Name: Coatzin Yoliztli
Age: 20
Birthday: August 2nd
Gender: Female
Category: Student
Class: College, Medicine.

Appearance Description:
  • ~With a height of 5'2" and a weight of barely 99 pounds, you can tell that Coatzin is your average everyday latin girl, if not a bit smaller than usual.
  • ~She has a slender build, and this mixed with her height and weight makes her look a bit more fragile than she really is.
  • ~Her skin has a peachy tone
  • ~Her eyes are yellow and are easily comparable to those of a viper thanks to the shape of their pupils.
  • ~Most of her teeth resemble those of a human (Though they are a bit sharper), her upper fangs are just like those of a rattlesnake, she even can fold them against the roof of her mouth to avoid hurting herself with them or being forced to keep them poking out of her mouth all the time.
  • ~Before you ask, yes, she can produce venom at will. She doesn't likes to inject venom though, so almost all her bites are dry and harmless...more or less.
  • ~To match her fangs, she has a forked tongue. From time to time she may flick her tongue in a snake-like way. Thanks to her tongue she has a small lisp, and though she had learned to avoid it almost completely most of the time, in certain occasions she may drag the "S" a bit, making it should like a snake hiss. Both the flicking of her tongue and her lisp are related to her mood.
  • ~She has two wings covered in beautiful rainbow feathers. Their length and strength, mixed with her height and weight, allow her to fly freely through the skies at high speeds and even do a couple of tricks if she wants to. If she decides to fly at a calm peace, letting the air currents do almost all the work for her while keeping her wings almost completely immobile and fully open she can stay on the air for fairly prolonged amounts of time.
  • ~She has a fairly long and strong snake tail covered in rainbow feathers, with some especially long feathers making a fluffy tuft at its end. After several uncomfortable occurrences she learned to keep most of her tail wrapped around her own body. While flying she uses the tail to keep her stability and balance, thing that has proven to be a huge help when fighting strong winds.
  • ~Instead of hair she has some feathers that share the same rainbow coloration as the ones on her wings and tail. Usually these are mostly flat, only their tips lifting on a slight curl. When she gets scared or someone startles her these tend to puff up completely, the reason they do this is to "Give her a bigger and more menacing look", but let's be honest here, the only thing they really do is make her look hilarious, so she immediately forces them to get flat once more with the hands as soon as possible.
  • ~She has some smaller feathers around her wrists and ankles, unlike the rest of her feathers these are predominantly emerald green. There is an occasional feather here and there that isn't green though, giving it a more colorful look at these feathers.
  • ~She has several scales on her shoulders, upper arms, back, neck, cheeks, forehead, upper nose and sides of her head. The predominant color is emerald green, but scales of other colors are scattered between them.
  • ~They maybe don't look like it, but her feathers are quite soft, probably softer than any bird's.
  • ~Even if she tries to mask her emotions from time to time, it's really hard for her to do so. She may be able to force her face to go neutral or hold a fake-emotion, but is fairly easy to know her true mood by looking straight at her eyes and see the movements of her tail.
  • ~She likes to wear loose colorful clothes, the most usual colors being emerald green, sky blue, purple and silver. Her clothes may have a couple of golden designs here and there.
  • ~She always carries a purple backpack with her, where she carries all her valuable stuff, which includes some notebooks, pencils, her videogame handheld console and its videogames.
  • ~She always wears a medallion with the shape of a Quetzalcoatl wrapping a multicolored gem. The colors of this gem are always moving and changing in apparently random patterns.

Likes: Flying, being around friends, videogames, helping others, learning new stuff, rainbows.
Dislikes: Not being allowed to fly, boredom, selfish or/and rude people, being forced to do anything against her will.
Weaknesses: Fire and water (Burnt/Wet feathers wouldn't allow her to fly), a bit too impulsive, willing to do anything for her friends, lack of physical strength.
Strengths: Really fast and agile (Both in land and air), quick-thinker, fast learner.
Fears: Not being able to fly again, not being able to help her friends, death.
Habits/Hobbies: Play videogames, drawing, listening to music, reading.
Skills / Talents: Really good at videogames and drawing, fast learner, ability to make quick diagnosis when somebody is ill (With the required knowledge, of course).

