This is Halloween: Costume Parade

Someone with one giant tentacle! The child immediately detached from Kiara's leg and skittered over to Elizabeth, little leg tentacles kind of slapping against the ground in their haste to poke the GIANT TENTACLE.

And then they looked back at the commotion-y people.

"He can't eat me! I could eat him though. But I'm not allowed to. No eating people." The child nodded briskly, a little sad at the restriction because it made for less available food but a little proud to be able to say it without messing up. Just a bit. There were other things going on.

OH they had missed a question! "I don't have parents here," they said, not really sad at the lack. Not right now, anyway. "My mom's a black hole. We got split up but if she was here she'd eat everything and that would be bad."

"Oh no! Please dont scare anyone gorilla man, thats not nice at all!"

A small tentacle... thing, was warpping itself around Elizabeths snake half, and she curled herself around it protectively, and not in a constrictive way because she was not a constrictor snake.

And then the gorilla man swore at them, she raised herself up above the two of them and crossed her arms, her voice changing from sweet, to a very pissed off mother "You do not use that kind of language young man! Behave yourself!"

Kiara relaxed. The threat was gone, and she could come with the child for trick-o-treating. It was sad that the kid had no parents though. Were they an orphan? She was surprised to have the somewhat meek lamia turn into a raging mother. DAVE really messed up, didn't he? Well, technically the mom squad messed up when evaluating threat levels, but really, DAVE was in a gorilla suit offering candy to a child he didn't know.

Then there was the matter of the child eating leaves. Yeah, this child definitely needed food.

"Okay! I'm ready to go when you aren't in immense pain~"

The leaf-eating kid was all for random strangers feeding them. It made for a lot more food and a lot less fuss than just scrounging around all the time.

Plus it was totally cool being snugged up in the giant scaly painted tentacle. They patted the sleek muscle with their tiny tiny hands and watched the drama.

"I don't have a name. I'm just hungry!"

Elizabeth lowerd herself back down to her usual height and returned to her average calm self. "My name is Elizabeth." her voice also returned to its usual sound. She continued to pat the small... tentacle...thing... With her tail.
