Snow's response was somehow unnerving and comforting at the same time. Hal could never understand how on earth he could feel two opposing emotions at once but he knew that that was definitely the answer he was looking for. Though he didn't expect that he would be answered so forwardly. Normally that would be a huge secret but, well, looks like it wasn't? Unless... the secret was the evening part of things.

Hal forced a smile as he nodded to Snow before she turned to get his drinks. Could it? No. She seemed really... nice. She? He? Okay, Hal could never really tell what gender ghosts were and a mechanical voice box didn't make that any easier. While he pondered on his discovery, he'd already started eating. Still, Snow was too nice to be the killer ghost that was in the story, he thought. What if there was someone else that she herself wasn't aware of? He almost choked on his food for that.

Snow came right in time to bring his drink and all he could muster up was a smile and a muttered "thanks" before she left him for the kids. Look, she was playing with the kids, how is that a bloodthirsty monster? Thinking about it only made him even more curious.

He just had to know.

Hal finished most of the pizza and his drink when he decided he should really ask from her directly. But now he was debating whether to call her or approach her himself. There was a lot of kids playing with her and he wasn't sure if it was a good idea to just waltz up to her and suddenly ask her for ghost stories. Well, then the most logical thing was the first option then. But... Ah, fuck it.

Hal abruptly got up from his seat and walked to Snow, tugging on her fur. "Um, excuse me...?"

Snow laughed in a rather goofy way as the children played with her, and though she could tell that her fur was getting a bit dirty with the greasy finger of the kids that just finished eating their pizza she couldn’t mind less. After all, the cleaning staff was incredibly efficient and she knew that she was going to be perfectly clean before the pizzeria opened the next day.

Being an animatronic, she couldn’t feel anything, so she really didn’t noticed when Hal started tugging on her fur, but she did hear his voice, what immediately made her turn around and look at him. By the way that he was looking at her it wasn’t too hard to tell that he wanted to talk with her and that he was a bit scared. She didn’t had to be a genius to know why he wanted to talk with her, and she knew perfectly that this kind of talk wasn’t something that the kids should listen to. Adolescents and adults took ghost stories as a joke or just some interesting stuff, but kids feared them and she didn’t want to scare her little buddies.

“Wait a second-nd” Her eyes turned black with a glowing white pupil for a second of two before they returned to normal. Almost immediately the other animatronics started to sing and cheer, calling for the kids in their own goofy ways. Just as she expected, the kids immediately ran towards them, leaving them alone “Ok, now tell me-e, is there anything-thing that you wanted to ask, Hal?” She kinda knew what he wanted to ask, yes, but she preferred to let him ask the questions himself.

Hal stood there in awe, just staring at the other animatronics that started up on cue. That wasn't coincidence. Hal was smart enough to know that this wasn't chance. This was Snow's doing; he just knew it. It didn't need to take a group of ghosts to do this sort of feat. All you needed was a really strong ghost and...

Hal swallowed the lump he had in his throat. This made things complicated that now Hal was even more curious about the ghost. Snow's robotic voice snapped him out of his trance. "A-anything, everything; I want to ask about the ghost, okay?" he managed to utter. in a hushed voice

Well, that was what he managed to say; he already knew Snow was the haunted robot. That had already been established. "I-I mean-- well, yeah that's pretty much the gist of it and all but-- I just really want to know why there's a ghost in a family pizzeria, and why an animatronic and," he paused to look around if anyone could hear before leading to Snow, "the rumors about late night ghost activity."

Snow chuckled a bit, ruffling Hal’s hair a bit in a friendly way, careful to be as gentle as possible and not let her animatronic strength harm him “Relax and a-a-ask away, buddy” Her voice was the closest thing to a whisper that an animatronic could do. She knew as well as him what was going through his mind, it was more than enough to see the mix of nervousness and curiosity on his face as he talked to her, he knew...he knew.

Snow kneeled to get at Hal’s height and be able to have a face-to-face conversation with him without dragging too much attention “It’s a really lo-lo-long story, Hal, I would ne-e-eed some hours to explain everything to you-you and about the night…” She lowered her gaze a bit, closing her eyes and sighing deeply…in a mechanical way. She couldn’t tell him, her dark secret was a bit too horrifying to be shared as easily as this one.

“Just…don’t come here at ni-night” Her voice was a lot more serious than usual and it had a slightly deeper tone, a tone that sounded more like that of a warning than anything else.

Every instance Snow was acting really nice to Hal made him really confused about the whole ordeal of the haunted animatronic. People are ridiculous. This snow leopard was way too nice right now to be a killer. He might as well assume there was another one if ever the rumors were true so for now, he might just hang out with this one before he scared himself later when he tries to sneak in.

At least, that was the plan until Snow's warning came. "Just don't come here at night," came her mechanical voice. Though glitch as it was, he could feel her seriousness in those words it send a chill down Hal's spine. But it was all the more reason for him to grow even more curious about the danger.

"W-why?" he stammered out, "I-is it that bad?" He was curious yes, but he was also very terrified at how even Snow was making it out to be. "If it's really as bad as I heard then... I don't think I'll mind hearing the long story instead."

Snow just lowered her gaze and ears, looking pretty sad at the moment. He couldn’t help but remember what she had done during those awful dark hours, the people she had killed and how she had done it during those terrible moments of blind rage. She felt guilty, way too guilty, if she could give back the life that she had so brutally stolen from those poor guys she would immediately do it, regardless of how high the price could be.

She shook her head a bit, trying to get rid of the dark memories before focusing back on Hal, she couldn’t go on and look all depressed in front of him, that probably would only make him ask more questions and she would be forced to answer at some point, losing the young boy’s friendship in the act.

