Coral supposes this was what she was getting from not just buying regular sleeping pills from trusted drug stores. But nah, she trusted Thorn too much to think otherwise. Still, it didn't seem like it was Thorn's nor Cabel's fault that they will inevitably turn into cats.

She glanced at the said cat in the other side of the room. That cat was probably someone who used the drug too and now... he's a cat. That didn't sit well with Coral. It was enough she was part hawk--another transformation of that sort was out of her bucket list.

Before Coral could even say a word, there was a small puff of air from behind her. Coral, being the witty child that she is already expected something unpleasant and when she looked behind her, she had a tail poking out from under her uniform. ...Uh oh. Forget the collars, they're gonna need that cure quick.

"Um, excuse me. I-i-is the transformation... permanent or is it gonna wear off on its own?"

Turning into a cat huh? That didn't seem too bad. Not to him anyway.

The life of a cat could be interesting. It could be fun. Running around the city, humping stuff, stealing fish, he'd be small enough to peak up people's skirts if he wanted to...

Wait. No. Focus.

He might think being a little cat would be fun, but Wei certainly wouldn't. The monkey boy would probably never trust him again if he woke up as a cat. He would go on and on about not trusting his drug suppliers and stuff like that...

The drow guessed he should consider himself lucky that he hadn't tried to share his drugs with DJ. She would have killed him if she woke up a cat.

Sid let out a long yawn. "I think it'd be pretty cool if turning into a cat became a permanent power, right?"

Dulce settled by one of the windows of the empty classroom, picking at his nails as he watched several others file into the room. Surprisingly, none of them were any he knew intimately, but he'd heard rumors. He smirked lasciviously to himself-- a few of them looked to be just his type, so maybe he could hang out with them once this problem, whatever it turned out to be, was resolved.

His eyes fell on the box of brightly colored cat collars, which caused him to a arch a delicate brow. He had... experience with collars, though the ones he'd previously worn were of the leather variety. Ah, he could recall one particularly memorable time, the images that flitted through his mind making a slight shiver run down his spine. It was so difficult to find such a darkly passionate partner like that one had been.

Dulce pouted.

Life was so not fair.

But then...

"Unfortunately in the next few hours you'll all be turning into cats."

What.

Distantly, he wondered when the last time Father had brought him to have his hearing checked.

Cats.

Cats.

"As long as I get to turn into a cute little kitten." was the only input Dulce could manage. There would be no hiding this from Father, if the side effect was being turned into a fucking cat. And Mother, ay Dios mio. He'd have to be extra vigilant to keep away from her.

Maybe...

Maybe he could give the authoritarian man teary little kitty eyes and hope Marco wouldn't be so disgusted and disappointed.

Hah. And Wrath, the fucking twat, would be just as affected.

He let out a laugh, though the sound was only faintly edged with hysteria, ignoring the rather valid questions those around him were asking.

He'd just have to play keep away from Sin Manor.

Yup. That's all. No big deal.

'I'm totally getting shitfaced after this.'

She was going to turn into a cat.

She didn’t want to be a cat. Cats couldn’t talk, and they couldn’t do most human things. Cabel said that he would work on a remedy, but Chloe didn’t know how much she trusted him to accomplish that. He was just this guy, this drug dealer who had screwed up by either not watching his product closely enough (his story) or accidentally switching his sleep pills for polymorphing pills (her theory).

Her first thought was to go to Aurora, or to health services. They would know how to fix this. They had her best interests at heart, they could probably access the kinds of magics that could un-do this mess.

Of course, they might also punish her. Even if she said she was just getting sleeping pills from Cabel, they probably wouldn’t believe her. If they didn’t punish her, she might at least fall out of Aurora’s good graces. She didn’t want that. Aurora was on a very short list of positive role models she had on this island.

So, she needed someone who would help her, who had her best interests at heart, and who wouldn’t judge her or punish her for getting shady drugs from some rando like Cabel.

