Mephis walked silently through the streets, avoiding a couple of creatures walking around carefully, hissing angrily each time any of them tried to kick him out of the way. He knew that he was nothing but a stray cat for them and that obviously made him feel pretty angry, unluckily there was not much he could do against that, even with his demonic collar on a lot of creatures couldn’t help but disrespect him quite a lot.

While walking he took quick notice of the local store and he titled his head a bit, maybe he could get himself something to eat? He wasn’t going to eat from a dumpster if he could avoid it. Eating from such places would only be only if he was really desperate. He pressed his front paws on the store’s wall, lifting himself just enough to be able to look inside the store through one of the wide windows located at each side of the door, wondering if they had milk, they obviously had to have milk, right?

He was thinking about this when the door opened. His green eyes traveled from the store’s window to the girl stepping out, allowing himself to drop to the ground. He didn’t walk straight to her, not sure if she was going to kick him away if he did so. Instead, he took some cautious steps towards her, tail and ears allowing her to know that his guard was up just in case. He sniffed the air, twitching his whiskers a bit as he did so, trying to guess what he had bought.

Evelyn had just walked out of the local store with two bags full of groceries. While she was more than aware that the school had a cafeteria she also loved cooking for herself in her dorm. It came with a full kitchen so why not? Unlike her other classmates Eve could not survive on ramen and takeout. No. She had pots and pans in her dorm and she frequently cooked. Though she ate alone.. A lot. Stepping out of the store she noticed an adorable little black cat with a collar. As it took a few steps towards her she knew. It was someone's misplaced pet, and from the looks of the poor creature it was scared and hungry.

Mentally, Eve went back to the days that she was 'endurance' trained in the military. Starved and assaulted she never broke, it was only when the water was taken away that she did.. Shaking her head a bit to rid herself of those toxic thoughts she crouched down and made a soft clicking noise with her tongue against the roof of her mouth, quite like a coo to call the little creature. She wouldn't wish starvation on anything.

Setting one bag down she rummaged around and pulled out a container of cubed meat, meant for a stew. With an easy tear into the package she pulled out a cube and held it out for the small cat. "Cume ere Ketty. Eye vill not heart you." While her accent made her a little self conscious she still spoke calmly and in as much of a soothing manner that she could.

Mephis’ fur puffed up when the girl crouched, making him unsheathe his sharp claws and get into a rather awkward defensive position as he hissed, already expecting a hit or an object being thrown at him. Yet, when the girl started to make the soft clicking noise his furl slowly flattened and he sheathed his claws, looking at her carefully.

His ears immediately perked up at the sight of the raw meat. He got into a more casual position, slowly walking towards her, still a bit wary. When he was close enough and the girl obviously hadn’t done any aggressive motion against him, he placed his paw on the girl’s hand and started to eat the meat cube. If Eve paid close attention she would notice a small feline smile on the cat’s muzzle.

Once he was done with the meat cube he licked the girl’s hand a bit before letting go, looking at her with big eyes. Sooner than later, he started to gently rub himself against her, purring softly. He could be quite a selfish demon, but he still knew when being grateful could be the best idea. After all, people like this girl was more willing to feed a grateful cute cat than an aloof aggressive one, right?

She had learned through many years that free food was something easy to come by when you’re around the right people. He just hoped that the girl wouldn’t start feeding him cat food. He may like his black cat form over all the others, but that didn’t mean that he liked that poor excuse of a meal.

Evelyn was right, the poor thing was someones pet. Cold, hungry and scared. Bending down She gently scooped up the cat and placed it on her shoulder as she picked up her groceries. "Come on Ketty, Eye vill cook denner and clean you up." It was in the position onto of her shoulder that he could see that the bags were all filled with various meats. Fish, mutton, Shrimp, beef, pork and several veggies and some rice and a few fruits. It was enough to get someone by for two weeks cooking nearly nightly. But not a single bit of junk food.

"Et vould being nice to have cumpaney." She spoke softly more for herself than anyone else. There was no lying she loved her privacy and didnt mind being alone but, It would of been nice to have a furry friend to share her bed.

"Eye am thinzking of making eh.. Stew. But eye em sure zat you vouldn't leik ze meat cooked." She spoke again softly as she walked towards the school. It wasn't very far and she didn't mind the adorable creature on her shoulder. Frequently she'd gently nuzzle his side when no one was looking.

Mephis meowed softly when he was picked up, looking at the girl with curiosity as she gently placed him on her shoulder. He used his claws, hooking them on the soft fabric of her shirt to not fall off. He was fairly surprised with the girl’s actions, she obviously wasn’t aware of him being a demon pet, and a contract hadn’t even been arranged, so why was she taking him with her?

This was something new for him, a girl picking up a random cat, not knowing anything about it, and taking it with her like if it was her own. He had expected many things, but this one didn’t even crossed his mind. He looked inside the bag when she opened it, involuntarily licking his lips when he saw all the meat in it. The only thing missing in that bag for him was milk, but he apparently was going to get a full dinner, so he wasn’t going to complain.

He looked around as they walked, remembering the last time he had an owner that carried him around town instead of forcing him to stay locked inside his or her house. That probably was before the witch hunting era, when his kind wasn’t so widely known and consequently they weren’t either kept away as pests or locked inside a house for supposed safety.

He was careful to stay on the girl’s good side as she walked, purring softly each time she nuzzled her, hoping that the cute gesture would be enough to keep this girl from changing her mind towards him.

