The Bonfire Event

"Look, lady, if you're going to be staring at me all day, you might want to sit down at least. Maybe kneel if you're into that? I don't know. Don't stick too close though - you'll burn, which is fine by me but at least don't do it this early." Turning his head once again to face the two men, Teddy found his not-flaming hand resting on the girl's head and absentmindedly patting it. It was a pleasant feeling, and he wasn't paying attention to her reactions in the slightest.

A faint sound of laughter caught his attention, and his light patting stopped as he looked around to find the source of that sound. It made him stand, and slowly he walked around the bonfire and found a little child poking at the flame. Still ablaze, he put up a stern glare and plucked the stick out of her hands. "Kid, don't poke the fire... you'll start a new one. Don't do that. It's slightly not nice."

Volkan wasn't exactly sure what was happening. He was staring at a burning mana guy, and some other people are starting to crowd... That's good, that's good... But he didn't know how to deal with people.

So the first thing he did was put out the fire around the mana guy. With just a snap of his fingers, the flames immediately went 'poofffff' and became smoke. There was indeed a smell to it. And Volkan crinkled his nose unknowingly.

"You," he nodded at the mana person, "Don't set yourself on fire, please. For other people's sake."

He fidgeted suddenly, feeling as if he's talked too much with that deep voice of his. And he wanted to apologize, but at the same time he knew he didn't have a reason to. He looked left and right and left and right, he also glanced at the other silent person beside him, scratching his nape before bringing his hand down to his side. "I'm Volkan, uh... I'd really appreciate it if we keep the flames to the bonfire..."

Kody leaned in to the pat on her head and smiled. Her attention was immediately taken from the child with the purple eyes and placed back upon the man with the suit of purple. Admittedly the entire suit of purple was just..more of the thing she craved the most and, if only for split second, she wondered why she had been willing to look away from that for a single set of purple eyes. The girl did move to a kneeling position at the fire's edge as she waited patiently for Teddy to return and continue to pat her because if not she would have to seek him out again. The fire on the man's form was out now and she side eyed him, hands reaching out towards his purple suit since she could now touch it.

Josuke could only blink further at the weirdo, who was still very much on fire, as he continued to more or less make a spectacle of himself. His train of thought was interrupted by the sound of fingers snapping (presumably from the tall man beside him), followed by the disappearance of the fire on the weirdo. Hopefully he wouldn't have to worry about that guy again, as the taller man started to talk again.

He offered a small smile before replying. "I'm Josuke. Nice to meet you, Volkan.... So, you control fire, huh?"

Someone has calling her out for poking the fire? Ughh Artesia didnt want to deal with annoying people today, she only wanted to watch the fire. She pulled her stick out of the flame and looked over to the person, who was translucent and light blu-... whatever who cared what they looked like. "Dont worry yourself with me, you just do you and ill be me..." her voice was very quiet as she didnt really want to talk to this person.

Emily began fidgeting a little bit, her eyes drifting around at the scenery rather then being directed at Rory. "N-No... No r-rule, n-no... it's just... it's b-bad manners to t-take other people's things... without asking..."

She timidly took the card back from him and shuffled it back into the deck. "H-Had I been doing a reading... Th-Then yes, it would have been one part of m-my cards... B-B-But I wasn't really... s-so..."

Em just sat silently, regathering her composure while Rory got the things for s'mores. She actually giggled a little at his statement, more at how he said it really. "Yes, I've had s'mores... They are rather good..." She accepted the skewer and marshmallow, and after a moment of preparation, stuck the glob of sugar carefully out over the flames.

The sudden drop in warmth created a small furrow in Teddy's now visibly blue eyebrow. He'd have set himself on fire again but with that tall person around, he'd just get put out quickly. Reluctantly, he shambled back to where he was earlier, feet dragging through the ground.

He sat himself down with a sigh, crossing his right leg over his left and letting both simply phase inside the earth. Being disobedient to physics felt more and more natural the longer he stayed alive, and as he started to slowly sink into the ground he considered his options. There was that girl to the side who seemed to be a bit obsessed with some part of him, which was very new, and there were these two more normal people who would probably want to not have him around.

Naturally, he went for the latter.

"You know, you shouldn't really have put me out," he said, inspecting his palms. "I was just getting cozy and - well, you made it cold."

Riley had still only been here for a few days, and not met very many people. He had debated whether or not he would attend since first hearing about it, but when the time came it was an easy decision to make. It had been easy enough to follow the light from the flames to find the bonfire.

When he entered the area, the first thing Riley noticed was that there were a lot of people there already. He glanced around but didn't really take in much. Instead, he made his way over to grab a skewer and stick a couple marshmallows on it. At the very least, he could enjoy a little snack.

Riley meandered back to the flames and sat on a log nearby. Rather than holding his skewer out to toast the white puffs, he concentrated to draw a small globe of fire from the bonfire. The globe flew the couple feet towards him through the air and hovered over his left hand. Riley used this small amount of flame to roast his marshmallows.

After having recieved the eye she had been after the girl soon found herself and her attention wondering. She parted ways with the crowd, which no longer held any interest for her, and made a beeline for the surrounding wooded area alone.

With her hands still out stretched to touch the cooling man's purple suit she paused for only a moment to take in what exactly he was doing. The man was disappearing in to the ground! Was that..possible? Should it be? Part of her mind told her it was absolutely not possible but another part of her was utterly delighted by the sight of it. The girl brought her hands together and beamed. On bent knees she shuffled close to Teddy, "I want to do that!" She squealed and then reached out to grab his shoulders. The palms of her hands warmed to the touch as they sought out the purple of the suit and attempted to sink it in to their very flesh.

Rory looked suitably chastised for touching things that weren't his. "In that case I do apologize for my behavior." He shifted the marshmallow more directly in to the flames to char it just the way he liked it. While watching the girl out of the corner of his eye he saw the way she seemed to shuffle the cards with sturdier hands but the nervousness in her voice stood in a startling contrast. He wondered what that was about but didn't press the issue especially if it was something she didn't want to have attention drawn to.

"So..is reading the cards part of your talent? Can you read palms too?" He only had one experience to base his words off of and the woman he knew who could read cards could also read palms and she was scarily accurate at times. He spoke the words and then out of the corner of his eye he saw Riley sneak in and sit down. The blonde waved at him and motioned him over while all the while hoping he didn't make an idiot out of himself again.

It was easy enough to remove the gooey marshmallow once it was done. Riley had removed one and eaten it, and was just licking his fingers when he noticed Rory waving at him. He blushed at getting caught being messy, but quickly stood and moved to sit over near him.

Riley wore a smile, giving the girl with Rory a little wave. "Hope I'm not interrupting anything," he said. Riley went to sit down next to Rory. He was already a little more comfortable sitting with somebody he knew, even if they'd only talked for a little while once before.