“Fuck,” she sighed. She would have to ask her father for help. Hopping off the desk and onto her feet, she walked towards the teacher’s desk in the front. She ignored everyone else in the room. She had precious minutes of semi-humanity left and she was going to use them as best she could. “So… cats can’t talk. I need to write a note so my…” she sighed and started looking through the desk’s drawers. “So I can tell someone what’s going on. Get a place to stay until this blows over.” She found sticky notes. They would have to do. Now she just needed a pen. “Maybe if I’m lucky, they could…”

Chloe was starting to feel warm. Uncomfortably warm. And itchy. Were these the first symptoms? “Does anyone here have a pen or something?”

At that moment, before anyone could respond, Chloe disappeared in a puff of smoke. Her clothes fell to the ground in a pile – in a slightly larger pile than her clothes would make by themselves. Her tail was still there, sticking out of the hole she made in the back of her pants like it always did.

Soon, something in the clothes began to thrash around and extract itself from the pile. It was a small black cat, but it didn’t look like a normal cat. It had Chloe’s tail, which was easily several times as long as its body, and it had a pair of small, black horns the length of fingertips sticking out of its forehead.

The cat looked up at Cabel and briefly tried to stand up. The tile floor did not agree with her claws, so she slipped and fell.

She didn’t get up. She stayed where she fell and made a long, plaintive yowling sound. Another cat might have been able to interpret it as “Fuck my life.”

Coral looked at Sid with wide eyes, in complete disagreement with his remark. "You're really okay with that!? What if we don't return to normal?? We'd be cats forever!!" As cute as that was, Coral had just had enough of make-overs to actually like the idea of turning into a cat permanently.

Coral felt her heart sink when the odd-looking girl (hah, look who's talking) turned into a cat right in front of her. Her eyes were wide and she started to tremble in her seat. Nope, nope, nope! Right on cue her hands had gone in a puff of smoke; finding her talons have turned into paws. Coral probably looked pale by now.

"H-h-h-how long is the cure gonna take??" Coral was now more than nervous about when she can recover from this mishap. Second, why was her transformation taking bit by bit unlike the other girl??

There was a lot of questions and Cabel wanted to diffuse the situation before anyone panicked, but since the demon-girl had turned into a cute cat right before their eyes and the other girl had just started to transform, Cabel had to act fast.

First, the collars.

"Listen, I know the collars are unpleasant, but they're a safety precaution," he explained. "They all have a phone chip in them so I can find you when I have the cure. I'm not going to quarantine you or force you to stay here, but I need to be able to find you all as soon as I have the cure."

His words were tumbling out one after the other, though he sounded surprisingly calm. He didn't want them to know how freaked out he was, too.

"Plus, I don't want you to get picked up by anyone looking for strays. If you stay here with me, you don't have to wear a collar, but if you want to leave I'm going to insist on it."

The demon cat and the first cat where yowling, which reminded Cabel. He grabbed his backpack and put it on the desk before him, digging through it until he found a small envelope with one pill in it. He frowned, sighed, and dry swallowed it.

"You should still be able to talk to me now that I've taken this. I am going to be here or in the chem lab, so if you need me, that's where I'll be. I am going to leave the doors and windows open at all times. "

He looked at the group before him and sighed, rubbing his forehead with his hands. "As for a cure, I'm working on one. I don't know what this asshole mixed into my pills. As soon as I can figure that out, I'll be able to reverse it."

Cabel hesitated for a moment, as though he had another bit of particularly difficult information he didn't want to lay on them, but he said..."I also don't recommend having anyone with magic try to turn you back. All my pills have a magic suppressor in the mix so they'll still work on non-humans. The results can be...undesirable."

"So uh..." He looked around the room again, holding up a few of the collars. "Any questions?"

He was still at the window, playing with his new tail as he had a bunch of powers but no one that gave him tails. Then there where the claws, oh he just needed to pull them out, retract them a few times over to get it out of his system. Huh, did he hear correctly, could Cabel understand them now? It was a little to late for that, now wasn't it.

"Cabel, I still need to sleep yesterday." He was a little skeptic about Cabel's sudden ability to understand cats as this tabby hadn't been paying attention and seen that Cabel took a pill so if he could truly understand cats why didn't he answer Tao's question.

