Name: Okali Kirre
Age: 17
Birthday: October 8
Gender: T-girl~ [she/her preferred, he/him currently tolerated and expected]
Category: Student
Class: High School
Grade: 11
Appearance Description: Okali is short, skinny, and extremely soft-looking. She counts herself lucky when she gets measured as more than five and a half feet, as opposed to the more common 5'4"-and-change, and will 100% cheat and stretch (and hang upside down as long as she can stand it to try to lengthen her spine) in order to get that luck. She's usually biting back a grin, so her face might look stiff and contorted but her eyes will be dancing as she tries to best the tape.
Okali has vibrant pink hair, longish for a boy but still short enough that it won't brush her collar, and it's usually just messy enough to be a sort of shaggy halo. Her skin is pale and faintly metallic, with a rosy tinge that never goes away even at the edge of hypothermia - well, then her hands turn kind of purple, but there's still that red tint there. Her eyes are a bit darker, but as defiantly violet as her hair pushes fuschia. Her face is oval and sleek, not pudgy, with a tiny nose and thin lips. There isn't naturally a lot of colour to her lips, and she isn't quite up to wearing make up yet, so she is in the habit of biting and nibbling on her lips to get at least some red into them.
She isn't really into fashion, but Okali will still put a fair bit of work into acquiring nice clothing - mostly so she can just grab stuff and be confident that she'll be spectacular regardless. She's still a bit too shy of things to buy things from the women's side of stores - but if it's in the middle it's fair game, and wow does Okali have a lot of leggings and skinny jeans. She also wears a lot of cool loose shirts, with the backs hacked apart so that she can spread her wings - her iridescent violet hummingbird wings, which match the tiny patch of feathers over her tailbone that equate to her tail. She'll show off the wings, but catching a peek of the tail is rare.
Personality Description: Sweet and silly and exuberant, Okali is a friendly kid - for the most part. She's confident in some ways and absolutely uncertain in others, and she doesn't do everything wholeheartedly.
Okali's defining desire and motivation is actually to be remembered. No one in her family has done anything dramatic or exciting. There's nothing memorable. She isn't interested in that for herself.
To that end, she has her fingers in a lot of pots. She sings, draws, and is trying to get into a bit of modelling - regrettably as a boy, since one of the things she's uncertain about it how her female identity really fits into the world that calls her 'he' - all while keeping up a reputation as a light-hearted, adorable femboy to be taken care of and doted upon.
Fine, fine, it's not an act. Okali is totally light-hearted and wants ALL THE ATTENTION. That's why she wants to be remembered. The attention can't just be for the moment. It has to last forever.
She'll say something ground-shaking and romantic - Okali loves romance and relationships and is polyamorous - and then hide her face in her mug so that you can't see her grin. She'll be blushing like crazy, but it's the grin that really defines her. She loves strong emotion, especially being caught up in it, and will throw herself headlong into things even it it's far from wise. She might not divulge personal information quickly, but she'll go off and do things with random people and never even consider regretting it.
Powers: Scentsucking
Okali can absorb the traits of an organism or object by inhaling its scent. The scent need not be related to those traits or even present in a sensory capacity: technically it is the act of inhalation that draws in the traits.
Okali can maintain three active and three passive traits at a time. She cannot choose which traits she absorbs from something at the present time, though it is possible with extensive training. Those traits can range from increased senses - although her sense of smell is always spectacular - to communication with a species of animal to wind manipulation. The number of traits she absorbs from a single inhalation varies, but stronger inhalation correlates with more traits.
For active traits, Okali has to try to figure out how to use it herself unless she's lucky enough to absorb an understanding of the ability as well - which takes up a passive slot. She may also not inhale a necessary aspect of a trait, such as being fireproof when breathing fire.
Okali can retain a trait indefinitely, in theory, but if she completely forgets about it she will lose it; she tends to reset whenever she goes to sleep as a result. It is also difficult to not smell things, so she can pick things up at random. Most of the time she actually picks up traits she has naturally, in fact, such as human-quality eyesight or the ability to grow hair on her head.
She totally hangs out with girls with big boobs in the hopes that she'll inhale their ability to grow boobs. She has not seen any success thus far.
General Magical Talent
Okali possesses the potential to learn and use spells, especially those involving the senses. Illusion magic will come fairly easily, but more so in quality than in actual reliability.
Biography: Okali's an Manta Carlos native, but her parents will never appear in any publications other than the paper that mentioned their obituaries this fall. She has two older sisters and an older brother, but one sister is a, uh, long term resident of the islets and the other works there. Her brother blames Okali for their parents' death and refuses to have anything to do with her.
She's actually pretty okay with the sudden solitude. She's sad about her parents, of course - they weren't bad people or anything. They just... faded away. Their fatal car crash didn't even draw any attention. It was just a sad accident on a rainy night in a quiet part of town.
She can even see the positives to the situation. Her parents had always tried to encourage her to be more masculine. They might have accepted her identity, but it would have been a rough adjustment when she finally found the courage to force it upon them.
Now she's free, and all the inhibitions and restrictions on how she expresses herself stem from herself. There are a lot of lingering chains and expectations, and she hasn't actually been able to tell other people what she's worked out for herself - but really, if people haven't at least started to suspect that the hummingbird kid ain't particularly dude-ish... it's kinda their problem now.
