Mikistli walked calmly through the lonely streets, her blood-red eyes glowing in the darkness of the night. This was the time of the day that the mirrors would allow her to come this world, be free, and during this time of the night, the city…no, no the city, the world belonged to her. Her confidence clearly show in the way that she walked, not even trying to hide her presence in a city that she knew by experience that could be full of terrible creatures lurking everywhere, in seek of blood. But she wasn’t stupid, even if she looked absentminded or simply too relaxed, her guard was really high, she was ready to react at the slightest sign of danger and show whoever dared to fight her the terrible mistake that they made.

Her eyes looked at the occasional guy that walked across the streets at this hour, most of them were simply drunk men stumbling and tripping with themselves in their stupid attempt to reach their homes or the scared guys that tried their best to stay in the most illuminated side of the street, seeking refuge under the light of the streetlamps or the moon, acting just like pathetic prey in search of the imminent predator. Hmm…they were lucky that she wasn’t one of those predators, otherwise the way in which they were acting would’ve dragged her attention for sure. But now that she thought about it, she never had tried to become a predator before, mostly because of Coatzin’s constant interferences or not being able to get out of the mirror world for one reason or another. Maybe she could become a predator? How would it be?

Her threatening eyes left the last scared boy that walked near her. She raised her gaze a bit when she felt it, that sensation of being watched. She didn’t allowed anyone to know that she knew that someone had his or her eyes on her, but she was more than willing to break some bones and inject a nice amount of deadly venom if anyone tried to do anything against her.

Deith had been following her with his eyes.

He was on a small building's roof top, enjoying the night differently than usual. He wasn't really hunting today, but a few people did catch his attention, and if they were interesting enough, he'd pull them into dark alleys and... well... pleasure them just for fun.

The way he eyed Mikistli was different though. She was interesting enough for the already-mentioned activity, but Deith was more interested with the way she projected herself, as if she could take anyone on anytime, anywhere. And when she looked up, Deith knew that he has been noticed.

Time to go down.

He didn't approach in the usual boring way he would. He jumped down from the roof, attacking her immediately and planning to pin her down. So she can't put on such a confident face anymore. He wanted to steal that positive aura from her, break her, torture her if possible. But for now, he made his landing.

Mikistli smirked as she saw a shadow jump off the building, staying still until the very last second, taking a couple of steps backwards. It was far from being at a safe distance, but at least she could avoid being pinned down by the unknown man. A dark chuckle left her lips as she looked at him, finally, she could do something else apart of just teasing and scaring the people around. Ah, if they were in the cemetery this would be just plain perfect, since she would be able to see him struggling with a group of reanimated corpses, but apparently she wouldn’t have that advantage now, since she highly doubted that there could be corpses under their feet at the moment. How she missed the necropolis that Coatzin and her used to visit every night, why modern guys couldn’t just build another one instead of only burying their dead in those specific places?

“What do we have here? Do you want to play?” The words rolled from her tongue calmly, yet full of venom. She wasn’t afraid of this creature, and if it only caught her attention it was because he made the first move to attack her, she just hoped that he wouldn’t be all bark and no bite like many others before, who didn’t lasted even ten minutes against her after she decided to start draining their life force “Well, let’s play for a while then”.

The shadows immediately obeyed her commands, wrapping her to create what could be described as an almost perfect cover, blending with the shadows around her. At first glance it would simply look like if she had vanished on thin air, but she obviously was still there, and if the creature was careful enough he would be able to find her with his other senses instead of his eyes. Mikistli wasn’t willing to make it easy though, she wanted to test him first, to know exactly what she was facing and be able to overpower him. Doing so would may come at the price of a wound or two, but she would gladly pay said price if the prize was the victory.

(OOC: I consent the infliction non-lethal wounds on Mikistli)

It was but a greeting. Deith was actually pleased that his target was able to dodge, because if not, then that would only mean she was weak.

He turned around, bowing in a gentlemanly way, though his lips were curved up to a smirk. That was before the shadows enveloped her. "Oh my, I wanted to have a nice dance with you, my lady. Does this mean yes?" He chuckled. And then she vanished.

Deith, being a master of illusions, was impressed, but not to the extent of getting worried that she might sneak an attack on him. He closed his eyes and tried to feel for her presence, before throwing a small blade towards her direction. To where the shadows concentrated.

Well, wasn’t this creature a charmer? Too bad that she couldn’t care less about that kind of stuff now, if what he wanted now was to spend the night with her, he just had ruined his chance by attacking first. She really didn’t moved from her place, as she just wanted to see his reaction at her disappearance, and he must admit it, she was incredibly pleased by it. He didn’t just started to attack blindly like an idiot, he instead decided to close his eyes and use his other senses to try and find her. She moved quickly when the blade was thrown at her, she managed to avoid wounds, but it managed to slash a small portion of her clothes, leaving a clean horizontal cut on them “At least, I found someone that isn’t all bark and no bite” Her words were as calm and confident as before, but now a small tone of interest could be heard behind them.

She then started her own attack, using the shadows on her favor. She kept a low profile in general, but made a couple of more noticeable shadows to start randomly circling him. She made them look natural and actually sneaky, so it wouldn’t be obvious that they were just for show. When she got right behind him she made one of the shadows to approach aggressively from one side, a front attack would be way too obvious.

