Mephis walked around the strip, his black fur blending a bit with the dark environment around him as his glowing green eyes scanned the place carefully. He wasn’t sure if animals were allowed at all, reason why he sneaked in…thing that wasn’t exactly that hard to do when you’re such a small animal and the security is too busy with the other creatures that want to enter as well.

This wouldn’t be his first time in a strip, and he knew it wouldn’t be the last one either, he could only think about several times on his past when he got some especially unusual requests from his old owners that would be more fitting of a place like this than anywhere else.

But even as a stray, he didn’t mind being here at all, it was quite a nice place after all, at least from his point of view. He jumped on a nearby counter, careful to be far enough from the drunk people getting all hot over the dancers on stage. He was considering to shift right there and then just to ask for a drink and enjoy the view as well for a while.

There was a cat at her bar.

This did not necessarily surprise Yoka, because things were not always what they seemed, especially on the Manta Carlos Islands.

What did surprised Yoka was that no one had gotten the cat a drink yet. Tonight was a working night, so Yoka was dressed in something silky and provocative. She was separated from the other dancers in that her outfit actually covered most of her body, and she was wearing strappy sandals that went up to her knees instead of heels.

She slid behind the counter and leaned over, eyeing the feline and said, "What are you drinking? First one's on me since the house screwed up and made you wait."

Yoka's eyes gleamed amber in the dark lighting. This was definitely no ordinary cat, she could smell that. He was...surprisingly cute though.

Mephis perked his ears as she heard somebody talking to him. His demonic green eyes giving out that usual unnatural glow as they landed on the amber eyes of the girl. He just chuckled a bit, his deep mysterious voice being slightly muffled by the music “Thank you, I think a AMF would be nice” Most places like this wouldn’t consider the AMF as a good drink for someone that had just arrived and hadn’t eaten anything.

Yet, Mephis couldn’t care less about this, he had stronger drinks on his past and he just enjoyed the feel of the alcohol kicking in. As a demo, it was extremely hard to get him drunk, to the point where he had to take several cocktails made of things that would be strictly forbidden anywhere else but Hell itself…of clubs run by really high-ranked demons just to be drunk for a couple of minutes. He had heard that one of said clubs was around Manta Carlos, would that be true?

“You have quite a nice strip here” He almost purred as his eyes scanned the place carefully, he knew better than just let his demonic desires to overtake him everywhere he went like several demons usually did.

“Thank you, I think a AMF would be nice”

"Coming right up," Yoka said, turning to grab a bottle of vodka from behind the bar. She flipped it in the air, caught it, and started to pour before reaching for the rum with her other hand. She worked quickly and slid his drink across from him.

It wasn't her place to question what kind of drink someone wanted when coming in. It was her place to make sure it was a damn good drink.

"Do you want the straw?" she asked, referring to the tiny mixing straws usually put in drinks. She wasn't sure given the fact that he was a cat and all, but it was probably rude to ask.

“You have quite a nice strip here”

"Well thank you," Yoka said. Behind her illusion, her tails waggled. "The Cross Fox is Manta Carlos's oldest club. We're actually built upon a site where some of the island's first residents--

Pirates, naturally.

"--used to relax and entertain themselves in a similar manner. I take pride in being able to cater to any particular taste."

Yoka leaned across the counter, resting her head in her palm and said, "So tell me, Mr. Black Cat, what are you hungry for?"

Mephis’ eyes traveled across the strip, the point of his tail flicking a bit from time to time. Several sounds apart of the music reaching his sensitive ears, as well as many smells, some a bit more unexpected than others. As soon as the drink reached him he wrapped his black furry tail around it, not sure if he should transform into a more human form to not only being able to drink it a bit more easily, but also be able to ask for more drinks later, or if he should just stay a cat.

He nodded a bit when the straw was offered, still a bit too focused on the strip as a whole to talk. His ears were moving constantly in an attempt to catch all the sounds surrounding him and his eyes landing on anyone or anything that he considered interested enough.

A low deep chuckle made its way through his teeth, his demonic eyes once more landing on Yoka’s eyes “If you mean food, you don’t want to know. But if I’m right about the meaning behind those words, well…” His eyes traveled across the strip, landing on several dancers “…I think it’s pretty darn obvious, am I right?” If there was a demon out there able to fully control his desires, Mephis hadn’t met him at all, and he was feeling fairly tempted right now "What about you?"

“If you mean food, you don’t want to know. But if I’m right about the meaning behind those words, well……I think it’s pretty darn obvious, am I right?”

