Name: "Angel of Death" / "Death" / "Jack Touwen"
Other Aliases: John, Gian, Ifan, Ivan, Hans Johann, Juan...
Age: As old as the first creations (25 in physical appearance)
Birthday: ??
Gender: Indefinite, usually identifies as male
Species: Angel
Category: Citizen
Career: Bar Owner

Appearance Description:
True form:
Only gods, deities, demons, and other angels can see his true form; this includes all kinds of the aforementioned beings, hybrids, and even ex-mortals. Because he is among the first ever creations, he looks much like humans themselves who are believed to be modeled after the Creator's image, since the first creations are more so. The differences lie in some body parts: Jack as an angel has wings made of light, the right one being white and the left being black; he also lacks the human's reproductive organs and even the belly button. He has asymmetric hair with the right side being black and the left being silver. His eyes are black, and his skin is almost white without any imperfection. Jack used to not find necessity to clothe himself, until enough exposure to mortals made him aware of the idea known as "fashion". His first outfits and still his choice when in this form is the knee-length toga from Rome with a plunging back. Footwear was never necessary in this form either.

For other creatures not mentioned here, however, they can only see his in this form as black light shaped like his silhouette. They are completely unable to see him any clearer.

Human form:
Death could be anyone. He could be your mother, your brother, your grandfather, etc. And you wouldn't know it's him until he reveals himself. However, he does have an appearance he prefers whenever his stay on Earth is prolonged.

It is the look of a middle-aged man whose skin complexion is not too light nor too dark, just fair, whose eyes are as blue as the midsummer sky, and whose hair is bright silver. He has a sharp slender nose and thin lips. He is six feet tall and has a muscular but slender build.

Many times, he also mimics the appearance of his true form and simply converts it into human physique.

Personality Description:
Jack loves messing around and having fun, but he is also hard-working and diligent. All of these are because he knows more than anyone that life must be lived to the fullest, so when he arrives no regret will haunt the soul.

He actually loves life. He has cried many times for the souls he's collected, and has congratulated those whose life has been good and satisfying. People who commit suicide sadden him, as well as those who have died too young to have done anything on their own.

But he doesn't harbor hatred towards murderers. In fact, he loves flawed mortals such as these, because flaw brings out the beauty, vulnerability, and truth of a creature. What he does hate are the people who waste their life doing nothing. Mortals amuse and entertain him, but he is quite indifferent in the sense that he will never intervene on someone's death or someone's act of killing. He is a spectator that enjoys everything he sees and hears.

Jack is sly and playful. When pretending to be human, he is cheerful and sociable, and he definitely knows how to fool around, and he doesn't hide the fact that this is mostly a mask. He doesn't hide the fact that he is not emotionally attached to anyone or anything, even to his favorite human ever, but this detachment makes him open to anyone as well.

Species Abilities:
Being an angel and one of the first creations, Jack has the following innate abilities:

1. Flight - He has wings made out of light, and he can use them at will whatever his form is. He is able to carry only 150% of his mass more, in addition to his own body, when flying. He has a maximum speed of around 60-70kph but can only reach this speed in a quick sprint lasting for at most 10 seconds. His average flying speed is 20-30kph and at this speed can last for an hour in the air before he needs to land again.

2. Immortality - Jack never experienced being a child and will also never age, and that is why he has lasted for so long. The only way for him to die is if the creator takes back his life, or if another god/deity, angel, or demon is capable of completely annihilating a soul through whatever means except feeding. Any creature who consumes life/souls cannot feed on him. He does not need food or sleep in his true form, but his body in his human form feels hunger and exhaustion. However, these sensations do not cause him to gravely weaken or to get sick or die.

3. Teleportation - Angels need to be able to be where they are needed the very moment that they are needed. This creates the impression that they are omnipresent, even though they aren't. With that said, Jack is able to teleport from one place to another, but only after receiving official death due reports or when he is being summoned by the creator or his superiors. He can go anywhere he needs to be, but cannot use this for anything other than official purposes.

4. Morphing/Shapeshifting - Jack can shift into any mortal being: a man, a woman, an old man, a child, an animal, an insect, etc. However, he is unable to change forms if a being that is not god/deity/angel/demon (all kinds, including hybrids and ex-mortals) is present and has him in their line of sight. He also cannot change back to his true form under this condition. He cannot shapeshift into a god's/deity's, a demon's, or another angel's appearance. This ability is necessary for when he is meeting mortals, usually dying ones, to collect souls. Shifting into someone the mortal may know makes their passing much easier.

