It was a beautiful day outside. The sun was shining, the grass was warm, and a gentle breeze propelled kites into the air. Birds were chirping, students and faculty were laughing, and everyone seemed happy to be outside.

[ Hari Takahiro ]

Hari was just happy he was finally able to attend events like this.

His draining powers had gone away for the most part, and it was like storm clouds finally clearing out to make way for sunshine. He was sitting happily on the field, underneath the tree next to the picnic blanket covered with food. The very much alive grass was tickling his fingers.

He made a batch of brownies and sandwiches for the big event and placed them on the blanket... but he didn't feel like eating at all. He didn't have much of an appetite these days. He remembered he had gone a full two days without eating which was really odd. He felt fine, though.

Ah, well.

He was bad with socializing so he stayed in his corner and perused the books in his bag. He'd been sitting on Gawain and the Green Knight for a while. He stopped reading it years ago for a reason he couldn't remember, but he supposed he could finish it today.

Picnic day!!! Finally an event focused completely on meeting other students and have a nice time together, it was obvious that Coatzin had to g no matter what. To vent her enthusiasm a bit she decided to fly at her maximum speed towards the picnic area. Only during these occasions she used a special pair of aviator goggles, she really wouldn’t need them, but her dad had insisted so many times for her to use them anyways that now t was mostly an habit to use them when she decided to go at her maximum speed while flying for any reason. As she flapped her wings, a small whistling sound could be heard thanks to her speed as she got nearer to the place where the picnic would be hold, it wasn’t too loud, but loud enough to know anyone in a 10 meter radius to know that she was there. She was happy to see that some other students were already there. In a completely carefree dare-devil action she plummeted towards the ground, opening her wing when she almost hit the ground.

After her small trick she landed gracefully and pulled the goggles off her face, placing them on her head instead, she would keep them on for now, just in case she wanted to fly again soon. She looked at the students around her, not sure of who she should talk to, being the new girl of the academy was a bit troublesome from time to time. There were some people just chilling, she probably could walk towards them and start a conversation, as long as they were ok with that, obviously. Two guys were making what appeared to be a nice trick that ended a bit badly…should she go there and see if they needed any help? But the there was this lonely guy wanting to play frisbee, she never had played that game before, could this be a good time to try it? Darn, why she couldn’t decide?!

Today was a lovely day!

The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and she wanted to enjoy the day. It helped that today was a day she didn't mind taking the day off while Muffler ran the shop. She was never the type to enjoy warmth and hot sun, especially considering how fluffy she was and how cool her shop tended to be. Although heat tended to keep her sweets nice and moist, it also facilitated mold, which was a serious problem considering their closeness to the ocean.

So she'd packed up some of her unsold stock and tied it to her trusty broom, flying to the park. Ah, so many people were here already! It was always nice to see people enjoying the sun. She had even gotten into the spirit, wearing a sundress and a wide-brimmed hat for the outdoorsy occasion.

The Sweet's Witch landed on the grass and started setting up her own little station. Tasty roll cakes, cream puffs with chocolate sauce drizzled over them, enough cupcakes to feed a small army, some cookies, banana bread, and finally a Strawberry Shortcake missing only a single slice.

Her haul spread out, she made herself comfortable on the blanket and pulled out her latest find--"My lover is a Werewolf Pirate Necromancer President".

Taking a cookie, she opened up to her marked page and started to read.

[ DJ ]

Dressing children for the weather was a struggle. No matter what she did Tevvie seemed hellbent on wearing his sweatshirt with the smiling ice-cream cone, no matter how much she tried to convince the three year old that it was too hot to wear it. He just stomped around the apartment in his ice cream sweatshirt.

Eventually she managed to get him into shorts and T-shirt that read 'I do my own stunts' and filled her bag with snacks and juice for the both of them. Today she wouldn't bring any alcohol on the adventure. She could justify drinking a few cold ones on the beach. Not so much in the park.

"Dere!" The small child chirped, pointing out Thorn and Joker as he did his stunt. DJ made a face. It wasn't that she didn't like Thorn or Joker--well... it wasn't that she didn't like Thorn--it was just that Tevyntr had had enough interaction with Joker to fill his little life.

"No sweetie, how about over here?" She said, leading him to another spot in the grass near a rather pretty boy who'd made a lot of food. As she set about setting up juice and toys and a small TV for them to watch a few shows, Tev wandered over to the him.

The toddler merely blinked at him, his small fists balled into his shirt.

[ Amphios ]

He hated the heat.

Well, that wasn't true, he hated when it was hot and he had to wear clothes. Today he'd decided to compromise and wear a short sleeved shirt instead of a long one. The inside of his arms was just slightly tanned, but the outside was a dark brown and spotted with white dots and lines, along with swirls and shapes. It was a weird thing to have on your arm, but he'd seen people with weirder.

Anyway, today was vine day.

Today he was going to film a vine, and he would have it posted a few days after that. Hopefully he could do a couple candid ones too and those would be a nice treat for his viewers. Hehe.

The park was bumping today.

That's what he was thinking, as he looked around for a good spot to start filming. Under his arm was one of his smaller cameras and a tri-stand, since he wasn't able to convince any of his like, 3 friends to hold the camera for him.

