Pham Thi Anh Sang

Summer was the best time of year because that meant Anh Sang could get lots of new light to play with all day long. While neither knowing nor caring that she was dreaming, the girl was happily painting full rainbows in the prettiest blue sky she had ever seen as the sun shone brightly without giving any heat.

As she pranced over a hill, however, she stopped dead in her tracks. At the base, there were. Cats. Cats everywhere, all surrounding this man that she had never seen. But being young and petless, there was only one thought in her mind.

"KITTY!"

Nia never had experienced a dream before. She understood the concept of them but she had no idea how one would feel. She didn't really understand sleep that much either; most nights she just laid in bed and let her mind buzz with thoughts and worries until eventually she just fell asleep. She woke up with the sun and it never felt like any time had passed, like she had only blinked.

Nia stood on a dock, her back to the island, carnival, and people with her eyes staring out into the ocean. All she could see was water. The water looked strange to her though, almost as if it was perfectly still yet somehow stormy. The colors felt off and the environment around her felt almost fish eyed in view. It sort of made the young girl feel sick to her stomach.

However, she couldn't seem to drag her eyes away from the water. The wind blew against her face, causing the blue dress she always wore to flutter slightly in the breeze. The wind around her seemed so strong but the wind that touched her felt so light.

As she was staring at the water, she noticed something that didn't seem quite right. A chair...just floating on the water. It seemed to move quickly from barely visible on the horizon to only twenty or so yards away in less than a minute. However, once it was close enough for Nia to make out a person and the other objects around, she had completely forgotten that it had moved at all; it seemed as if the chair and the person had always been there.

"Hello! Do you need assistance?" It took the girl a moment to realize that the words had come out of her own mouth, as if of their own accord.

Compline

The collective dream lurking around Manta Carlos was a sort of open secret. Everybody knew about it, nobody really spoke about it. For Compline, it was almost the same as being alive again. With the high traffic of people coming in and out, she never found herself bored inside of the collective. Not always in a good way. But at least she was never bored, that was very important to her values.

The spirit glided above a sea of wheat on a platform of mist, lying flat on her stomach and watching the few butterflies far under her. Some sort of child was playing with their powers and Compline found the entire thing fascinating to watch. She hadn't had a spectacular power in life so it was nice to see what other people had, even if it made her kind of jealous.

Donein opened his eyes to the familiar feeling of being in a dream. This was strange though, unlike the normal states he entered when he went into a resting state. He could sense other life forms wandering about. Strange.

Oh well. He had seen stranger things beyond the veil, this didn't phase him much. He dusted off his trench coat, and wandered into the distance, looking for something to do.

Compline

And then, from somewhere deep in the dream, Compline felt a disturbance in the force. Also as if somebody had just sued her for copyright infringement.

She knew what monsters felt like in the dream realm but right now, something simply felt. Bad. It was an unclear feeling but a job was a job. With a huff, she hopped off of her cloud and into a hazy corridor of generic dreams and went to find the issue.

Lei Feng

Lei never really liked the ocean. It was salty, icky, and marine animals were just weird.

This is brought up, because Lei woke up with her body submerged in the ocean. Icy blue eyes watched the passing of several marine creatures, from the tiniest catfish to silhouettes of giant squids looming like clouds of death overhead. After the school of blue fish passed by, Lei saw...

Lei saw.........

A teardrop. With a horn.

"NARWHALS!??!??!??!??!?"

NARWHALS ARE NOT FUCKING REAL.

Pham Thi Anh Sang

Speaking of cat-somethings, Anh Sang had been running after the kitten for quite some time and it never crossed her mind that she couldn't actually focus on what it looked like. One moment it was striped, another moment, it was solid grey.

And then she stepped into what she thought was a puddle and suddenly it became a lake. Another step and it became an ocean and the kitty disappeared and became a fishy looking thing instead. A fish-cat crossbreed.

And somebody close by was screaming like a girl.

Alexander Donein

Donein wandered through the corridors, idly glancing into every other room or so. Nothing particularly interesting, though he did find a lovely little dream brought on by some sort of nervous tension. It only got worse when he poked his head in, his nasty aura tainting the dream quickly, spiraling it out of control. Donein laughed to himself, and continued on his way, when he felt a presence coming closer, seemingly homing in on him.

Well, he couldn't be rude and keep moving if he was going to have company, now could he? The abomination smiled, adjusting his tie and staying put. He could wait.

Compline

Something was wrong, something was really wrong. Going after nightmares was already hard enough but the feeling around this particular one was awful and she hadn't even found it yet. Maybe I should call in help, she thought. But Compline had always been seen as the kid of the group -not a hard thing since she had been ten when she was recruited and technically was still ten- and she didn't want the others to see her scared off just because something was different.

The corridors were already becoming progressively more tainted as she moved on. Her own aura seemed to be doing very little against it...
