"I'm okay with having to work to light grass fires constantly," Yun vaguely agreed. "Walking in the rain is horrible at this height. Plus I can't hold an umbrella in this form." He huffed and rolled onto his side, tail twitching as he stared out the window.
Rain. Yet another casual innocent thing that made life like this a pain in the ass. He didn't want to live like this.

This form...? Oh! That reminded Daniel of something he wanted to ask.
"Oh, that reminds me." Yeah Danny I just said that. "You said you were stuck in that form right? How so, if you don't mind me asking."

"I'm a shapeshifter, and this is one of my forms," Yun said, tone a bit stiff. It was a bit of a sensitive subject, overall. He wanted his freedom back. He wanted his life back.
He was smart enough to know he couldn't get his dad back, but his own life still belonged to him even if he couldn't touch it.
"Someone cursed me," he continued after a long pause. "He wanted to sell me as a familiar, although he didn't account for my opinion much. Fortunately. Gave me a chance to shred his stupid face and get the hell out of there."

Daniel's sudden attention was an immediate red flag for Yun, and the fur along his spine slowly poked upwards. His eyes narrowed and his ears shifted back a bit, but he didn't growl quite yet.
"The kind that constantly tries to make me a slave," he said shortly, watching Danny carefully to gauge his reaction. "Hence the sell-as-a-familiar bit. It also keeps me from shifting or using any of my magic, more as a side effect than anything else but just as bad."

Danny nodded, frowning slightly. That information helped, but it wasn't quite what the libriomancer was looking for.
"I'm sorry to hear that...But what kind of curse is it? A curse on you, a cursed artifact, a wish gone wrong, a hex, a charm...?"
He probed, trying to get more specific answers out of Yun.

Okay, that was a more tolerable reason for excessive interest. Yun understood interest in magic; even now, if he came across healing magic he wasn't familiar with he wanted to learn more about it.
"Technically? From what I've been able to work out - I've been trying to get rid of it for as long as I've been stuck with it - it's a complex sort of enchantment that involves being tangled in the connections between my soul and everything else, mostly my magic. I know more about it from what I know of the caster, unfortunately. This is his area of speciality."
For which Yun was eternally annoyed. "Ritualistic magic, I didn't see much of the specific circles involved but almost all of it was pre-established."

Daniel nodded as Yun spoke, a sly smile spreading across his face. "I might be able to help you with your little curse problem." Daniel pulled out a small burlap bag, and fished a small fantasy book. Daniel started rapidly flipping through the pages rapidly.
