Name: Mephis (Not his true name, his true name is only known by himself and his king)
Age: Unknown (Same as above)
Birthday: Unknown (Same as above)
Gender: Male
Category: Citizen

Appearance Description:
  • ~This is quite a tricky area, nobody knows his true form (Rumor says that even Mephis himself forgot which form was his true form).
  • ~However, his favorite form is the plain black cat one.
  • ~He changes forms depending on what he wants to be, or what his owner wants him to be if he's currently under anyone's ownership.
  • ~His color changes just as easily as his overall form, so he can be a white cat at one second and a black dog at the other.
  • ~The only thing he can't change are his eyes, these have a dark blue (almost black) sclera with really bright green iris and a cat-like pupil. These glow intensely on the dark.
  • ~Around his neck can be seen black collar with spikes that appear to be made of red-hot iron, this collar marks his status as a demon pet. He can take it off at will, but he's strongly against it, being seen by his king without it would immediately earn him a heavy punishment.
  • ~A crystal-like sphere hangs from his collar. It appears to be full of smoke of different colors, but what he actually keeps there are the souls that he has gathered.

Likes: Fresh raw meat (Has a huge predilection for human meat), dark places, being respected, sweets, fresh milk.
Dislikes: Veggies, fruits, strongly illuminated places, holly places, disrespect, being treated like a slave, people that underestimates him.
Weaknesses: Holly water, holly spells casted by powerful people, holly weapons.
Strengths: Only can die if he's stabbed right through the heart with a holly weapon (Otherwise he'll just return to Hell and be stuck there until he fully heals), his demonic powers, weapon mastery.
Fears: Being killed, screwing up and having to face his enraged king.
Habits/Hobbies: Sleep, taking small walks whenever he's bored, being petted by his owner (If he has one), hunting, any other kind of satisfactory or pleasurable activity that he can think of.
Skills / Talents: Weapon mastery, spying, fighting.

Personality Description:
  • ~Semi-Loyal: As long as he's treated with the deserved respect and is given the place that he deserves, he'll be loyal to his current owner and will always be ready to obey his commands. Be aware though, if you start to misbehave around him or try to take advantage of him he'll immediately leave without even saying goodbye or even betray you. His species may be labeled as pets, but he's more like a companion, not a slave for you to just order around.
  • ~Cultured: His culture levels are incredibly high, he not only had studied the story of many species, but he also has been there and seen several parts of said history with his own eyes. If you ask about these events to him, he'll tell you what happened without sugarcoating it. A lot of people may consider this rude or offensive (As he may even defy the history books), but he can't care less. You asked and he gave you the raw truth, deal with it. This also makes him act in a somewhat gentlemanly-like way.
  • ~Arrogant: He feels superior to almost any mortal people, even the ones that call themselves his owners. The only way for him to lower his head and accept a mortal as a superior is if they prove themselves worthy before his eyes or if his king has favoritism of any kind towards the creature for any reason.
  • ~Mysterious: Even around his owners, he keeps a lot of secrets, mostly about himself. He only answer questions about these to very specific people and when he does he probably only gives out ambiguous answers or riddles.
  • ~Helpful: If he's properly treated and respected by his owners, they can find a huge helper on him. He can do practically anything that they ask him to do, as long as they don't cross the line with him, of course.
  • ~Intelligent: He's extremely intelligent and won't get fooled easily. He may also use his intelligence to confuse the people that he's dealing with if he needs to.
  • ~Quick to adapt: Just as he can easily change his form, he adapts to anything that happens around him. Either it is to an environmental change to the fighting someone, it doesn't really matters.
  • ~Impartial: He doesn't really cares who owns him as long as they follow the rules that he settled.
  • ~Predatory: Not only on the literal way of the word, but also in the way that he can easily spot the weak points of the ones around him if he pays enough attention, he's extremely opportunistic and patient enough to wait the perfect moment to put his plans into motion.
  • ~Vengeful: If you mess up with him, he won't forgive you easily Its highly probable that he'll turn your life into your personal living hell, personally.

