Appearance Description:

Art by Me
Physical Description:
As a human, there's something about Lochlann that attracts a lot of women. He fits the description tall, dark, and handsome down to his feet.
Lochlann stands tall, with a well-muscled swimmer's body and shaggy dark hair that curls ever so slightly around the nape of his neck. His bangs are often askew because of his habit of running his hands through them, and it's not uncommon for his hair to be damp with pieces of seaweed hanging from it.
Lochlann has a long face, a wide smile, and a thin nose. He has green eyes that seem friendly or dangerous depending on the viewer's perception, but people who know Lochlann well can recognize when he's feeling tired or frustrated by the way his dark eyebrows furl.
In his natural form, Lochlann appears as a large, black stallion with unusually perceptive eyes. There's little to distinguish him from another horse, save for perhaps the sharpness of his teeth and his intelligence, but these are things that aren't usually noticed until it's too late.

Style:
Lochlann looks intentionally disheveled. He doesn't like to wear shirts, because he's never sure what to do with the sleeves, so he spends a lot of time rolling and unrolling them. Buttons give him nightmares and uniform is a dirty word. Bright-colors and patterns make him feel self-conscious, which ruins his self-confident stud-act, so he typically dresses in plain, dark neutrals.
In truth, the disheveled appearance is less intentional and more a result of nervous habits like running his hands through his hair, fussing with his sleeves, and not having access to an iron.
Lochlann wears little, if any, jewelry. On occasion, he might be spotted with a faux-silver ring or necklace on, but these are nondescript items.

Lochlann now bares scars from his time at Starlight Academy.
He has a visible scar on the back of his right hand and a wicked, jagged scar over his heart. He has a scar on his upper thigh from a gunshot wound. Occasionally, when his leg acts up Lochlann will have a noticeable limp, but he has mostly recovered from this injury. He prefers to change the subject rather than ask what it is about.
These scars are not visible in his horse shape.

Personality Description:
Lochlann is a real lady killer: tall, dark, and armed with a sharp smile.
No, seriously, Lochlann kills and eats women.
Lochlann doesn't get along well with other guys, though he'd like to. Testosterone ridden, moody, and rambunctious, Lochlann's attempts to socialize with other males usually end up with competitions of strength, heated exchanges, and a general sense of frustration. Lochlann just can't seem to connect with his own gender.
As a result, Lochlann compensates by forming strong bonds with females that ultimately result in someone getting eaten, and not always in a pleasurable way. He's a good listener, even if he occasionally tosses his head and has a tendency to laugh by showing his teeth without any sound. He's supportive and likes to ask questions, although he's not very good at responding questions directed his way. Despite his tendency to get out of control, Lochlann isn't a bad friend.
Except for the fact that he hates everything.
He doesn't like to tell people what he likes, because that typically ends with someone getting beat up.
The last person to tell Lochlann his hair looked like an emo kid's had his jaw broken. Lochlann was caught reading Gawain and the Green Knight by a freshman who shortly after transferred schools with a broken jaw. Lochlann was caught sitting outside the girl's chorus room by a hall monitor, who thought Lochlann was up to something suspicious. Lochlann panicked and the monitor ended up with a broken jaw. Lochlann's girlfriend told him she loved him after she caught Lochlann reading trashy historical romance novels, so he lured her into a river and ate her.
That last one was an accident.
Lochlann knows he should stay away from women, but he can't help himself. Without company, he feels lonely and worried, which is how he spends a lot more time than he'd like to admit. Though sullen, Lochlann isn't a loner.
Lochlann loves music and books with the same intensity that he hates them. He carries a sense of shame that he carries no musical talent of his own, but it doesn't stop him from wanting to hear everything. Trashy pop music, rock, rap, metal, and even classical--it all appeals to his ears. He's never heard something he's hated, and Lochlann has been exposed to dubstep.
Music relaxes him, which is good because he's typically on edge. Lochlann goes about life with a sense of paranoia that he has to get to someone before they get to him, and the manifestation of these actions is often violent.
Lochlann isn't a bad person, he just lacks control and knows it, so he tends to go about life in a vicious grab at anything he can.
Likes:
- Being shirtless.
- Literature, especially old poetry and plays.
Talking to Lochlann about Medieval Literature is the equivalent of talking dirty to a hooker. Just don't ask him to perform in public.
- Books and paper. Paper dissolves quickly underwater, so the dry texture interests him fiercely. He collects paper like some people collect stamps.
- Music.
- Girls.
- Water.
- Sheep. They're his favorite animal, which some consider unusual considering he eats them raw from time to time.
Dislikes:
- Uniforms or formal clothes of any kind. Lochlann hates most clothing, but uniforms in particular drive him nuts. He can't figure out what to do with the sleeves.
- Being stared at.
- People standing behind him--he kicks.
- Pet/affectionate names. Dearie, Sweetie, and Honey are three names he can't stand. He makes an exception for Loch, though, since it's a nickname.
- Comments that are mildly offensive to him or others.
- Comments about his "swimmer's body." Lochlann doesn't think it's a compliment about muscle tone--he thinks they're making fun of his heritage.
- Don't call his hair emo. It's just long and uncut.
- Anyone asking about his mom.
- Public showers.
- Bath Tubs.
- Hairspray. The smell gives him migraines.
- People asking how to pronounce his last name.
- Anyone calling him Lochland. He hates the D.