"You know, if you wanted me in a collar you wouldn't need to set up this elaborate plan, you could just come meet me in private." Trying to lift and lower an eyebrow to indicate flirting though he wasn't quite sure if the action would be noticed in this form. He was definitely going to follow Cabel, he really didn't want a collar on him in public, not that he was shy it just wasn't his style.

The night before Rayn was qt a party with some friends. Lets just say when you're kinda drunk and there are other stupid and drunk people around you, peer pressure isn't the best presence to have.

Her friends told her the pills were practically nothing and with me being made of water and all, practically nothing bad will happen. So being a drunk idiot she took the pills and she didn't feel anything at first. So she went about her night.

The next morning she woke up with her usual routine she washes her face, uses a face cleanse and sun block with moisturizer. When she looked up she had cat ears. Not that they weren't cute or anything its just that she is not a cat nor an animal so this was a giant no towards her. She turned around and noticed that she had a tail.

Rayn was almost deceased and she really did not want to be seen in public. She spent most of the day and part of the afternoon inside of her room. She was extremely angry at herself for doing drugs at that party. She laid in bed hoping it was a bad dream but sadly it wasn't.

Rayn got a note telling her to meet a guy in an unused room in the Academy. Rayn of course had to go to see what the heck is going on but her first problem was that she needed something to wear and hopefully hide the disasters on her body.

She first tried to use her water shaping abilities to turn into something different but it didn't matter what she turned into, the ears were still there.

Rayn rummaged through her closet trying to find something to cover her ears and tail. The wasn't going to wear a hat, it was kind of windy outside. She then found a black ribbon and immediately had an idea. "I could make a bow with this." Now all she needed was a way to incorporate the tail.

Rayn found a pair of jeans and cut a hole in them. She was sort of ready to go out side.

Rayn went outside and tried to sneak to the Academy. She made it to the door of the room and decided to go through the wall, she didn't want to be seen. When she got in the room, she immediately went to the darkest corner of the room.

"You may be cats permanently."

What does he mean?! Rayn was outraged but she did want to be noticed so she just kept it to herself. The guy put a box of collars od whatever. Rayn didn't mind but everyone else hesitated. She turned into water and went over to the box and quickly got a blue one and went back to her corner. Rayn put it on trying to convince herself it wasn't a collar but a choker. Rayn was not happy...

He had a point. Thorn picked up a magenta collar and put it on.

On the exact time she wore it, she felt something rumbling at the pit of her stomach. She sighed. Of course this was going to happen when she decided not to get drunk before noon like a productive member of society. This was her punishment for trying to act like a normal person. God sought to smite her from above.

"Parting is such sweet sorrow, human body," she mumbled to herself as smoke surrounded her body. She turned into a British shorthair with tubes still present around her body with bright purple eyes and a neon magenta collar. She jumped on the table and curled up around the boxes, waiting for the inevitable... catastrophe to unfold for the others.

Sid shrugged at Coral. "Well, I mean, we're gonna turn into cats either way, so we might as well have fun." As far as he was concerned, he had no reason to fight it. It wasn't like fighting it would make him maybe not turn into a feline. He'd just enjoy the change of pace that was being a cat for a little while.

The drow walked over to Cabel and gave him a wink. "LemonSqueeze is sleeping in my dorm room. You should take care of him so he doesn't hurt himself."

Having said his piece, he took the collars and slid one onto Wei and the other onto himself. He could get used to collars if they looked like this. He yawned. The sleep pills would probably kick in soon, so he moved over to the desk, setting down Wei and sitting on the floor.

He would wake up a cat.

How disconcerting.

The moment he closed his eyes and drifted to sleep, a prickling overtook his body. It was uncomfortable to say the least. From the pile of clothes where Sid had been came Sid-cat, A sleek, muscular Russian Blue with piercing red eyes.

Huh.

He hopped on the desk with ease, finding the same had happened to Wei. He swatted around his clothes and found the monkey--well... now more of a kitten.

Wei had turned into a kitten of a breed Sid couldn't identify. He was small, probably small enough to be held comfortably in human hands, with fur sticking out in a messy fashion all over his body. His tail, however, broke the pattern by being several times longer than the rest of his body, creating the image of a tiny fluffball with a tail that surpassed an adult cat.

Weird.
