Omnom Trees (King)

The last caltrop disappeared into the child's jagged mouth, and then they simply blinked and tilted their head at the strange tall person.

"Do you have any more?" they asked innocently, as if they hadn't just eaten an enormous amount of metal - or a swath of trees and dirt and rock.

At all the laughter, the black hole child looked around curiously. Where was the source of the humour? Was the strange person laughing at them? It kind of sounded like a good laugh... but it was weird and this person was weird, so they were a bit uncertain.

Then Crow pointed at the child, and their upper lip quivered.

"Are you laughing at me?" they asked quietly. Sadly. Disapprovingly.

The black hole child didn't think they were very funny. They hadn't told any jokes or done anything other than eat. So it wasn't very nice that the skinny stranger was laughing at them -

but they were easily distracted by food and there were so many shiny things falling out of the hat. They also hadn't yet learned a way to talk while eating, though it wasn't as if the multitasking could make them choke like it apparently did to humans, so for now they just ate.

And ate.

And ate.

And with the sheer volume of such dense foodstuffs, the red glow of their head tentacles might have even been a little bit brighter.

Weeee it was so nice to have food! The black hole child spun in a little circle, dress spreading away from their leg tentacles just in time to keep them from tripping and falling on their face.

Then they abruptly stopped and looked at Crow.

"Thaaaaaaank youuuu," they said brightly, grinning head-splittingly wide. Literally. The corners of their mouth disappeared into the line of black fang-like spikes that marked what might be called a hairline. A tentacleline? The division between blue skin and red tentacle, at any rate.

............well this was weird again.

Tenta tilted their head. "You don't talk very much," they said, and then stepped forward with tentacles extended for a hug. Hey, their mouth was only open while they were talking right now. They were... more or less safe to touch.