Hmm...

That's when he saw someone eat tons of shit out of a tree. A tree!

"Oh, oh my god!" He exclaimed, running over to them. He looked at the woman and then at the guy on the ground. "Is... is he... uh, are you okay?"

Hari looked up from where he was reading when something blocked his sunlight.

It was a little boy.

He was so cute.

He smiled widely. He loved interacting with children. He was always nervous around people his own age, but children were sweet and non-judgmental. He folded a section of the page and set the book aside, giving the little boy a slight head ruffle. "Hello there, young man. Are you out with your mother?"

Adelene was there mostly because of the food. She wasn't really at ease being around so many people, but the field was pretty wide so it was okay.

She was staying near the free food almost the while time, munching some stuff every now and then. She could see Lochlann in the distance but... would it be a good idea to talk to him right now? She didn't think so.

Aside from Lochlann though, she wasn't really that acquainted to the people here. She knew Cabel, but she's never really talked to him before.

Why was she even staying there? She was like a wallflower. She could just grab more food and leave but... Okay, maybe she wanted to try knowing more people. But would anyone even talk to her?

@Poptart

Coatzin looked at the blue-eyed boy as he walked…uh…floated towards her. Well, apparently she got her answer, she was going to play Frisbee after all! She had seen people playing that before, but never had played herself, so she just hoped to be good at it. Otherwise she would need to adapt as quickly as possible to keep up with her floating companion.

Coatzin just nodded, running towards the field without wrapping her tail around her body, lowering her goggles once more. Something told her that this floating guy wasn’t planning to have an everyday land game with that Frisbee, she even opened her wings, feeling the soft breeze against her fully extended fathers, ready to take flight in the act if needed.

Mor

Mor loathed the sun. It made his parts all sorts of loose and unless he was specifically going for something that was meant to be seen in the sun. So he opted to simply stay in the background, watching the interesting people go about their interesting lives as he sat in the shade of a nearby tree, sketching the entire scene in a notebook. Two pairs of arms darted back and forth on the notebook with pencils, rapidly tracing the scene he stared at.

A strange sense of peace washed over him, leaving him horribly confused. Peace was not something normal. There was always supposed to be something to be done. Now that there wasn't, his legs twitched in unrest. Perhaps in a while he would try to join others there.

Teddy

There were so many people that Teddy felt he'd found a gold mine. So many people to meet, bother, and do random stuff with. Where to start, where to start...

In the distance he saw someone reading a book - actually, one of many, but this particular one was the nearest. It was part of his personal philosophy to make sure that no person should be out in public by his or her own, and so he rushed toward Hari, only to find that a little child got there first.

"Tch. That's not very nice sir - ah screw it let's GO FOR IT!" he yelled, charging at Hari and rolling for some reason along the way, seeing another girl standing alone. He resolved to go to her after he'd spread his message of peace and companionship to this one.

Once he was near, he tiptoed to behind Hari, and then suddenly jumped beside him, landing in a seated position with his right arm hooking around his neck. Invoking the grandiosity he held, he boomed, "Such a good day, good sir - and you're just here reading? There is more to life! Eat, drink, make merry, and dammit - stop reading man you can do that later!"

Eph

There weren't enough insects on the menu for Eph's liking, but then again, not everyone ate bugs like she did. She pored through the selection of food and settled for a bowl of fruits when she noticed there was someone lost in thought beside her.

With a smile she clapped Adelene on the back, then recoiled a bit out of fear that she might accidentally injure her. Her smile grew more tense and doubtful as she spoke, "Sorry 'bout that... ah, uh... what're you doing here all silent - like and stuff? Re - really sorry 'bout that."

Emman

"Tanginang picnic... where's alcohol, naknamputa? It's good that I have my own personal supply because puta naman this is boring shit!" he roared, bringing out a large bottle of coconut wine from his backpack. He was right to think that a picnic would not be his particular scene, but maybe, just maybe there was someone - ah, who was he kidding? These were students, and students got along well with alcohol.

He plopped himself down cleanly on the grass and pulled out a glass for his wine. There he began to drink by his own, but that was kind of annoying to do for him so he began asking people to join him. And by ask he meant shout out loud while grinning, "Hoy! Mga gusto uminom dya - wait, wait I forgot, you're not Pinoy - who wants to have a drink? Yan, ano, naiintindihan na ba?"

Adelene flinched and abruptly turned around, only to find a lizard lady smiling and striking a conversation with her. She was only surprised, and was quick to calm down and smile back at her. In a sheepish way. And then moved closer and whispered, "I'm here for the food," before turning to the table and grabbing some chips. After munching them all, she held out her other hand for a shake. It was a normal gesture. "Name's Adelene. Yours?"

Hari had barely been talking to the boy when suddenly, something jumped from behind him. He jumped from his position and shook, feeling surprise like a surge of electricity that climbed up his body.

He did not appreciate that.

He held the odd man's wrist and removed it from around his shoulders. He had a visible scowl in his face. "While I appreciate the advice, sir, I'd rather you walk up to me normally and ask for my permission before touching me."
