The man paused in the midst of his attempt to stone the ocean to death. "I dunno," he said. "No offense or anything but you're a lady and rules say that when things are dangerous, I gotta be the one to bite it first." But Luke started to nod very sagely, "That's the rules, you know, even if you're a water person and got the whole sea right here in front of you to crash down on people, mhm."
She did have a point, though. What they needed was bait. But using girls was really rude, Luke thought. Well, maybe that was the wrong word for it. Maybe things were different as long as she stayed safe. Maybe then, she was just doing stuff like normal.
"Well, maybe if I come with you, that'll be fine," he said. "You just gotta stay safe, okay?" Eyeing the water suspiciously, he inched back into the ocean.
