"Cold and... food..?" The albino had no idea why Aiden would be wanting cold, but there were enough hints for him to assume that the guy just wanted it. Food, he understood. And he knew where to get some. For the cold.... Paradox can only think of the shades. Away from the sun and away from the crowd. That's cold enough, right? Unless he meant snow or ice, then Paradox might just take him to the walk-in freezer inside the cafeteria kitchen. Although what's the fun in staying there?

"Cafeteria's serving really good food," he then said. But he had to momentarily halt, take out his phone and look at the time, before putting it away again. "...It's crowded there around this time though. We can't stay there, I hate crowds too."

He looked out the window. It was a habit, and a good one in his opinion. He saw the towers from where they were, which gave him an idea. He grinned, snapping his fingers. "The towers are all concrete. The stairs inside are cold, trust me. You might like it there. And, nobody hangs around dark creepy stairs... except me. What do you think?"

If Aiden okays, he was going to lead the way to the cafeteria first. The guy ought to know how things are there, but he was willing to go through the crowd for both of them, and for food. And then, they'd head to the towers.

Aiden was ready to follow Alec more - up until the bit about it being crowded. That would have had him backing up and away if there hadn't been a crowd behind him; backing into a crowd to escape the guy who might take him through to another crowd didn't make much sense.

Concrete towers and stairwells? Stairs tended to be cooler, but not cold. He did not express confidence, but he might as well follow Alec. He had succeeded in getting him through the hallway crowd, after all. Following him must be a good idea.

Right?

And he hadn't made any recent moves to grab him or touch him or anything, and hadn't asked spectacularly awkward questions. Even if following him wasn't a good idea, so far it wasn't the worst idea.

Alec seemed to be waiting on a response. Bleehhh. "We can try them," he said eventually, meaning both food and the stairwells. He did need food, and he did need cold. Or at least not-hot.

Paradox grinned. "Great! Let's get food first then."

The tower stairways were indeed only cool, not very cold. They were only cold at night, and Paradox-- Alec-- usually roamed around at night.

They reached the cafeteria a few minutes later. On their way, Paradox had made sure they stuck with the shades, and away from crowds. The cafeteria itself was filled with people though. The albino released a groan, seeing these people from the entrance. He turned to Aiden with a shrug.

"I'll go. What do you want? Sandwich? Rice? Noodles?"

After Aiden chooses, Paradox would then attempt to get to a counter to get food for both of them. He'll just ask people to let him pass, just like what he did in the hallway.

Alec's enthusiasm was so very disconcerting, and yet Aiden was still following him. It was all so strange, but there he was at the edge of the cafeteria.

".......uhhh sandwich?" He felt so very vaguely lost. He should just stick with Alec, shouldn't he? Then he would at least be less lost? Ughhhh the logic jump hurt his head. He turned his back to the wall and slowly slid down it, rubbing his forehead over his sunglasses and trying to stop thinking. Thinking was painful and difficult and annoying and he didn't want to follow his thoughts. He'd follow Alec before his own thoughts.

"Sandwich. Got it." Paradox waved once before fading into the crowd of the cafeteria. For a moment. After a few seconds, one would see how the crowds started making way for him so he can get to the counter quick. It's similar to what he did in the hallway. He returned around ten minutes later, holding two huge three-layered club sandwiches and two bottles of grape soda. "Hope you're okay with these," he said, holding out one of each to Aiden. "Club sandwich. Grape soda."

With Alec vanished into the crowd, there was little to distract Aiden from sinking into his own thoughts. The leader-kid wasn't gone long, though, and honestly could be tracked pretty well by the inverted wake wherever he went.

Aiden was still sitting on the floor when Alec returned, and had to stiffly haul himself back to his feet in order to accept the food. "Thank... you..." he said quietly, voice low and reserved. Grape soda? Really not his favourite, but the bottle was cool and he really needed that. The sandwich.... was not what he had expected. What was the point of such a huge sandwich? Alec had gone to all that trouble for it, though, so it would be rude to complain or even hesitate. He'd have to figure out how to eat it without making a mess or a fool of himself, though. He had been expecting a regular sandwich.

First things first, though. "Stairwell?" he prompted, rolling the cool bottle in his hand and trying to not obviously wish he could suck every ounce of cold out of it - or, well, technically push all of his excess heat into it? Bah, science could go take a flying leap off a tall cliff into a bottomless whirlpool.

"Sure, stai--" Paradox froze for good two seconds, before snapping out and seemingly forgetting what he was about to say. Confused eyes stared at Aiden before looking around to realize that he was outside the cafeteria. Furrowed brows met above his nose. Slowly his face relaxed, and the confusion eventually faded. Aiden wouldn't know just yet, but the real Alec had just woken up and taken over his body, and Paradox filled him in with the details as quick as possible before retreating into the back of his mind. "...Oh right. Stairwell."

He still looked a little unsure, but he knew Aiden now just as much as Paradox did. He smiled at him gently before printing back to the exit of the building. "Let's go?" he asked. "You know, the towers aren't exactly the coldest place around during daytime. But at night, I swear it's freezing." He gestured for Aiden to follow as he himself began walking. "By the way, why go you want to go to a cold place, Aiden?" Unlike Paradox, Alec's way of speaking was... too gentle. He can't help it. Paradox was still another identity and he cannot be like him.

............................what?

Aiden blinked at Alec through his sunglasses, trying to figure out if he should be concerned at the look of confusion. It passed, though, and he was still convinced to follow him. If Alec had dealt with whatever had happened, then Aiden would let him be.

Uncertainty in someone to be followed was disturbing, though, and Aiden hesitated before moving after Alec. And now this admission that the stairwell wasn't the coldest place around? It wasn't night. Being cold at night didn't help him now. Besides, students wandering around at night was frowned upon by management, wasn't it? Maybe that was just an assumption, based off his past experiences... but still.

His uncertainty and hesitation lingered even as he kept following Alec, and it took him a while to respond. "I don't do well in heat, especially recently," he finally said. "Some side effect or something, apparently."

Alec chuckled. "I see. Alright, come this way."

He turned to the right when a path revealed itself. Strangely, that direction moved away from the towers, and not towards them. But Alec hoped Aiden would trust him a little, since he knew some other cold place that Paradox might have forgotten.

The path led to a quiet part of the school. There was almost nothing but trees here, except for the warehouse that greeted them. "Aiden, look," he pointed to the building. "I have no idea why there's a warehouse in the first place. There are all kinds and sizes of packages inside. And. The heat inside is controlled by a thermostat. But it's kept to a very low temperature. Like a fridge. Strange, right?"

Aiden balked at the change in direction, but Paradox's influence lingered. He wasn't a rebel by nature anyway; he was just wimping out and concerned about not being forewarned about this change in plans.

He still followed Alec, though, even if it was with vastly increased wariness and a lot of watching the environment. He wasn't even running worst case scenarios in his head, but he couldn't resist being aware of anything that might be coming.

He wasn't expecting a warehouse, and for a moment he thought about how well this would fit with horror stories - except for the part where they had been around enough people for it to be clear that Alec had interacted with Aiden recently.

Besides, what would really be the worst part about being the victim in a murder? "Cold is good," he said vaguely, and drank some of his soda to avoid having to say anything else. If this was going to go sour, they might as well get it over with.