Personality Description:
  • ~Loyal: Coatzin is loyal to death, literally, you can always rely on her and she won't disappoint you. You can tell her a secret and you can take for sure that nobody will ever hear it from her. Also, if she ever makes a promise, she'll do anything and everything to stay true to her word.
  • ~Friendly: She loves making friends wherever she goes, so it isn't unusual for her to talk to anyone she may consider interesting in an attempt to do so. Anyone can talk to her, and as long as they're polite they'll be welcomed instantly.
  • ~Thinks with her heart instead of her mind: This usually causes her to make things that could be considered impulsive, maybe even illogic by some people as her emotions take over her actions. Yeah, this indeed can cause her trouble from time to time, but you it also helps her to see solutions to certain problems that fully logical people wouldn't see, as well to understand other people's feelings better.
  • ~Curious: She's constantly trying to find out what causes the stuff around her and why, fair is to say that she's constantly knowledge-thirsty, reason why it isn't unusual to see her reading books or articles related to whatever had caught her interest in that moment during her free time. If she sees anything that can wake her curiosity she'll try to investigate as well, thing that had caused her to get in trouble several times before.
  • ~Easily amused: Whenever she sees anything new she'll immediately grow interested towards the new thing and probably won't stop until her curiosity is satisfied. This can cause some people to think that she's a bit simple-minded from time to time
  • ~Playful: Since she hates getting bored, at the slightest sign of this she'll immediately start acting like a small kid who wants to play, depending on her boredom levels she may even reach the point where people may see her as immature or childish.
  • ~Hard to upset: It's really hard for anyone to make her get angry, sad or offended. Most of the time she just let the insults slide, or sometimes she doesn't even realizes that she has been insulted at all.
  • ~Cheerful and optimistic: You usually would find her smiling and enjoying life at its fullest, always seeking for that mythical rainbow in even the most terrible storm. She's constantly trying to spread this optimism to everyone around her.
  • ~Impulsive: Even if making her get angry is a bit of a challenge, if you manage to do so she can become fairly aggressive and attack without warning. She may not be physically strong most of the time, but drop your guard against her can be a huge mistake. Against the rest of her body, her long tail can be fairly strong and she can produce a really lethal venom.
  • ~Second chances: She easily forgives and forgets most of the time, giving out second chances like free candy to anyone around her. She's a firm believer that most people only need some time and support to take the right path. This can lead her to be betrayed fairly easily, but she isn't a fool, a third chance can be a bit tricky to get.
  • ~Easy to manipulate: Thanks to her overall personality, it isn't that hard to manipulate her if you know how to do it, but be warned, if she catches you trying or actually doing so she'll immediately stop trusting you at all.
  • ~Dare-devil: If watching her aerial tricks isn't enough to let you know his, I'll tell you now. She loves to stare at the danger straight to the face from time to time. Luckily for her the worst thing that had ever happened to her so far was a broken arm.
  • ~Relaxed: The word stress usually holds little to no meaning to her, you can find her chilling and laughing calmly when other are running around the place with panicked or angry expressions.
  • ~Gamer: Whenever she isn't studying or satisfying her curiosity, you'll find her with her precious videogames. Her favorite videogames are Pokémon, Left4Dead, Resident Evil, Luigi's Mansion and The Legend of Zelda.

Powers:
Blessing of Life: Coatzin's main ability. Through this ability she's able to heal living beings who can be in trouble. This ability has proven to be a huge help for her after she entered in college. Yet, she rarely uses it at all, since she thinks that it would make things a bit too easy for her and unfair for her classmates. She would only use it under extreme circumstances. The ability takes its toll on Coatzin's energy after she uses it, and though it was extremely tiring to use when she was younger, now that she mastered it she rarely feels the side-effects anymore. She does feel a bit tired after using it if she decides to heal a fatal wound or a terminal illness though.
Now, she's able to bring back to life someone that has died recently (It won't work on anyone that has been dead for 10 or more hours), but doing so will take a major toll on her and she'll need to recover before trying again (What usually takes from 24 to 48 hours). Even then, if the revival works or not depends a lot on how the person died, it's easier to revive someone who died from a single stab than someone who died from old age or by blood loss, and luck. It's almost like flipping a coin. Now, there are some occasions where reviving the person will be extremely hard for her and the toll that the power will take for her, regardless of the successful or unsuccessful outcome, will cause her to faint (An example for this would be someone that was dismembered or cut in half). Reviving anyone else before fully recovering is a huge no-no, since there is at least a 95% chances of her dying during the process as the power drains her energy, if she has any left, and starts feeding on her life force.
She can heal quickly and is almost immune to most diseases thanks to this, but just like when she heals somebody else, her ability will use her energy to do so. The amount of needed energy for self-healing will be doubled or tripled, depending on the wound.

Light manipulation: This is her passive ability. It may not do much, but if has proven to be fairly helpful in the past before. She can produce or absorb light at will, and even control it to her liking. Yeah, it may look like only a small show of lights for most people, but after toying with it for a bit she had managed to bend the light enough to hide her un-human appearance and blend in with the humans. Yet, this is only an illusion, so people can still touch what she's hiding or even break the illusion under certain circumstances, so she has to be careful. She can hide herself using this ability a well, almost like some kind of camouflage.

