Axel liked being alone in the forest, and she meant alone. No husband, no wolf to protect her. She was all alone on a rather foggy night. She sat, propped on the chair that her sentient ring had made. It wasn't comfy. As she leaned the chair back, it molded into a lawn chair, slowly. Axel gazed happily at the moonlight that was touching her face ever so gently.

He still could not remember it, that thing which he was searching for, and the liveliness of the night had him almost convinced that this would be a complete waste of his time. There were still too many animals around. Had that -spirit? Demon? Monster?- being been around, then surely they would have all hidden themselves by now, instead of scattering deeper into the woods as he approached. Still undeterred, however, Ishikawa pressed on.

Though she enjoyed the silence, it felt as if she wasn't fully alone. It was a nagging feeling that she couldn't shake off of her. She leaned up, looked left, then right, then went back down. She had no reason to be paranoid, she had the skills to protect herself. Axel closed her eyes, choosing to hum a soft tune to herself as she felt herself get comfy.

There was a quiet noise hidden under the sound of branches combing out the wind. Ishikawa paused for a moment, listening. "Is somebody there?" He asked the night, calm. Being loud was idiocy but being silent was completely useless. Any truly threatening supernatural being would already have sensed him simply from his aura.

She flashed her eyes open at the sound of someone's voice. It sounded a bit weak to her, though maybe that was because her humming had minorly blocked it out. She stopped her tune, darted her eyes to both sides, but not seeing anything as of yet. Was the voice in her mind? Perhaps behind her? "Who wants to know?" Axel echoed out to whoever was listening.

To have somebody actually answering back took him off-guard. He should not have been so surprised. The woods were different from the Forbidden Forest and Manta Carlos surely had its share of nighttime adventurers.

It did not fully shake his suspicions as he started slowly in the direction of that voice.

"A priest," Ishikawa answered back after a thought. Are you human? He would have liked to ask. But lying was easy.

For a few seconds, there was nothing but silence, which allowed Axel to prop herself into a chair as she searched around. "What type of priest?" That type of thing wasn't uncommon on Manta Carlos, but she wanted to make sure that she wasn't putting herself in danger by talking to this voice.
