Evangeline couldn’t help but laugh a bit when Loch mentioned the little incident on his school, that probably was amusing to see, and though she was sure that it wasn’t funny on the exact moment, especially for the kid on fire, but after the problem was solved that was indeed a story to tell the ones around.

She just sighed with Lochlann’s words “Well, when you’re an angel you have to get used to leave friends behind…or see them die. The only downside of immortality is that you always outlive the ones around you” Evangeline remembered the times on her past with many of her old friends, old friends that she had seen grow up and die…and though she had meet with one or them again in the afterlife, this was extremely rare.

Many of her angels friends had advised her to stop making mortal friends, since the breaking of said bond was always painful, but that is something almost impossible to achieve when you are constantly helping them, and sometimes even acting as their guardian angel during and after the purification process.

“Hm? Eating? You like picnics or going out to eat with your buddies?” She was actually surprised by that specific detail, especially since she never mentioned food…but then, maybe Lochlann was just hungry?

"It's hard to imagine an upside after that," Lochlann said. He sounded pessimistic, and in truth Lochlann probably was a bit cynical, but it was also a subtle indication that he placed a strong emphasis on interpersonal relationships.

He just didn't like to make them. Of course, Lochlann wasn't thinking of this--he was thinking about how much it sucked to watch people you cared about die.

It took him a moment to realize he'd talked about eating.

"Oh, yeah," Lochlann said. "I didn't used to like eating with other people--we didn't do family dinners or that sort of thing when I grew up--but it's...it's nice I gues,s you know? Or wait, do you know--do angels even eat? I'm sorry, Im asking so many questions, I hope I'm not making you uncomfortable."

He wanted to ask her about flying, but that didn't seem apprropriate. every once in a while, he'd glance at her back when the thought crossed his mind.

“Oh, believe me, there are many. It may be hard to see someone you feel close to die, but the memories of your time together is always there. Immortality also allows you to meet all kind of people, and, at least in my case, help them too from time to time. There is nothing that makes me happier than helping those around me to turn their dreams into a reality” Unlike Loch, Evangeline was a lot more optimistic, and she would try to help the ones like him to see the rainbow even in the middle of the darkest storm. There was always hope, you only had to look for it and, once you found it, never let it go.

Evangeline couldn’t help but laugh when Loch started to shoot several questions at her, dear Lord, this guy could be fairly amusing when he wanted to.

“It’s only natural that you would feel curious, so don’t hold that back, just ask whatever is in your mind. And yeah, we eat. We don’t really need to, but is a small pleasure that we like to enjoy from time to time” Evangeline herself liked to try almost all kinds of food that she could find on Earth, and between those she had a couple of favorites. She had to admit it, mortals could be extremely skilled at cooking, to the point of surprising her fairly often.

She noticed his constant glances at her wings and smiled, flapping them a bit in a playful way.

Lochlann missed a step when she talked about the memory of a person never dying. He nodded slowly. He ended up letting too much slip out when he said, "Sometimes I think it'd be easier if those memories died, too."

This walk was doing him good. So was the talking. He'd been isolating himself a bit lately and this was making him feel normal, somehow, like he wasn't losing his mind.

"Thanks for letting me ask questions," Lochlann said.

But, when she flapped her wings, Lochlann hurried his eyes back to the ground. He was starting to worry he was going to be expected to answer questions about himself now, and he worried. It was only fair, but he wasn't ready.

"What is your favorite kind of thing to eat?" he asked, keeping the questions simple, something that he would answer if he was forced to. They were making good progress on this trail. They'd be doubling back soon and he was almost relieved. She was nice, very nice, but Lochlann was having a hard time thinking he deserved to be around anyone so nice.
