"Mmmmmmngh." He whined as the cat patted at his face and cheeks, purring loudly to get his attention. Wei's eyes were open but he wasn't quite seeing everything clearly. Oh well. The monkey child laughed and gave him another pet.

"I'm a monkey," He said curtly. There was a more complicated explanation, of course, but he was too tired to give it. "I've always been this exact degree of monkey... although, I used to be fluffier."

Monkey? "I've never met a monkey before," Audrey said in wonder and amazement. "And you used to be fluffiER? Wowwww!" The petting turned into hair-touching, and then the kitten abruptly curled up, tucking the white patch at the top of his head against Wei.

"I like fluffy," he declared, muffled a bit by his position and finally - and suddenly - sounding vaguely sleepy. His tail still twitched under the blankets, and his music box was kinda poking his belly... but right now he just wanted to be curled up.

Wei let out a tired laugh as he gave the excited catboy ghost a pet. He was tired, and it was the first time in a while he thought he might be able to sleep comfortably. Having someone nearby helped, even if the Cat might leave in the middle of the night. Wei rubbed his head softly until he started driftin off. Once he fell asleep his hand slowed and lay relaxed on the bed.

Snuuuggggggllllllyyyyyy. That was the perfect sound for this moment. Audrey purred absently and softly under Wei's gentle pats, and even with the mild discomfort of a music box against his gut it was so very very easy to relax.

He was almost asleep when the patting faded out, and he almost stirred for a moment before he realized that the monkey-child was asleep. Oh. Audrey would have liked to be patted more.

Hm.

He was warm here, and mostly comfortable. Even if he wasn't being patted, he was okay with this; Audrey snuggled a little tighter against Wei, sleepily working in as much contact as he easily could, and faded off to sleep himself with a faint stream of tiny snores.

As Wei slept, the presence of the ghost kitten beside him kept away the unpleasant nightmares and allowed him to dream sweet dreams of home, of home cooked meals that weren't very much but filled him with love and bubbliness at being with his Mama and older brother.

He shifted a little in his sleep, towards Audrey, convinced that he'd actually gone back to sleep with Arren and forgotten.

When he woke up to light in his room, he thought that he dreamed up the ghost cat that rummaged through his dirty clothes.

Wei hadn't dreamed up anything. Audrey had, uh, just forgotten about his tangibleness somewhere in the night and sunk underneath the bed.

He was very surprised when he woke up, and started to move only to smack his head. Apparently he'd both forgotten to be tangible AND to be intangible, in the most awkward order available.

"Owwwww," he whined, trying to paw at his bruised head but just hitting the underside of the bed with his arms too. "OOOOWWWWW."

After rubbing the sleep out of his eyes and stretching to wake himself up, he came to the conclusion that dream or no dream, it was the nicest dream he'd had in a while. He found something basically satisfying about just being able to sleep and not have that horrible nightmare again.

The was, until he heard a thump and then someone saying ow. And then another thump, and the same voice again. It was familiar to him...

Wei glanced under his bed, his head upside down as he looked under the bed. Imagine his surprise when he saw the kitten he had assumed to be a dream just. Under his bed.

Wow.

"Uhm," he said, not sure what exactly he was supposed to say in the situation where your dreams become reality. "H... hello there."

Owwwiiieeeee that wasn't at all fair. Why was there something hard there? Hadn't he been surrounded by warm and soft and snuggliness? He wanted the snuggliness back, not this mean hard cold emptiness.

......there was an upside down face, hahhhh that was funny. Audrey immediately felt better, ears perking up at the sight, and sprang out from under... and kind of through the bed, though he managed his intangibility much better this time. Until he skidded partway through the wall, but he came back super quick and he totally meant to do that, yup.

TIME FOR A TOPIC CHANGE.

"Haiiiiiii," he said cheerfully, meandering around the room and poking at things at random. "Your bed is mean on one side and nice on the other. It's not fair."

As the cat sprung out from under his bed, Wei pulled his head back and watched as the cat seemed to disappear into a wall before reappearing again. Wei had no idea what to do with this information, with this excitable ghost cat. Did he have a pet now? Had he just suddenly become the owner of a very strange kitten?

Because if so, he was going to complain about the fact that the ghost was taller than him.

"Yeah," he said, in reference to the comment about his bed being mean on one side. "You aren't really supposed to be on that side of the bed, so--"

The monkey trailed off. "Do you want a banana?" He asked suddenly, reaching to his bedside table where he kept a nice plump bundle of bananas just in case he needed a midnight snack.

"But what if I want to be on that side of the bed? Or fall through it, because that happens. Lots. OH, WHAT IF SOMETHING GOES UNDERNEATH AND I HAVE TO GET IT???"

What if there was something under there now? Audrey dropped to his belly without warning and peered under the bed, tail waving frantically and fingers outright twitching in excitement...

except there was nothing there. He sighed dramatically, and then rolled over.... and bumped his head again. But not quite! He defeated it by going intangible properly, ha ha! Take that, mean side of the bed!

Oh hi Wei. Audrey stayed on his back, hands curled a bit on his chest, and blinked up at the monkey. "Banana? I've never had a banana. Are they fun?"
