Okali liked a lot of things about her day-to-day life. She didn't like studying magic history, though. It was easily the driest subject involving magic around, just like history-history was the driest subject she knew of for things associated with non-magical general life, and so she was totally, absolutely, 100% procrastinating on writing this stupid essay thing that was due in a couple of days.

Mostly she was throwing salted peanuts into the air and catching them in her mouth. The real trick was to do it without flying off the couch she had claimed in the quiet lounge. It was a moderately nice day outside, but a little chilly for Okali. Plus she did need to get this paper done. She wasn't working on it any more than she would have been if she had just gone outside, but she was closer to working on it!

She missed the last peanut and ended up falling flat on her back, one leg hooked over the back of the sofa and her wings splayed to either side so that her violet feathers sort of stuck everywhere above her on one side and below her on the other. The peanut bounced off her neck and fell somewhere under the neck of her shirt, and she immediately clasped her hands to her beyond-childishly-flat chest. Boyishly flat, and accurate in all the unfortunate technically true arguments.

It was a rather chilly day for a flight around the campus. Travis had just finished his usual route and was coming into the lounge to warm up. Considering his chimera form was larger than a horse he tended not to shift indoors. He strolled in taking his usual spot on the sofa and pulled out his Kindle. He was about to start reading when he noticed a leg hanging on the back of the couch. The chimera sighed and hopped on his knees, peering over the back of the couch.

"Hello," he said to the poor girl who was just kinda sprawled out back behind it. Her pink hair and the wings were kinda cute. Her chest was lacking though, even the flattest girls weren't that flat. Gender was suspect but that sort of thing didn't matter to Travis. One could be whatever they wanted between scientific and magical advancements. "You want a hand?" he offered, hopping over the back and extending a hand for her to take.

Where did it go? There! Okali fished out the peanut... just in time for someone to hop over her and stick out his hand. She blinked a few times, stuck the peanut in her mouth, and then grabbed the hand to pull herself upright.

It took a few flutters, carefully small enough to keep from lifting her off the couch, to get her wings sorted out again. She'd knocked a bunch of feathers askew.

"Thanks! I kind of, er, misestimated that a bit." She grinned, just a flash of teeth even though there was no hesitation in it. "I don't think I know you?" It was definitely a questioning thing; she'd been here her entire life.

"I'm Travis, Travis King," he flashed a fanged smile her way. She seemed uneven though her feathers were a bit ruffled. As a winged being himself, he hated that sort of thing. But what could she have been doing to wind up like that? Probably something dumb enough he'd wind up joining in with her. That said, he was still unsure of whether he wanted to know.

"Just what were you doing?" he tilted his head slightly at her. Then produced a fairly decent sized bag of M&M's from his pocket. He was willing to share but up to this point the fact that he was outside kept them from melting. He was really just trying to save the snacks. "You want some?" he offered, holding out the bag.

"Travis? I'm Okali Kirre. Nice to meet you!" She grinned again, the smile lasting longer this time. The brightness never left her eyes, though; even when those happened to flick off to glance out the window at some hint of movement, they were excited and laughing.

M&MS! "I was eating peanuts. By throwing them in the air and catching them with my mouth." She flushed a bit and glanced off to the side. "I just missed that last one."

Okali kept glancing at the M&Ms. They were so much better than plain old peanuts. The peanut bag had squished between the couch cushion and arm, but Okali fished them out and tossed them at Travis. "We could both share," she offered.

"Okali, it's um nice to meet you," he held a grin on his face. Kind of a signature of his. He was probably going to forget her name at some point. But it would all be fine, people tended to forgive him for it and he would remember eventually. She had hummingbird wings, and that was how he would know her.

He couldn't help but laugh at her explanation fro ending up on the back of the couch, not that he could do any better. "There's too much for me to eat alone without hating myself. And they'd melt if they stayed in there any longer," he caught the bag of peanuts and flopped onto the couch. "So yeah I'm uh willing to share."

Okali flashed a quick grin back at Travis. The way she'd fallen over had totally been funny; she didn't mind laughter over something like that. Not at all! It wasn't like being forgotten in the slightest.

"Well, I don't quite have a hummingbird metabolism but it's not like I spend all day sleeping in the sun either," she said cheerfully. "Plus I still have lots of room to grow." Shrug shrug bounce to tuck her feet under herself.

Travis simply flopped onto the couch next to Okali. She probably had a normal range metabolism, which was lucky for her. He had the ability to change into a huge four headed beast and that made eating rather expensive. Even if he did happen to eat himself into a state of disgust. That said, she was a ball of energy and he enjoyed those.

"You're so lucky you don't have to deal with annoying animal instincts though," he said. He was more or less omnivorous with a lean towards meat thanks to three of the animals he was fused with being carnivores. And then there was the goat head, who liked pretty much anything that looked chewy and tasty. "I ate my own homework once thanks to the part of me that was fused with a goat."

"Hey, I do sometimes! I kind of temporarily absorb powers and stuff from other people. It's kinda cool, crazy random." Okali tossed the peanut she had been holding into her mouth and crunched on it for a moment.

"You're part goat? That's cool!" Okali twisted to look Travis. "What teacher was that for? Did they freak or did they have to accept it? Power-related stuff gets leeway sometimes, like the time I was writing an exam and one of the invigilating teachers walked by and I smelled them and then it started raining inside and all the exams got soaked."

Well, she'd earned detention for that, but it was recognized as an accident and not intent.
