WOOO EAST COAST USA! *makes faux-gang signs*

Actually I don't know if I count as East Coast since I'm in Pennsylvania and we don't really have a shore line....but...naw, totally east coast anyway.

Oh gosh, that's amazing that you've had the experience with all those languages. Was it a hobby or a school requirement? Either way is still pretty badass.

Welcome again to SA! I hope you enjoy your time here!

Hi, ReD! =D It's nice to meet you too!

Yeah, sometimes I'm not sure if I count as east coast anymore either.. I live in northern Virginia but I go to college in central Ohio.

Eh, I went to a private school for K-8th. They stuck us all into French to start with and then into Latin in seventh grade. I continued French through freshman year in high school before dropping it. I carried Latin into sophomore year because that was the highest level they offered.

German was because I suddenly realized that without Latin, I'd be without language for the first time in my entire school life. Spanish was because I didn't want to take Calculus in senior year and I figured that no admissions office would turn down a transcript with ten foreign language credits but only three math.

Mandarin is because I'd be ashamed to call myself Chinese without being able to speak at least one dialect. Japanese is because I really like anime and manga. My short stint in Korean was because I figured I might as well hit up on all the east Asian languages offered at my college.

>.< That's kind of a long explanation, sorry... But um. I like being able to read across many languages, even if my speaking is poor.
