Manta Carlos as a city has only existed for a little over 100 years, but has expanded and modernized immensely in that time. The city's layout is designed to minimize the need for motor vehicles on the road, and as such walking, biking, and taking the buses or trolleys are the most common forms of transportation around the city.
Architecturally, Manta Carlos City is a cultural mosaic. While many buildings follow more standard European styles of construction, it is not at all uncommon to find entire neighborhoods that have a distinct cultural influence from the people who live there, or for a building with a much older architectural influence to exist between more modern neighbors. This makes the city as much of a sight to see in itself even without getting into the diversity among the population.
There is no single majority in Manta Carlos City, but humans make up the largest minority with roughly forty percent of the overall population. More 'common' supernatural species, such as vampires and werewolves, make up other large minorities. The city is not exactly a melting pot and some areas do have higher densities of particular cultures and species than others. These areas are sometimes given colloquial names though no official designation exists.
