Coatzin was taking a small walk around the campus’ courtyard, she didn’t had anything else to do at the moment and she decided to just chill for a bit. Usually she would fly instead of walking, but right now she just wanted to explore a bit and maybe meet a couple of students like her, and since she had noticed that guys with the ability of flight were pretty rare around here it was obvious that this would prove to be quite a challenge if she just decided to open her wings and start flying around the academy instead.

The sun landed gently on her colorful feathers, making them appear like if they were somehow glowing, the light that was loosely reflected on them mixed with her movements giving out a small effect that tricked the eyes to think that the colors were changing, even if they weren’t at all. Her yellow viper eyes looked around her carefully, taking quick notice of all the students around her. Most of them were with their own friends, talking or studying, and even with her friendly behavior she didn’t felt secure enough to just walk towards one of those groups of students and say hi.

It was then when she noticed a girl with dark brown hair walking alone as well. She immediately started to walk towards her, the portion of her tail that wasn’t curled around her waist and abdomen moving from side to side rather elegantly. She still wasn’t used to her new surroundings, so she didn’t dared to allow her long tail to move freely, fearing to accidentally hit someone else with it, make them trip or having someone stepping on it by accident “Hello there!” She greeted cheerfully before waiting for the girl’s reply, that way she would be able to know if she was in the mood to talk or not.

Ah! The courtyard. A place that had given her some rather weird memories. From being a temporary maid, hired by two 'noble men', to being talked to by time-traveling twins. Sighing happily as she lightly laughed over her past experiences, she was happy and excited to make more weird memories. "So." She said quiet loudly, as she pranced through the courtyard, looking at everyone that passed her with a bright smile, as everyone there was her long lost relative. It was weird to see all the people in groups, some of them looking as if they had just been proposed to, and others looking as if they were about to cry. Two extremes. Pulling her hands behind her, she she stayed on the courtyard path, as her strides would most likely ruin the bed of grass that was around her. Her nice combat boots, darker than the night, with bright yellow laces. Her favorites. Also outfitted with black matching undergarments, two brown undershirts, with a flowy dark purple tank top. On the bottom, a pair of striped purple, blue and yellow leggings. Looking down at her outfit, she stopped and looked at her shoes in happiness.

Being a bit startled as someone said something around her, she jumped, almost loosing her balance to the sound, but after waving her arms around, she regained it, turning to a girl, that looked pretty unique to her. "Hey! Sorry about that, I was focusing on my boots." Smiling, she took a stop closer to her, extending her hand out. "I like your..." Kiyana leaned to her right, seeing something behind the girl. "Tail. I'm Kiyana, nice to meet you."

Coatzin put a hand over her mouth in an attempt to hold back her laugh when the girl jumped after she greeted her. It wasn’t her intention to startle her, but she couldn’t help it, she looked a bit hilarious waving her arms around to regain her balance. Well, at least she didn’t had to deal with a bunch of puffed up feathers that made her look utterly ridiculous each time she got scared or startled, right?

“Don’t worry, sorry for startling you by the way” She looked at her boots, curious “I can understand why you were distracted, your boots are really nice” She raised her head when the girl complimented her tail, reacting by raising her wing to look at it and moving it around a bit with a smile before returning her gaze at her “Well, thank you. I’m Coatzin, it’s a true pleasure to meet you Kiyana!” Cool, maybe this meeting wouldn’t count as a newly made friendship, but at least she finally got to meet another student and that was just plain awesome! “I’m new around here, I know that it’s a bit weird for new students to arrive at this time of the year, but hey! I’m not the most common girl around anyways, right?” Coatzin even flapped her wings a bit just to accentuate her words “Anyways, mind if I try to sneak in into casual conversation by asking what are you up to?” Her cheerful words were in the middle point between a calm conversation and a joke.

Coatzin loved to make new friends and this was pretty obvious, but even if this was the case she had a bit of trouble at starting the conversations most of the time, so she always used the joking factor a bit just to break the ice and lighten the mood around her.

Kiyana felt a bit bad for not complimenting the other parts of the girl that made her different. Smiling as she complimented her boots, she tapped her heels together, lifting herself up slightly higher, which made her look taller than she was. "Thank you." She said quietly, not wanting to make the conversation all about herself. As she moved her wings around, she noticed how beautiful they really were. Se wanted to ask the girl were and how she got them, but that would be the equivalent of asking someone where they got their fingers or teeth.