5. Universal language - Jack was one of the very first creations, who came MUCH earlier than humans or any other kind of being for that matter. He'd most likely know most general knowledge that other species would, since the first creations were basically prototypes for those that came after. He would have a hard time remembering most of these knowledges, but he hasn't forgotten any human language since he constantly uses them all when interacting with mortals, mostly during his soul collecting.

Powers:
Hand of Death
Being an angel of death, Jack is tasked to collect souls of passing mortals. By touching these mortals, he is able to do two things: (1) take their soul and keep them in his special locket until he can deliver them to the afterlife where it will be decided what happens to them next; or (2) extend their lifespan by at most 5 years. He cannot cause anyone or anything to die by merely touching them, since his only purpose is to collect souls of already dying mortals. Also, he can only extend a moratl's lifetime if they are about to die due to an unnatural cause, such as murder, accident, or war, and only if he senses that their soul is filled with too much regret about dying to pass peacefully. This means that he can't help people who have caused their own deaths to themselves aka suicide.

He usually does death visits by physically dropping by the mortal's location and engaging in a quick conversation to inform them that they are about to die and to let them say their last words, or this is also when he would assess the mortal's regret. However, Jack is also able to communicate with them mentally in one second, when it would seem to the mortal that everything is frozen except themself and Jack. This is for when a person's cause of death is instantaneous which makes it impossible for a slow visit, e.g. falling from a building, slipping and hitting one's head on a rock, getting hit by a bullet straight to the head, or when the place of death is too populated for the dying mortal and Jack to speak with one another. This mental ability is only for communicating and nothing else.

Another mortal is necessary to donate the number of years to be given to the dying, specifically someone closely related. Jack cannot take these years by force; he has to talk to mortals to have their consent, before letting them drop a bit of blood onto his locket to seal the deal. He is also able to look for and speak to a donor prospect mentally within the last second of the dying mortal's life if talking physically with them is impossible.

Memory Manipulation
For official use only, specificallly after asking consent from a mortal to take away time from their lifespan and give it to the dying, or other necessary contact with mortals during official business. Cannot be used otherwise. Basically, he simply removes their memory of meeting him. He has to be able to touch them anywhere on the head.

Note: "Official business" includes obeying any orders and tasks given by the creator and higher ranking angels. Unless some kind of war has been waged, this usually only accounts to errands, requests, and his soul collection. Jack has something like a logbook with a list of people who are dead and are going to die soon, with new names and other necessary info adding themselves to the log once Jack is needed to visit them. These names are usually of those near his current location, unless other angels are unable to tend to someone far away, so every death visit is most likely official, even those he just happened to pass by.

Biography:
Jack is one of the many angels of death created along with the very first creations such as Lucifer, with the responsibility of overseeing the eventual death of those who are alive. They were the firsts in this line of job, and they quietly oversaw the job of those who followed later such as grim reapers and other soul collectors, while continuing to do their own work.

Humans were his favorite thing. They are a young species compared to the univers, compared to him, but he has been preoccupied by them long enough to keep himself from getting bored. They are young and flawed, but to him those flaws were their beauty. Their flaws caused death, and in death is when a mortal is most vulnerable, honest, and true.

There is nothing too notable about Jack to set him apart from other angels, but ever since the creation of man, he has begun to stay in the mortal world more, always longer than the last time. He does have a favorite human: Deith Rosenn. He had been tasked to collect this boy's mother's soul after she died getting beaten up by her husband, and also the husband's soul after Deith killed him for killing another man. He's seen this boy grow during those years and stuck to him until he's collected his soul. Jack got word that Deith became a demon later on, but he's never visited him since. Deith never even knew he had a guardian angel.

He has discovered Manta Carlos after receiving death dues there. The fact that the two are in one place is actually just coincidence, though he is quite happy to know that Deith was here. Figuring it was a home for creatures of all kinds on Earth, even gods, demons, angels like himself, and magical beings, he decided it would be fun to stay here-- that it would be fun to see the lives and deaths of beings other than the ordinary humans.

He set up a small bar downtown after deciding that this is where he will listen to the citizens' happiness and woes, and take "customers" who would like to have a bargain with death. Yes, he might be making a bit of money out of this. Needless to say, he doesn't hide his identity here in Manta Carlos the way he does in other places.