Yoka gave a low chuckle. "I've met many creatures for whom the meanings were one and the same."

Of course, Yoka did not actually encourage anyone to literally eat her dancers.

She ran a hand through her dark hair and followed the cat's eyes to the stage, where she mentally tried not to critique the moves of the girl on the pole. She had a great sense of rythme and could keep in time to the music, but Yoka personally would have added some more flair to the spins though. Still, that was why the girl was a great dancer, but not necessary tonight's headliner.

"Still, everyone has their preferences. We'll all take what we can get, but it doesn't hurt to be choosy with what you want," Yoka mused. She brought her eyes back to the cat, giving him a toothy grin.

"What about you?"

"I always like the things just out of reach," Yoka said. "I'm not one of those people who craves what they can't have, because I believe we can have it all."

Her amber eyes narrowed slightly, though in a manner that was more mischevious than anything else.

"It's just a matter of how far you're willing to go to get what you want. "

Mephis’ attention fell completely on the woman talking to him for a couple of seconds. So, she was of the kind that wanted the big prize, exactly the kind of people that was more willing to take him in, or any demon for that reason. He unwrapped his tail from the drink and jumped to the seat right in front of him, taking a more humane look as he sat, only keeping the claws and sharp fangs of his feline form, his demonic green eyes never changing.

He even allowed himself to get some fancier clothes that the ones that he usually chose when he transformed, the only part of his attire that never changed was his collar, the mark of his rank as a demon pet.

He grabbed the drink, giving out a devilish grin as he looked at Yoka “Well, now you got my attention. It’s obvious that you dream big, but tell me, you already have a plan to reach such thing, hm?” He drank from his glass, allowing the alcoholic drink to refresh his mouth. He had to admit it, the darn drink was good “You may be able to get anything you want, but you may need help along the way” He almost purred, carefully watching the girl and her actions.

If Yoka was surprised to see the cat transform into a handsome man before her, she didn't show it.

In truth, Yoka wasn't all that surprised. There wasn't a lot that could catch the fox off guard at this part, but that was part of what was worrying her. She was growing complacent. What if the cat had turned into something other than a man? She might have been in trouble now. This was exactly the reason Yoka had started to look for....

...well not exactly someone she could trust, because Yoka knew better than to trust a demon, but the principle was roughly the same.

“Well, now you got my attention. It’s obvious that you dream big, but tell me, you already have a plan to reach such thing, hm? You may be able to get anything you want, but you may need help along the way”

Yoka gave a dry laugh.

"But of course," Yoka said. She gave a shrug. "Plans change, but my end goal has always been the same. Flexibility is what's important...who knows what opportunities can just drop into your lap."

She made the cat-man another drink.

"It would be shame to pass up a good deal just because it's not conventional."

Mephis accepted the second drink with a smile after he finished the first one, not worried about the money at all, he always had enough with him thanks to…many reasons. Sometimes getting a couple of souls could come with unexpected extra bonus things that he wouldn’t hesitate to collect, cash of all kinds between those.

“Well, I may be able to help you out somehow” His eyes followed Yuka’s carefully, he could easily tell that there was a lot more behind what she was showing, and he obviously felt interested, maybe this was the owner that he had been looking for?

“But I need to ask first, are you comfortable around demons?” That question was a must, he wasn’t going to go on and try to make one of those extra-tricky demon pet contracts with this woman only to find out that he was going to get kicked out as soon as she found out what he really was.

Not that he really cared though, once the contract was done he got what he wanted, but still. Contracts were a bit too troublesome to just end them so darn quick.

“Well, I may be able to help you out somehow”

Yoka arched an eyebrow, clearly interested, an indication for the cat-man to continue.

“But I need to ask first, are you comfortable around demons?”

Yoka couldn't help it--she laughed.

Demons were both the bane and blessing of her existence. They were great powerful pools of knowledge and wealth, shrewd businesses men, and saavy deal makers. Unfortunately, there were many that would like to see Yoka removed because she was the worst kind of competition. When Yoka became immortal, she didn't need a contract to grant wishes and favors, and that had caused a few demons to want to take her out early.

"I am quite comfortable around demons," Yoka admitted. She'd summoned more than a few in her five hundred years. "I have a bit of a reputation with some of them, though, and it's not always good. But I'm comfortable."

She glanced around their current location and said, "Would this discussion perhaps be better suited for privacy?"

Her eyes went to the entrance to the champagne room.