Powers:
Lochlann is a water-horse, though whether he is a pooka, kelpie, or cabyll-ushtey is unclear. Lochlann is a predatory horse with the ability to transform himself into a human for periods of time, but it's extremely difficult for him to retain this shape when exposed to water. If he can lure someone onto his back, it's almost impossible for the rider to dismount.
Lochlann has a strong power of suggestibility that's especially useful on women though, like hypnotism, he can't convince them to do anything they normally wouldn't. He can't read people's minds or telepathically command them to do things; it's more like a pervasive mental nudge. Lochlann has a tendency to convince depressed people to crash their cars off bridges. Typically, this behavior isn't intentional, but Lochlann does get a meal out of it.

Biography:
Lochlann is an American Cabyll-Ushtey, his family having immigrated to the US when Lochlann was young. They crossed the Atlantic Ocean and eventually ended up in Michigan.
Lochlann's father understands that things aren't like the old days. It's hard to lure livestock and humans into the river without people searching for a body. In the past, a Kelpie could shift and work as a farm hand or slip into a stable and plow a farmer's fields in a single day. Now, there's paperwork, drivers licenses, and clearances to worry about.
Lochlann's family decided the solution was to live the American Dream. The oldest and most capable of his siblings at retaining his human shape, Lochlann was enrolled in public schools. They moved down river after Lochlann drowned and ate a varsity soccer player. In the next school, it was a pretty junior, and the school after that saw the death of its librarian.
Lochlann's father decided it might be a good idea to keep him away from human girls for a while. They moved further yet, though this time his father bought a derelict piece of property a quarter mile from the river and seven sheep.
Over that summer, they managed to groom the property into something of a show-piece. The home was cleaned and set up to look lived-in. The herd increased in size and Lochlann's family participated in the country fair, coming home with several chickens as well as a blue ribbon prize for their finest ram.
Though they still live in the river, Lochlann's family managed to set up a convenient parody of a human life. Living so far from town, few people witness any behavior that would raise questions.
There's still the issue of Lochlann getting a real education, although now that there's some money in the basement safe, his father has considered the possibility of a private academy. He's heard rumors of a few that might have Others and NonHumans enrolled, and he harbors a private hope that this would help control, if not cure, his son's addiction to human women.

Since arriving at Starlight Academy, Lochlann has had a rough time.
Lochlann has earned a reputation as a bit of a bad-boy.
He has is infamous for being amazing in bed, although getting a date with him is hard as Lochlann frequents lesser-traveled areas along the lake, beach, and roof top. Lochlann was sent to the Behavioral Corrects Facility and is infamous for escaping not just once, but twice. He has a file as thick as a book, although his grades have been relatively steady.
Lochlann managed to graduate Starlight Academy with a Diploma and is currently enrolled as a full time college student. He bar tends at a beach bar called Margaritaville and frequently takes odd jobs working in the agricultural district.

Additional Information:
For RP purposes, Lochlann wears an amulet that allows him to retain his human shape for indefinite periods of time. However, it makes him especially susceptible to migraines (especially when it rains), and he frequently has headaches from loud noises as a result of sound not being diluted by water.
He is also an addict and not being around women gives him withdrawal symptoms and makes him significantly more dangerous than he would otherwise be.
