Yun casually wiped his paw on the ground before following Orais. It was good to see that Orais was staying within the school, and he gradually allowed the claws just barely peeking out to ease back into their sheaths. The discussion of drinks even provided a vaguely welcome distraction from his residual suspicion and distrust.

"I drink tea, usually chai," he allowed, trotting behind Orais and somewhat to the side. He didn't want to run into the mage and he didn't want to let him out of his sight. "Sweet but no cream. This digestive tract can't really handle it." And it was very annoying, because he liked his tea sweet and creamy and decadent and dessert-y. "Coffee stinks."

They made it to a tea house that was inside of the school. Octain took his spell book and set it on the table on his side. Opening it so he had something to read while he was waiting. Text slowly appearing on the pages. Unreadable to all who would dare peek. "Good to know. chai tea is very good once in a while. I prefer green or earl grey." He stated.

A waiter came by shortly after he sat down. Octain spoke lightly. "I will take some Earl Grey. Two sugar and two milk please." He said. Looking at Yun. "What ever you wish. My treat for my mistake." He stated. before looking at a small menu for something to eat. Chanting a bit before removing his mask. His face was.... Covered in another mask that looked similar. The spell book's paged flipping to one page. Before returning to it's original page. The mask. Similar to the one he put on as he then tied it to his side.

"Well.. This shall be interesting.."

When they reached the tea house, Yun only jumped onto a seat to use it as a step towards the table. He was not tall enough to do much of anything in this form, but he could take advantage of his size to sit on top of things. And use his apparent drinking companion to ward off anything past an initial glance.

"Chai tea, three sugar, no cream." He gave his tail a little flick before draping it so that the fire hung off the edge of the table, away from anything it might set alight.

Then he stared at Orais' mask swap. ...... seriously, who wore masks over masks? Uh. Back to weird zone.

Octain awaited for his tea as he flipped through pages of his spell book. Reading and nodding his head at some the things he has written. Taking out a quill to change or edit things. Or swapped the languages around to make it easier to read.

"Three sugars? Would you like some tea with your sugar?" He said with a smile under his illusion mask. He thought he would try to lighten up the situation with a good laugh as he closed his eyes for a moment. His orange eyes were now hazel with the mask removed.

Though to most people it would seem weird. It just make it easier to drink tea since he never took the mask off around people anyways and found a way around it using his own magic.

"Well Yun, enjoy being here?"

Yun fidgeted. Sitting and waiting for something while the person you were kind of talking to read was boring and weird and he didn't like it. He also didn't like Orais' attempt at a joke, and his unimpressed glare was his attempt to show it.

"It makes up for not being able to tolerate dairy right now," he said flatly. "You have to make adjustments when stuck in the form with the most particular digestive tract." His dragon form in particular didn't much care what he ate. It had... been quite a while since he had been able to eat anything as a human. A couple of sparks fell from his tail at the thought.

"I would have much preferred it not be necessary that I be here," he answered stiffly. "But there are worse places to be, even in my current state."

"Good point.. My daughter is the same way.. She's part cat as it is.." He wasn't entirely wrong. lexi couldn't have cream at all. So his favorite item for coffee was only settled at work and had to put milk in it at home or drink it black. "dragons are interesting. What else can you shift into? A cat, human and dragon? Or is it limitless?"

"I agree.. I came from being a nomad to this place. It's taken some time to get used to, but I found a place I can call home for now.. Until something else happens." He shrugged. Giving his own answer to a question that wasn't asked. "Well, it's a good place. Maybe you'll find a place that you feel at home. who knows?" He stated rather contently.

He closed his spell book and as the tea came he handed off his catalyst to the waiter. "Please hold onto this for me. I do not wish to get anything on it. I am sure my guest wouldn't like to see my head in my book as well."

His and Yun's tea and promptly placed on the table. His spell book whisked away as his fake mask stayed. He picked up the tea cup as he put it into his mask. As if it wasn't there. Taking a drink from the tea he sighed contently.

"I am sorry for my earlier joke. I had not meant to make you tense. It was meant to calm you. Though it had the reverse effect."

Tch. He was zero parts housecat. House cats were pets, nothing more. He was solitary, independent, social on his own terms, and, most of all, his own master.

Chatter, though. He let his tail flick. "I am not a general shifter. My heritage is nekomata and aitvaras. I don't need anything else." More tail flicking, as if the appendage wanted to remind Orais that it was part fire.

"I used to have a home. It ceased to be safe." Even his eyes darkened at the thought. He had nightmares about that day. It hadn't needed to be some dramatic dark and stormy night to linger so strongly.

Orais' general weirdness was plenty of distraction, though. "Apology accepted," he said automatically. He wasn't going to forget, but accepting apologies was the polite thing to do.
