Yun was feeling pretty good. He'd driven off a few kids who had wanted to pat the widdle kitty, about half of them crying but only one even singed, and he hadn't had anyone close important doors on him yet. It still bothered him that he couldn't open most doors, but it wasn't as if he were so unfamiliar with this form that he couldn't make it work a lot of the time. Automatic sensors, handicap push-buttons, lever-handled doors... He might look like a cat, but that hardly meant he was limited to what cats did.

He could also do some things like a cat. Like explore, and make people run away from him. Well, maybe that was more of a dragon thing. Whatever. He was both. And more. Even if he couldn't prove it very well right now. That didn't change what he was. His nature wasn't defined by his appearance, and damn right he was going to keep telling himself that.

Whatever. He was exploring, and he hadn't even found enough dust to risk setting himself on fire yet. He was still in a hallway dotted with classrooms and offices and whatnot, though he was fairly sure it wasn't a hallway he was going to have any classes in any time soon. Not much point in studying magic he couldn't use.

Maybe he should just set something on fire to distract himself. It was always so easy to pass it off as an accident.

Octain couldn't help himself but to walk around the school in his spare time since he had some. His eyes gazing about the place as people greeted him and he nodded his head. Not so much having conversation as just wanting to go around the school to see the sights once more seeing as he enjoyed it more than anything. As his red cloak covered his body he looked to see a cat roaming the halls of the school.

The cat was.. Interesting. As if made of magic as the tip of it's tail was lit. Though the cat did not seem.. Too problematic as it were. Especially inside of the library and or his office. He moved to intercept it, thought quickly lost of track of it due to the amount of people.

Eventually he thought he caught wind of it. Though it wasn't anything special. Just someone with pyrokenisis.

"Where could that cat have gone.. Must belong to someone with in the school." He said to himself. What a great time to be out and about.

Yun was kind of keeping an eye out for anyone following him, just out of basic paranoia and well-earned suspicion regarding ulterior motives, but it took him a while to notice, and then accept, that he kept seeing the same person. And that he wasn't just going in circles.

And, of course, when he decided what to do about it he couldn't find the red-cloaked stranger anymore. Well. Everyone here was a stranger. Yun wasn't particularly keen on changing that either. He just wanted to fix himself and vanish. Be free somewhere. Maybe go hunt down that idiot and see how he liked having an angry dragon stomp his idiot face.

RED CLOAK. Yun slunk into full stealthy stalking mode, letting his black fur blend into the shadows while the fire of his tail hid behind his body. He would follow the following stranger for a while. Perhaps he would get some clues, like whether it was random, he was a creeper, he could detect the curse on Yun and wanted to take advantage of it, he had been sent by the idiot...

There were a lot of really bad things this guy could be. Yun was probably going to have to set him on fire.

Octain had eventually given up the hunt for the cat as a ruse. His body turning a corner. A place were students were barely existed or came to as he just waited for a moment for the cat to turn the corner, realizing that he had become the prey at this point. Though he thought a small trap would be nice to catch this flame tailed familiar. Looking around for a moment as he watched the cat.

Looking at the black cat that crossed his path. He knelt down.

"Are you lost from your master Familiar?"

He said. He wasn't too sure that it was a familiar, though seemed like something someone would get. Black cat with a flame tipped tail. Would be interesting to say the least. His orange eyes and mask, though intimidating his voice tried to be soothing and almost humble to the arcane being before him.

Either student or familiar, this was someone who he would enjoy talking or. Though he wasn't prepared for anything else.

Any poise and calm Yun had instantly vanished, replaced by a ridge of raised fur along his spine, ears flat against his skull, and a rather impressive show of orange sparks from his tail, had he happened to want to say so himself. He had other things to say. Well, spit. Amongst an unhealthy dose of growls.

