Yoka-—> James White

"Thanks. I like store-bought pie and cakes as much as the next person, nothing wrong with them, but people typically tell me my desserts are as good as what you might find in any restaurant. I'm not sure how true that is but it's a nice thought..."

"Hmmm I might be inclined to agree with them, although I am not much one for eating desert at restaurants. I prefer it in settings such as this, or special events," Yoka said. He offered for the chocolate cake and she shook her head, declining. "I appreciate the offer but this will be quite enough to sate me. It looks quite rich, however. Is cooking something you enjoy regularly?"

"Yoka, huh? That's a nice name. My time here is...going good so far,
I suppose. I have my reasons for coming here that go beyond the pursuit
of more education..So, Yoka, I take it you're a kitsune? And by the looks of it, avery powerful one too."

Yoka arched slender eyebrow, though the motion was likely hidden behind her sunglasses. Interesting. Yoka never really made a strong effort to hide what she was; her glamor fooled most people and those that were able to see through it were generally of interest to the fox.

"There are plenty of reasons to stay on the island," Yoka said, giving him a sharp grin. "Part of the pleasure is being able to have a conversation where a young man says I take it you're a kitsune, and I don't have to pretend that I have no idea what he's talking about. Didn't really have that luxury in the states."

She laughed, covering her mouth with her hand.

She took another bite of her pie and then said, "But yes, you are correct. I am a kitsune. It's interesting that you could tell so quickly. "

James smiled a little and bit into a brownie, chewing and swallowing
before speaking again,"As a matter of fact, I do enjoy cooking quite a
bit. I enjoy being able to mess around with ingredients and making
tasty treats. They bring smiles to those who taste them, and that makes all the work worth it in my eyes,"

The young man shrugged at this point, "A couple things tipped me off
to you being a kitsune. First is...well, take a look where we are," He gestured to the area they were in, "This entire island is home to fantastical creatures of every kind. Goblins, Unicorns, Demigods...Witches," He seemed to put
extra emphasis on that last one, "So seeing a kitsune isn't out of the
question,"

"Also...your Onigiri," He held up said fox-shaped food item, "You shaped it like a fox which leads me to two conclusions: Either you're an anime fan, OR there's more to you than just a pretty face," He winked playfully,"I decided to go with both those conclusions."

"And finally...ever since my "accident" I've been a lot more sensitive to those with magical auras to them...and you have a very powerful aura to you, Miss Yoka."

Paradox was doing pretty well despite not being used to doing physical activities. He threw the hacky sack in the air, catching it with his head, elbows, ankles...

He started laughing when Axle started trying to steal the toy from him. He'd just turn to a side, skillfully dodging him. Eventually though, he lost his rhythm and made a bad move, and the hacky sack went right towards Axle. "Awh, man! That was hard! How do you do this without messing up like that??"

Coral quietly followed after Thorn to the girl who was playing the guitar. When Argya turned to them, she waved shyly at her, as if to say hello. She felt a bit shot down though when she casually just shrugged them off. Nonetheless Coral's attention also turned to Argya's guitar playing. She could never play instruments but she liked listening to people. And Argya was particularly good at playing.

"So um, do you compose music?" Oh, wow, that was a dumb question. Well, she did want to make conversation too.

Eph - Adelene & Allan

Allan was fidgety. It was sort of obvious, though Eph had seen worse reactions. This was just one trying to avoid offense, and after having seen people intentionally provoking offense, it was a welcome change. As for Adelene's remark - well, she knew better than to pry. Instead, she smiled and put her scaly hands on Allan's head (which was higher up than her own), saying as her tail put down all the food from her hands, "You know, you should relax a bit more - uh, Allan, was it? I - I get what you're trying to not do, but I've heard worse. Trust me. Just - just relax a bit."