Powers:
Indefinite form (Weak):
  • ~As said before, he's constantly changing forms to whatever he or his owner pleases. If wished they can combine several creatures into a single one.
  • ~His ability of changing into practically anything that walks, flies or swims allows him not only to take the form he pleases, but also to successfully impersonate people. Unluckily for him he can't change his eyes, so he obviously need to cover them up.
  • ~He can transform with or without clothes, but if he goes for the first option and the clothes are taken off these will vanish on thin air, since these aren't exactly real clothes.
  • ~His collar changes with him, allowing him to keep wearing it no matter of the form that he decides to take.
Demonic Pet (Strong):
  • ~Unluckily to him, these abilities stay dormant while he's what is known as a "Stray", in other words, when he has no owner, so he's completely unable to use them at all.
  • ~Mental bond: His mind is linked to the mind of his owner, they know perfectly where each other is and they can share thoughts with each other, like telepathy. The owner can see through Mephis' eyes, hear through his ears and all that stuff, no matter where each other is. The owner enters into trance while he's following Mephis this way, so he's in a dangerously vulnerable position and must make sure that he'll be safe before doing it.
  • ~Enhanced senses: As long as Mephis is under his/her ownership, the owner's senses will become powerfully enhanced. The owner can control this though, so if he's in a really bright place, for example, he can block this ability to avoid blinding himself. The ability can't be partially blocked though, you block one thing, you block all of them.
  • ~Health/Energy boost: Same as before, but the boost this time is for the health and energy, allowing the owner to heal faster and have greater stamina.
  • ~Luck manipulator: Mephis can manipulate luck, this way he can make his owner extremely lucky while making his enemies extremely unlucky. He can't use this ability on himself though.
  • ~Demonic delivery: If his master casts a spell or a curse, Mephis can deliver it personally to the victim. However, even if he can give advice, this power is linked to the owner himself. If the owner screws up, Mephis can do nothing to fix what's wrong. If the owner can't cast spells/curses, this power will be completely useless.
  • ~Dream eater: He can eat the dreams of any creature and use them on his favor. You really should see how much interesting info a dream can have. Eating someone's dream will cause the victim to feel unrested when he/she wakes up and if done constantly it can have a negative effect on the victim's health.
  • ~Future Sight: He can see the most probable outcomes of anyone's future. But, as everyone knows, future isn't decided and can be changed. Some owners purposely use this ability of his to change their dark future into a brighter one...not that it always work though.
Soul Gatherer:
  • ~Unlike most demons, his contract isn't as clear as it should be, to the point where a lot of people think that there is none, that his services are just given in exchange of respect and treating him correctly. Ah, if they only knew.
  • ~If he kills anyone he can steal the soul. It's easier if he kills them directly, but it still can be a bit tricky, especially if the soul is powerful. If he successfully steals the soul it will be stored on his collar's medallion.
  • ~If you become his owner, there is an extremely high probability of him taking your soul, and unlike the souls stolen when he kills, these can't fight back, they get stored in his medallion instantly. The only ways to avoid this is either by order of his king or if you manage to negotiate your way out of it while you're still alive. Unluckily for most people, almost nobody knows that they even made this contract until it's way too late for them to do anything.
  • ~He's a devil's minion. He isn't allowed to keep the souls (Not that he needs them anyways, he has no use for them), so each time he cans he will either go to Hell and releases the souls there, trapping them there forever and increasing the dimension's and his king's power, or delivers them personally to his king. The first one is a lot more common than the last for obvious reasons.
  • ~His medallion has no soul limit, but he prefers to send the souls he gathers to his king or hell as soon as possible instead of hoarding them. Mostly because he knows that several other creatures are seeking for souls as well and he knows that a large number of them gathered on his medallion can gather a lot of unwanted attention. He doesn't wants to risk his souls to get stolen and, consequently, get in trouble with his king.
Biography:
Mephis was born in the fiery depths of hell along with the rest of the demon pets. Since then he has been working to gather souls for his king, the devil himself. He takes care of the people that he isn't interested to attend personally, for whatever reason. His souls usually aren't worthless wimp dudes, but apparently he has a lot of work already and can't be everywhere at the same time. Yeah, a demon pet is far from being like a whish granted by his king, but you should see all the people that is far more than satisfied by his and the other demon pet services.

Everything went perfectly for him until the Middle Ages, yeah, the witches and wizards were an unusually large community to get souls easily, but they had to be extremely careful. It was then when the first demon pet was captured and executed successfully along with its owner. It was like walking on a mined field. The risk was high, but the prize was way too tempting for any of them to ignore. More than once he decided to betray the witch that owned him and run off right before the witch hunters came and took him along his owner. He never regretted doing so, after all, it was his owner's fault that they got caught, he/she wasn't discrete enough, he just followed the orders given to him, he obviously didn't had to pay for his owner's mistakes. Plus, he was getting the soul anyways.

Years kept passing and he kept doing his job as always, he even found way to actually have fun while doing so, just because he had to follow his owner's orders it didn't meant that he couldn't have fun, right? He kinda misses the Middle Ages, even with it constant dangers, at least there getting an owner was extremely easy, now he has to work a bit harder to do so.

His paws ended up carrying him to Manta Carlos Islands after a while. He isn't sure why, but at least he may be able to find a powerful owner here, that surely would please his king, powerful souls always pleased him.

Additional Information:
There are three ways to manage to get Mephis as your own demon pet:
  • ~Summoning: The most usual way to meet him. You simply need to summon the "Demon Pet" as any book related to summoning will tell you to. Too bad that the small detail of the default contract made by the summoning is missing in all these books. Be aware that if you aren't of his liking or don't fulfill the demon's expectations he will refuse to accept you as his owner and will leave without even saying goodbye...this doesn't guarantee that you keep your soul though.
  • ~Given by Satan: From time to time, the devil himself will give a demon pet to a mortal for whatever reason. This is the only way to get him that will force the demon pet to stay and obey even if it's against his will. He can't go against his king's wishes, no matter how much he wants to, and won't leave or go against his owner's wishes until he either dies or his king allows him to leave.
  • ~Casual meeting: You find him as a stray, you discover what he truly is, you decide to take him in. Simple enough, right? Some negotiations need to be done before he accepts you as his owner and he still can refuse. Luckily for you, if he refuses he won't be able to take your soul anyways, so there won't be a risk of unwanted side-effects like in the summoning.