“Well, se-e-everal years ago…something happened in a-a-a pizzeria, the first o-o-one with these animatronics, there were-e-e only two at that time. The llama and…well, the sno-o-ow leopard” She almost chuckled a bit, referring to herself, or more like referring to the suit before it was possessed, like if she was part of a fairytale felt a bit funny “I-I-It was a normal night and the-e-e night guard was just chilling-ing, doing her job…” She started to tell the story, like if she was someone looking instead of the night guard herself.

Funny enough, that was the only day before her death that she remembered clearly…if she could only remember the face of her killer though…

Hal noticed Snow's expression drop at him asking about the evening occurrences at the pizzeria and realized maybe it wasn't such a good topic to have. Yeah, he was so curious but what if Snow was just as equally terrified of that ghost all the same? Hal thought of the idea of just telling her to forget about him having ever asked.

But the moment she started talking again, Hal decided he could probably set that aside for now. He just stood there in front of her as she began her story.

“Well, se-e-everal years ago…something happened in a-a-a pizzeria, the first o-o-one with these animatronics, there were-e-e only two at that time. The llama and…well, the sno-o-ow leopard. I-I-It was a normal night and the-e-e night guard was just chilling-ing, doing her job…”

Hal breathed in. The snow leopard. He'd take a guess that it was probably this exact one standing in front of him then. But then that would mean that the killer ghost could have been... nah. Save the theories for later. Hal's gaze flickered to his side, "We should probably go to a table so people we're not at the center of the crowd," he muttered tugging at her fur as he led her back to the table. Hal almost hesitated to ask again, "So... what happened then?"

Snow nodded, if she was going to tell this story she obviously would prefer to not have a big crowd listening. Herd enough was to hide the terrible things that happened at night to now have people whispering left and right about her own death. She really didn’t want to risk the pizzeria.

She tried to stay in a natural position near to him, so nobody would pay any attention to them, but she still could keep talking without anyone around them hearing “She was e-e-eating a slice of pizza when the clock on the wa-a-all startled her as it hit 12 AM, she decided to che-e-eck the cameras, just i-i-in case, and then she saw it, a shady figure wa-wa-walking around the closed pizzeria. She did what a-a-any night guard would do, she-e-e grabbed a flashlight and a gun for protection-ion as she started to chase down the my-y-ysterious intruder”.

As she talked, the memories came back to her, as clearly as when she experienced them. The pizzeria was still pretty new and its money income was rather low, so she had only an extremely limited amount of power during her shift, reason why she always carried the flashlight with her, turning on the lights was a huge no-no, as it would only eat up her power way too quickly.

“For some hours-rs, they played a game of the cat and the mouse, the gua-a-ard chasing the intruder across the-e-e pizzeria, chasing him and even having to-o-o return to her office to check the cameras from tim-time to time to find him once more. After so-so-some time she finally managed to corner him inside-e-e the backroom and entered, gun in ha-a-and as a protection…”

She felt a mix of feelings as she reached that part of the story, none of them exactly pleasant.

Hal had his full attention on Snow by now a she continued to tell her story, his mind visualizing as much as he could. But with this sort of visual imagery, he could pretty much picture everything, save for Snow's real face. Hal was completely engrossed by the sequence of events, somehow feeling the anxiety and chill that could have only been felt by Snow during that night.

And then Snow's voice trailed off. Hal wanted to know what happened from her, but by how things were now, he'd have guessed that could have been her final moments before she became what she was now. He wanted to ask her so she'd just tell him but something at the back of his mind told him "no, just keep things as they are".

"H-how bad was it?" were the words that tumbled out of his mouth. How bad was what? Hal wanted to know how brutal was the murder. If he knew enough about ghosts, he'd be able to accept that the malevolent spirit that haunted the pizzeria was indeed the one in front of him. If she had been killed just as brutally, then he'd understand why the ghost would be so vengeful.

"Y-you don't have to tell me in full detail if you can't. That--" Hal tried to swallow the lump that had made its way into his throat, "If you just tell me that it was bad, I... I think... I think that could be enough."

Snow just let out a mechanical sigh, closing her eyes. She was really going to tell him? Yeah, probably yes, she just hated the memory “Unluckily for her, when she-e-e entered she couldn’t see anybody…it wa-a-as then when she was hit on the back of the head-ead. A blow strong enough to make her fall a-a-and leave her unable to move, but not enough to kno-o-ock her out. She only felt the intense pain when-en she was stabbed on the back, the sha-a-arp blade of the dagger barely missing her he-e-eart. She was dragged by the murderer, still conscious and ble-e-eeding, and stuffed inside…one of the suits-uits, the last thing she ever heard was the alarm of the clock going off exactly a-a-at 6 AM”.

She opened her eyes, looking at Hal with a huge mix of feelings, it was a good thing that the animatronic’s face couldn’t show how troubled she was. The technology was good, but it wasn’t enough to cover all the expressions that a normal human could do “They left the body to rot i-i-in there, nobody knowing about it until the-e-e smell coming from it, as well as the blood and-nd mucus coming from-om the mouth and eyes gave it away-y-y. They took away the decaying body and clea-a-aned the suit perfectly, e-e-everything in complete secret. But even after tha-a-at the soul never could leave the animatronic…and now it’s simply lost-st, with no idea of why-y-y she’s even still here”.

She tried to look as cheerful as always, forcing the suit to keep a gentle smile and the ears high, but deep inside she was feeling pretty darn awful. If she knew why she was still stuck here then she would be able to fulfill said mission and move on…or at least get a purpose.