Animae Commuta: Through the medallion she can change her physical shape to that of a full human or a full Quetzalcoatl, no illusions here, this is for real. She still is learning how to control this spell, so it could be considered as "Inactive" or "In training" right now.

Biography:
Coatzin was quite an unusual child. Born as a hybrid between a Quetzalcoatl hiding behind a human form thanks to a spell and a human girl after they both drank a bit too much. When the father found out that he had a daughter he panicked quite a lot, after all, how are you going to explain to the girl why their accidental daughter had Quetzalcoatl characteristics when only a couple of minutes ago she didn't even knew that said creatures existed in the very first place?
It took him quite a while to help her to calm down and explain. Let's say that thing didn't went as he hoped though, since the girl was furious at him, and her anger was obviously justified. After a long heated argument, his father just took the small hybrid with him and left without saying a word or looking back. His daughter would be safer with him, he was completely sure of that.
Though he would never admit it, he felt a huge mix of feelings after he reached the place that he called home. He never had thought about being a dad before and now he had this little hatchling...uh...baby...hybrid creature with him that he had to take care of, and he had no idea of how to take care of her at all! Hard enough would be to take care of a Quetzalcoatl hatchling for him, a MALE Quetzalcoatl, to now having to deal with a hybrid that obviously was going to have mixed needs. Just because he could use a spell to transform himself into a human it didn't meant that he knew enough about humans to know how they took care of their young.
Even though his father did try to take good care of Coatzin, it was obvious that it was easier said than done. Even if more than once her father had to do some last minute emergency research about how to care for her, since he screwed up more than once, as she grew up she learned to forgive and forget fairly easily, it wasn't his father's fault that he didn't knew how to take care of an hybrid anyways, right? On the good side, she learned to be fairly independent rather quickly.
Her childhood was a bit strange and with quite a lot of slips from her father and herself, but it never bothered her at all, she was happy with her life. Her father felt a lot more relaxed once she started to do things on her own, he still kept a close eye on her, yes, but at least now he didn't had to be worried 24/7 about what he should do and if what he just did was the right thing or not.
It wasn't until she hit her 12 years that he finally decided to find out if she had powers and, if she did, help her to train them a bit, she was going to need them in the nearby future after all, and he had already waited for a bit too long to start this thanks to his constant insecurities. Funny enough, they found out about the light manipulation ability before they found out about her main ability. Not that she minded though, since it gave her some extra time to practice it and find out how to blend in as a common human through illusions. She already knew a nice amount of info about Quetzalcoatls thanks to her dad and now she wanted to learn about her other half, humans.
Even if it obviously made her dad get worried, as soon as she mastered her little hiding technique she started to roam around the human streets, learning a lot of things while doing so. Like the need of keeping her hidden wings as close to her as possible and how doors could close on your long tail (Which hurts like Hell) so you had to have them wrapped around your body as much as possible. She also discovered something that would become a really important part of her life rather quickly: Videogames.
Though earning money was a bit hard for her it took her quite a while to gather the money needed to buy her first videogame console, which ended up being a Nintendo DS, and some videogames, she never gave up, and even her dad gave her some money as well after he noticed why his daughter was so interested.
She spent several years living a life with a feet on each world, just like any hybrid, but instead of growing attached to any of them over the other or feeling confused she simply accepted it and even started to find out the advantages of being a half-blood over a pure species. You could imagine her surprise when she came back home one day after exploring the human city once more only to find his dad, who never let her leave his home even after she proved to be fairly independent, with a letter for her.
Curiosity taking over, like always, she quickly grabbed it and read it with his father. He was a bit hesitant at first, but after a lot of talking he finally acceded to let her go, but not before giving her a small gift. He took off the medallion that he always carried around with him, the medallion that allowed him to transform into a human, and gave it to her after giving her the basics of how to use it, unluckily there was no time for her to test it out. With that gift, several promises and goodbyes, Coatzin finally left his father's home, flying towards this interesting place, Starlight Academy.

Additional Information: Quetzalcoatl venom is extremely lethal, and it always kills after 5 to 10 minutes if the antidote isn't given to the bitten person. Since Quetzalcoatl venom is so rare, so is the antidote. Fortunately, Coatzin knows how to make it and usually carries a small bottle or two on her backpack with her. She knows that she can be a bit too aggressive from time to time and she prefers to come prepared, the last thing that she wants is to kill anyone.
