The snake was a strange weight, but Coete tried to focus on sorting his energy out. Despite everything, or perhaps because of it - he couldn't quite focus enough to be sure - he nodded off a bit while Coraline was gone, and roused to her voice and the contrast of cold water against her hand.

He reached for it, and made it to a sitting position this time. It still took a moment to be able to drink, and when he did he shivered. Lack of control was still hard on him, and his scales still had some insulating to do. "Thank you," he said quietly.