She was surprised to hear that the girl was new, as she carries herself as if she had been here her entire life, if she ran the place. Maybe that was just because she had a false idea of what new people were supposed to look like. "It's not that weird, I joined at a weird time too. Not a lot of people even join at the appropriate time anyways." She smiled, trying to cheer her up, even though she wasn't sure that the girl needed that.

"Oh, I am literally just walking. Watching people, looking. I like to just observe things as if they aren't supposed to be there. Or maybe just to freak people out." And giggled lightly, as her stares were usually never well regarded. "And you? Just exploring?"

Well, it was a really nice thing to know that she wasn’t the only student that came around at rather unusual times, so probably she would be able to fit in a bit better than she originally expected. She probably should’ve supposed this earlier though, since the school was overall a bit out of the ordinary, so this kind of weird stuff shouldn’t be that weird, right?

She laughed with Kiyana after she answered her small ice-breaking question, this girl was quite amusing and for some reason she felt comfortable around her, probably because she was her first friend around this place “Yup, exploring and trying to meet new people. I’m sure that you’ll understand that when you just arrive the academy can become a huge maze, until you finally manage to get used to it and learn to move around” She just shrugged this off, the academy was obviously big and it would take her a while to know where to go without getting lost, probably a bit of help would allow her to speed up this process “You have any tips that you could give me?” She was hoping that this girl had been around here for long enough to help her out, but if it turned to be otherwise…well, at least they could get lost together.

Kiyana felt as if she really could relate the to girl, as she was bubbly and happy and fun too, not that Kiyana described herself by those traits. She was very interesting to Kiyana, full of life. "Exploring!" She said quickly after the girl had finished. "That, I am an expert of. This island is so awesome, don't you agree?" She contnued, stepping a bit closer. "But I have to say, I wouldn't be very helpful to give directs to you." She almost whispered, as she had never been good with navigation or directions. "But I would be more than happy to try and show you the way to anywhere you feel like going. Icould at least try, or get lost trying." She smiled bright, nodding at the girl. "Getting lost with someone else is the fun of it, right? That's the whole point! So no, I don't really have any tips, execpt to have soeone else with you."

Coatzin nodded with the girl’s words, this islands were proving to be quite an interesting place to explore, full of mysteries around every corner that she was willing to find and investigate. She already had found a lot of things that had caught her interest in a flash and she had only been around very specific areas of the academy, so she couldn’t help but wonder what else she would be able to find around.

She didn’t felt upset when the girl answered her question with a negative, even if she was hoping for a couple of tips or some advice, but hey, at least the girl thought the same way that she did about the getting lost together, which was obviously really nice “Well, if I’m given the choice, I would obviously prefer to get lost with someone than get lost alone in such a huge place, plus, for what I had already seen in these islands I can say that getting lost can end up being a cool adventure after all!” Positive as always, getting lost would make most people get scared or at least nervous, but she saw the chance of actually getting herself and her friend an adventure!

She looked around before looking back at the girl “Talking about exploring, you want to go somewhere or just rake a walk?”.

Smiling as she replied to her reply, she felt a lot happier that they thought the same. "Getting lost is fun!" She said happily, as she added to her opinion. Kiyana, tilted her head to the left slightly, as she thought of all of the adventures that she should some day go on, on the island of course. There was so much that she hadn't even considered doing. She usually stayed by the school, for whatever reason.

"You want to walk with me? Yeah, I'd really like that!" She chirped to her, happy that the girl had asked. "Like where? Just around here? We could ask each other questions? If that interests you, or not that's okay too."

Coatzin smiled cheerfully at the girl’s reaction towards her own, it was so cool to actually start getting to know people, and what could potentially be a friend as well! “Well, we can ask each other whatever we want while we think of a more interesting place to explore, right?” With that she started to walk around the sunny place with Kiyana at her side.

An idea quickly popped into her mind “Ok, since I was the one with the idea I’ll start. You look really nice and like a super cool girl, but I couldn’t help but wonder, what brought you to these islands?” The girl looked as a common human, and since she was sure that they should be really rare she was curious. Maybe this girl had powers?
