Alexander Donein
Donein laughed loudly, banging his hand on the table. The wood warped under his palm, bending smoothly as if it were made of butter. Donein continued to stare directly into Complines eyes, the pitch black orbs staring at seemingly all of the poor girl at once. Donein stood and began to walk towards Compline, but...
When Donein would bump into the table, he simply...Wasn't.
It was difficult to explain, and even within the dream realm, it was a confusing sight. The portions of Donein's body that would have-Were supposed to be touching the table just stopped, the abomination walking through like nothing was even there. His waist was constantly shifting and glitching, like a horrible disc error.
Donein quickly closed the distance, and leaned over Compline, bringing his hand up to lightly run a finger down her cheek.
"So? Happy, Sadness, ̷Jo͞y̵,͏ ̛Ąnger. They are all but for naught compared to the bleak eternity of the void. Compared to a being such as me, or even you, th̵èse are but mere conc̡e͘ssions in the space of a lifetime. The human em͡o̸ţio̧ns͟, they exist only to bring meaning to the a̶ctions of the human subconscious. I have see͡n҉ b̢e̡yond̀ t̡he veil of time, beyond the cracks in ͝s͜p̴ace."
The being gestured to the room around him, still slightly warping and glitching from his mere presence.
"Why shou̧ļd́ ͢Ì ͏not give these dreams a taste of the true horror̶s͡ o̧f t̷h͝iş r͟ea҉l̵m? My dear, making people un͘h҉àp̀p͠y?̸ What lies behind the veil makes these mere ́d̛iśt͘óŕtíơn͞s ̨l͠oo̴k ̕l͡i͘k̶e ̀a̧ fuc͡k͞ińg͝ p͏icnic͟."
Donein's voice continued to glitch, getting worse as his explanation furthered. He continued staring directly into Complines eyes, seemingly staring into her soul. Even should she try to close her eyes, she would likely still feel his gaze. Cold, sharp, unforgiving....And patient.
His voice never changed tone above one that wouldn't be out of place behind a lectern at a university, even with the glitches. He sounded less like the madman he truly was, and more like a stern father explaining the facts of life. He could stay here all day, until Compline agreed with him.
Then he leaned forward, whispering into Complines ear, his voice cold and dripping with vile.
"Tell me again, my dear. Why should I care about these d̪̱̘̩͈ͪͣ̓̎r͚͓̻̙̺͊̇e̹ͦ͗ͫ̏a͈͓̲̤͊̐ͣͣ͆m̟̓̉̀́͢s̯̰̺̩͊̔ͦ̃͡?"
