Wei's dorm room window was thrown open as he curled up in his bed for the night. The room was narrow but long, with small Chinese decorations that he'd found around Manta Carlos and decided was cheap enough and nice enough for him to want to have it. There was a giant decorative fan on one wall that depicted the story of Sun Wu Kong, posters for Chinese Musicals, and a pinup of a banana in a bikini he found while surfing the web once.

The internet was great.

The floor was mostly open and clear, except for in the corner, where a small pile of clothing was accumulating.

This big set of buildings, specifically this big building in the set of big buildings, was a veritable goldmine for warm beds and fresh snuggles. Audrey could just drift through walls and hallways until he picked a room to float into.

This one was great. Colourful decoration-toys to play with after he'd slept - or, well, after a brief nap that would last until night had truly settled, at which point he would probably wake up with ALL THE ENERGY EVER and race around like a maniac - comfy clothing piles to pounce on and scatter everywhere - he did that now, teehee - and all that sort of jazz.

The solid-looking ghost rolled across the floor, wrestling with a stray shirt, before bounding onto the bed to try to bury himself under the covers. It was harder than it sounded, since if he lost his tangibility they'd just fall through him and he'd have to pick them up again.

Wei was a somewhat deep sleeper. He'd learned that if you ever wanted to get any rest at all, you had to get used to sleeping deeply. He'd learned that lesson one harsh summer when the police sirens wouldn't stop blaring every fifteen minutes and he woke up with his face sallow and the skin under his eyes saggy and blue.

So he slept as an intruder came in the wrestled with his clothes, even though he did roll over to get into a slightly quieter position.

It wasn't until Audrey climbed into his bed did the Monkey child twitch and wake up. He stared at his dorm wall for a moment, wondering if he'd accidentally slept over at Arren's house and been tucked into his bed. He realized that no, that isn't what happened, because Arren didn't keep his window this open at night.

"What the hell...?" He said groggily in Chinese, lifting up the covers to see what was happening.

The covers were moving on their own? Audrey must attack them and show them who was boss! He pounced, which was rather dramatic considering he was the size of an average teenaged human, and clawed at the sheets.

Ohhhh there was someone there. Audrey blinked at him, green-yellow eyes glinting in the lowish light, and his ears twitched.

He squinted a bit, and scrunched his face like he was flicking his whiskers. He didn't have whiskers anymore and that bothered him. How was he supposed to know if he could fit through spaces-—-

wait a minute, he didn't have to fit. He could just go through things. Righto.

He patted the monkey kid's face in greeting. "Hi. Your blankets are mean and move. I had to punish them."

Wei was too tired for this, he decided.

He decided that based on the fact that he thought there was a catboy sitting on his bed when that couldn't possibly be the case because there weren't any catboys living in his room. He wasn't even sure if there were any catboys living in his dorm.

What the hell.

Wei blinked placidly as his face was patted by this cat. It was taller than him, which in and of itself wasn't new. Everyone was taller than him, after all.

"My blankets are--" Wei just closed his eyes and yawned. "When did you get into my room?"

@"A M E N O"

That was not a very dramatic reaction. Audrey patted the boy's face a little bit more, just to see if anything would change, and then gave up and squirmed under the blankets again.

Ooh a yawn, ehehehe-—- awww the yawn stopped before Audrey could pat the monkey kid's face again. That was too bad.

"Oh! Just recently. There are lots of comfy places around here. Your room looked fun!" The humanized kitten purred. Loudly.

Wei let his face be patted, and the action, repeated enough, made him start laughing. Damn it. This was a cute guy. Tall kitten in his room. He yawned again and wanted to go back to bed, but hey, it wasn't every day there was just.

A human cat in your room.

Wei reached up and gave the kitten a pet on the head. "Don't you have someplace to be this late at night?"

Some part of Wei's brain knew that if he'd been a little more awake what the kitten had just said would make perfect sense to him. But given that he was in a weird limbo haze of somehow simultaneous pre-and-post-sleep, only every third word was actually getting parsed by his brain.

"Well thats.... good." He was pretty sure it was supposed to be good, at least.

"So, you're a cat then?"