"I am not lost, am definitely not lost from a master" -spit, disgusting word - "and am not a $%^&ing familiar." Sore spot much. His reaction was also quite excessive just for some student who was regularly mistaken for a familiar, but then his background explained that pretty solidly. "And don't get any $%^&ing ideas either. I'm not interested in being anyone's $%^&ing familiar."

"Forgive my words. I see that the words place an ill temper on you. Forgive my ignorance." he said with a slight bow. He felt quite stupid that he had thought this student a familiar. Standing up. Now acting like they were equal. "I need not a familiar. I already have chosen a friend for my journeys." He and his familiar were equals. shared the same goals and yet.. Opposites in all things going about it.

"Why do you take the form of a cat? Possibly why people would consider you 'the thing'." He said trying not to say the word in order to attempt to calm him down. Blinking a few times. "Forgive me for my improper manners once more.. My name is Orais." He said with a bow again.

Yun kept a very suspicious eye on the mage. He couldn't be sure that the pleasant, polite words weren't a simple ruse, intended to get him to lower his guard and then - BAM - into a fireproofed bag went the kitty cat, to get fitted with a collar to go with his shiny curse.

He wasn't inclined to be unnecessarily rude, though, just to protect himself. He let his fur settled down and forced himself to take a deep breath. Calm. Collected. In control. Like he was about to go to work and the mage was just a mutilated near-corpse.

"Because I'm a shifter," he said, teeth still a bit set even after all his efforts to calm himself. At least his tail didn't appear to be spitting sparks anymore. "People consider me that because someone thought it would be a good idea to try to force me to be one. Now I'm stuck... and his face is probably pretty useless."

That part of the whole chaotic trauma could at least bring the ghost of a smile to his feline face. He'd mauled him pretty damn good. "I'm Yun," he grudgingly admitted. If this Orais guy didn't give him a full name, then he would return the lack of favour.

"A shifter? I should have suspected that from the start.. Though most student walk these halls as humans so.. I can see where the confusion sets in.. A shame that it worked the way it did." He said rubbing his chin. Trying to think if there was a way to try and fix it when he snapped his fingers.

"It is indeed a pleasure to meet you Yun." He said kneeling down a bit as well as putting his hand out for a handshake. Trying to be somewhat civil. Wanting to be nice to the student at least as he spoke up. "I MAY be able to fix what ails you. Though. It is your decision. I am not 100% sure what had happened, but I may be able to do something."

He gave it some thought as he shook his head. Trying to think of something. "If not I would understand from what I have heard so far." He said standing up. "regardless.. Would you care to join me for a cup of tea? No strings. Just two people talking over a cup of tea."

Yun would still be a fire hazard in his 'human' form, but the limitations of that shift were honestly kind of hazy. It had been so very, very long since he'd last walked on two legs... and not just fallen over because he was trying to do it in the wrong form.

He leaned back when Orais crouched in front of him, but it proved to be just for a handshake. Of sorts. He grimaced but extended a paw. The mage's next words caught his attention, though. With a mixture of suspicion and excitement, but still.

"I suppose I could consider talking with you," he allowed. "In a fully public place." Let his suspicion be open. It might keep Orais from trying anything annoying or stupid.

Octain gave Yun a quick handshake as he then let go. Beginning to walk away as he waved Yun to follow after his answer. Walking through the school to get to a local small tea shop in the school. Since he was saying 'Fully Public' he couldn't take the cat to his office, or his classroom. That left either the cafe or somewhere else. Possibly the small coffee shop outside of the school... Well not somewhere too far in case he was called out to cover a class or something along those lines.

"I believe I can understand your suspicions of me. I would possibly do the same if I were you." He said as he kept walking. Hopefully Yun was keeping up or walking with him. "Do you have any preference to tea? Green? Chai? Or are you a coffee person?" He said as he walked through the school. Trying to get outside through the mess of people that were around. Seemed that most of the students were trying to get to class as he bumped into a few people.

Some feared Octain, others greeted him properly as he just kept his stride.