With her legs firmly planted on the grass, she leaned back and let her tail slowly guide her to a sitting position. Her head rested on the tree, and then she let it slide - or rather, fall - to the grass where she lay down. "Anyway. Tree dad. Yeah, well, long story short, the, uh, genius that mutated me into, well, me, also managed to hit the tree I was on, and then some weird chain of events later I had En taking care of me. I say dad of sorts cause I don't think that's how dads work, cause I don't think he ever did anything to - okay I'm not imagining that, never mind that."

She shook her head at the thought of her parents having strange "parental guidance required" activities and tried to clear her head with a wedge of melon. "You guys, uh, what about you guys? Not sure if I should ask but too late for that, uh, yeah."

The emphasis on witches made Yoka lift her eyebrow again. The fox tapped her fingers off her arm, letting her continue.

"Also...your Onigiri,": Either you're an anime fan, OR there's more to you than just a pretty face," ,"I decided to go with both those conclusions."

"Or," Yoka offered, "It's because I work at an establishment called the Cross Fox. However, given that it's a kitsune who owns the establishment, you're still having a safe bet."

"And finally...ever since my "accident" I've been a lot more sensitive to those with magical auras to them...and you have a very powerful aura to you, Miss Yoka."

Interesting. Yoka stopped tapping her arm.

"So your ability to sense auras, is that something you see or something the shadows tell you?" She asked.

"Ah...well, it's not so much my own doing..." James shook his head as
he munched on a cookie, "My shadow friends help me with sensing auras.
I can do it to some limited degree but I still need more experience...guess
we should get the obvious questions out of the way first..."

He looked up to her, now interested, "Say,um...if you don't mind me
asking, what kind of abilities do you have? I'm going to assume that
jewelry on your arm isn't just for show."

"Ah, that's one of the benefits of being at the academy, then," Yoka said. "The school has an amazing program, although you definitely get out what you put into it. If you want to excel in your chosen area of study I am sure you can find the right people at the school to help you succeed."

Yoka shifted the box to her other arm so she could reach into the small wristlet she'd left into the box. "Believe it or not, I was a student here, although that was many years ago."

He looked up to her, now interested, "Say,um...if you don't mind me

"That's not typically the type of information I just give out to strangers," Yoka said, and then she gave a grin. "But I'll make you a deal. You show me something of your powers, and I'll tell you something of mine. Interested?"

[ Le-kzen Ta'driz ]

"I hear you! I don't like walking under the sun much. The drow city was really dark so my eyes are more used to it. This is just... unnatural." She shrugged, patting Lochlann's knee casually. "Aw, you're a real sweetheart, you know that? It's nice to meet you too."

She sat next to Lochlann, legs stretched out with her plate resting on her thighs. She was glad for the shade underneath the big ol' tree. She picked up her sandwich and began to eat it.

"I'm taking Political Science. I just think it's interesting. I might get into Politics one day but I also kinda want to learn Magic? Maybe I should dual course." She smiled into her sandwich. "Ahhh. Decisions, decisions~"

She bumped Lochlann on the arm lightly. "What about you?" Are you in College too? What are you taking?"

Coatzin:
Coatzin smiled widely at the guy’s offering, of course that she was going to join one of those social circles if she was given the chance to do it! Pus, all of them sounded pretty fun, or at least most of them. She wasn’t sure of what this host club, but something told her that this time it would be a good idea to bit her tongue and avoid making questions about it.

She immediately took out her cellphone and added Stefan to her contacts, and took the chance to add herself on his phone, just in case “Thanks a lot Stefan, you’re the best!” She said cheerfully before handing back his cellphone.

Argya:
She chuckled at the girl’s question “Indeed I do, what about you? You play an instrument or do something like that?” She asked, her fingers still playing the guitar energetically as she talked, she was starting to feel comfortable around them “Oh, no, thanks, I don’t smoke” She remembered the first time that she tried one of those toxic tubes, ugh, never again. After finishing the small made-up piece she finally raised her head, her attention landing completely on the girls in front of her “I must say it, you look pretty darn cool”.