It was not long for the two of them to get back to her dorm she softly spoke the entire time, it was more when no one was looking she commented on how beautiful he was and how she felt bad that he lost his owner. And how she would take care of him until she could find them. Though the most startling was that she knew how it felt to be hungry and alone. Her tone dipped into small sadness before perking back up as she talked about dinner.

Walking up to her dorm she opened the door and then closed it with a gentle kick from her heel. Turning into the kitchen she set the bags down before gently setting the Mephis down on the counter. She began unpacking the bag and setting the package of pre-opened meat down and then putting everything in the fridge minus the carrots and potatoes. Though she grabbed a full container of milk and poured him a bowl.

As she cooked she occasionally tossed him a chunk here and there of meat that was raw. It was several pieces that had little fat on them. Though she did offer out to him a piece of cooked beef that was lightly seasoned for him after blowing on it that is. It was as if he was her pet. As if this was an every day thing. As if he belonged with her. Her entire place was very clean and quiet relaxing even.

Mephis listened to her words carefully, wanting to know as much about this girl as he could. This girl was indeed interesting, especially the part of her knowing how it felt to be hungry and alone, the tone on her words…she was hiding something, something important, maybe he could dig in a bit deeper using his cute act.

He carefully landed on the slippery counter, looking at her as she…was that milk? He immediately jumped off the counter and ran towards her, walking around her while meowing, sniffing the air and looking at the bowl that she was holding. That smell, there was no doubt. He immediately ran towards the bowl when she placed it within his reach, drinking the delicious white liquid, he was already starting to like this girl, maybe he could make a contract with her? Even if her soul was the worst one to collect of the whole word, he wouldn’t mind if she gave him milk.

Each time a meat piece was thrown to him he immediately jumped on the air, catching it in a cute way with his tiny black paws before landing elegantly and starting to eat. He tilted his head when a cooked piece of beef was offered to him. He wasn’t a fan of cooked meat, but trying it wouldn’t be that bad, right? He gently ate the meat from the girl’s hand, purring loudly to let her know that he was happy, before rubbing himself against her once more.

A small giggle escaped her lips as she watched the cat leap in the air for the meat and at him taking the cooked meat she smiled. "You only leik ze raw meat huh? Et es ok." she separated more into a bowl for him and topped off his milk All and all he took almost half of the meat meant for her stew.

As she cooked it smelled wonderful and after a while she turned off the heat and poured herself a bowl while sitting at the table and eating.

"liek Eye said before eye know how et feels to being scared and hungrary. Eye vas trained es a weapon bai de Russian Militaray. Appart of zeir traineing was to starves mein and beat mein. Zey deid terrialble theings to mein but eye only broek when dey took ze water awey." She spoke softly as she picked at her food more than eating it. But after a heavy sigh she at the bowl and washed her dishes.

Mephis ate until he was full, or full within cat boundaries. He knew that he could eat a lot more than that, but it not only would seem suspicious, but it also would trigger his fast demon metabolism and then he would get hungry a lot quicker than if he just stopped eating then. He cleaned himself elegantly before looking at Evelyn once more.

He jumped on her lap as she ate, curling up as he purred softly, listening to her words with obvious interest. This girl had a though past, uh? Well, he was surprised to see that she still retained her sanity, most people would go completely nuts for less, he had seen it before. After she finished talking he jumped on the counter and looked at her with his big green eyes.

This girl was interesting, not only she picked him up and fed him when anyone else would’ve just left him on the streets, patting themselves on their backs for making their good deed of the day by giving him a small meat cube…or simply would’ve kicked him away. But also she was sharing with him a story that made it clear that she had an excuse more than valid to be a ruthless coldblooded monster.

He just stared at her while she ate and did the dishes, trying to decipher her. Usually most creatures were way too easy to read, all of them were just a bunch a selfish creatures that came to this world to get whatever they wanted and leave. But then, there were extremely odd individuals like this girl, true riddles, puzzles that he wanted to solve.

When she put the dishes in the strainer he could she the scars around her wrists. They went perfectly around and they matched a scar around her throat that was nearly invisible if it wasnt off toned from her normal skin. There were other scars on her arms some were round and circular that were more like burns.

Upon being finished with the dishes she set him down on the counter next to the sink before getting a wash cloth and wetting it with bathwater temperature water. She unblinkingly rubbed his face clean starting at the corner of his eyes to get the eye boogies. She then cleaned around his mouth before getting his paws. She then folded it and then rubbed it down his flanks to get any major amounts of dirt off of him. "Der all clean. Now et es mien turn."

She spoke softly before getting a quick shower. It was only when she got out that he saw a good glimpse of her scars.. Her ankles had matching scars and on her left leg there was a two inch wide scar that went down about seven inches towards her knee. She had three large circular marks around her chest On her hips there were two four point star shaped scars. She was covered in the damned things and there so many. She had clearly gone through hell in a hand basket.

After a while she whistled for him and put him on her bed as she crawled in besides him wearing a pair of short black shorts and a black tanktop. "Eye neber wanted to be aneything but normal. Dey stole my lief. Only one dey vill I see mein haindlar again en hell." she stated softly as she reached out and pet his head behind his ear.

Taking a moment she opened her window just enough for him to get out if he so choosed. "Der. So ef you decideds to leave you can." she whispered against his head as she ran her fingers down his sides.