While this happened she used her tail instead of trying to get any closer, quickly making it get closer at the almost unnoticeable ground level, still carefully covering it in subtle shadows to make it practically disappear from anyone’s sight, in an attempt to wrap his legs and pull. She hoped to make him fall face-first on the hard concrete before lifting him upside-down to force him into a posture in which he would be easier to defeat, but she was wondering if this would work at all.

Deith chuckled, hearing some cloth being torn by his blade before it hit a wall and fell to the ground. "So you were there." He hasn't opened his eyes.

He knew, however, that Mikistli was moving. He sensed the shadows around him pretty well, and he minded every one of them. With a 'tsk', he turned and jumped up to avoid the attacking shadow, and then turned around again as he landed, feeling some kind of presence different from these shadows.

"Predator, or prey? Which one are you, dear?" he asked, opening his eyes and turning them to the tail immediately. He even stepped on it, though he did so gently. "Hmm. I love this dance. It's been a while since I had fun in the streets."

Mikistli just chuckled a bit when the creature in front of him stepped on her tail, she wasn’t sure if he knew the massive strength that she had on her tail, and so how dangerous it could be to stay within its reach, to not say actually being in contact with it, she had squeezed the life out of other creatures using it before. But instead of attacking or pulling away, she allowed him to keep her tail under his foot calmly.

“Prey walk around wary and scared of their surroundings at all times, seeking for the predators that know that are lurking behind every dark corner and ready to run away at the slightest sign of danger. So tell me, do I look like a prey to you?” She allowed the shadows to retreat and reveal her dark figure to the man in front of her, her blood-red eyes holding a faint glow. She wasn’t sure of what this man was or his abilities, so she had to be careful, and once he dropped his guard she would immediately attack.

“To be fully sincere with you, it has been quite a while since I had fun as well” With these words she finally pulled her tail away from him, allowing it to move calmly around her. She flicked her forked tongue a bit to taste the air, catching any particles floating in the air between them that her nose couldn’t to get a better idea of what was facing. She wasn’t surprised when she tasted the faint essence of metal, he already there a dagger at her, it would be stupid from her to think that he only had one, but there was another essence that made her grow a bit more wary, gunpowder, he carried guns as well?

She could still see the second shadow that she had previously casted to hide her attack, slowly moving around them in an almost predatory way. Even though using it at the moment would be a waste, since it only would vanish if the man attacked it, maybe it could be used as a distraction. The creature talking to her didn’t knew about all her powers, just like she didn’t knew about his, and consequently there was still the chance of making him get confused, making him think that she was just another illusion when the shadow cautiously circling them was the real her, but since he had been stepping on her tail only some seconds ago she wasn’t sure if he would fall for this and give her an opening to attack him.

Deith nodded with a shrug when the girl pointed out how a prey is. She had a point. But that's just one point. "A couple of... friends of mine... said once: some preys pretend like they're a predator. I just had to ask."

Contrary to what Mikistli sensed, Deith didn't carry a gun with him. But he did have his illusions. Before she could do anything more than pulling her tail away, he waved an arm and purple mist suddenly surrounded them and dissolved in the air. But when it faded, they weren't in the dark city anymore. Instead, they were floating in the sky, the blue noon sky, with small white clouds surrounding them and Manta Carlos below their feet. The feeling of floating was real, the wind was real, the brightness was real. Deith wasn't going to reveal why and how, though. But he mostly did it to shoo away the shadows.

Even though Mikistli was a creature of the dark though, nothing was happening to her, which can give hint that these were all illusions. "Now you're in my shadows. May I know your name, miss?" he grinned. "I need a name for this wonderful girl in front of me. And if you're curious," he put a hand over his chest, "mine's Deith."

Mikistli immediately got into a full defensive pose when the purple mist started to surround them, her eyes scanning it carefully, trying to figure out what was happening to know how to counterattack. A fully audible snake-like hissing sound could be heard coming from her as she tasted the air once more, trying to tell if the mist was poisonous or not, wings half-open and ready to carry out from the cloud if needed.

But as soon as the mist vanished and she noticed the sudden change of scenario she couldn’t help but look around. She never had been able to see the sky during the day, so she obviously was…wait a second…day? She frowned a bit, folding her wings once more before looking at the man in front of him, she highly doubted that he knew about her little mirror curse problem, but even then this was a huge sick joke on her, showing her something that she may never be able to really see…unless she found a way to break the stupid curse.

But she decided to stay silent and be extra-careful from now on. She had just found someone that could match her illusions, if not make even better ones, and she obviously didn’t like that idea at all. She may be able to break through the illusion by using the mirror curse on her favor though, as she could travel freely between worlds at night after Coatzin helped her out from the mirror world that same night.

“The name’s Mikistli” She did her best hold back a hiss as she talked, her eyes constantly scanning everything around her, already expecting an attack from him. She liked that he talked at her like a gentleman, but she knew better than just drop her guard, especially now that she was in his illusion.

"Mikistli, huh?" Deith repeated her name with a rather silky texture to his voice, as if he were trying to taste a delicious drink and savored it as it passed his tongue. He took note how dumbstruck Mikistli was. Interesting, he thought. That word, once it came out from his head, was enough to stop him from attacking anyone, because he always loved interesting people.

Although Mikistli has already been very interesting from the very beginning. Deith's amusement was his preys' and enemies' ally.

"What, haven't you seen what the daylight sky looks like?" he snickered. He held out his hand, offering it to Mikistli. "Hey, no tricks, want a tour? Let's be friends, I swear I won't attack you anymore."
