Analu was far from pleased about his assignment. The exile of Lelei was supposed to be permanent, with the implied impossibility of his return to the ocean, much less the kingdom. So unless he misheard the sentencing, or misread the official writings, the Council was going against the meaning of permanent by not only allowing Lelei back, but even going so far as to send Analu to get him, like he was some kind of errand boy. It did not help that they insisted he seek out Lelei on the land for expediency instead of what he wanted to do, which was to send some kind of signal from the safety of the water and wait for Lelei's no doubt eager return. But no. There he was, taking steps onto dry land and hating the feeling of his own weight bearing down on him as he left the water.
If there was any consolation, it was that his arrival on the island was during the early morning, so most land dwellers would not be out and about. Analu would have an hour or two of relative calm and solitude to find Lelei, or get to where he was located, before people started coming out of the wood work and probably making a big deal of his presence. Not so much the fact that he was a shark person on land--Lelei's presence had probably inured them to that kind of thing--but most because Analu was essentially naked in their eyes.
Wearing only what amounted to jewelry and accessories, Analu walked across the beach of Manta Carlos, through the woods, through as little of the city as he could manage, and onto the Academy. For students who knew the on-and-off teacher Lelei, Analu was a different sight entirely. He shared the same general humanoid-shark physiology, but he was leaner and thinner than the hulking Lelei. His coloring was dark grey as opposed to Lelei's water blue, small blue accents across his thinner tail. Instead of single head fin like Lelei, Analu had two longer, pointed fins situated towards the sides of his head and pointing back, looking like large fox or elf ears. Where Lelei had worn to cover himself, Analu wore strands of beads and pearls that sat around his waist and neck, several arm bands made of shiny stone and metal, and piercings in his "ears". Otherwise he was completely uncovered. In his hand he carried a shiny metal tube, possibly a container of some sort.
Darting his cyan eyes about the Academy grounds, Analu found the nearest person and grabbed their wrist.
"You! Tell me the Whereabouts of a shark named Lelei! Tall, bulky, blue colorings. Has a taste for boys."
