Hello SA! I want to build a pantheon of gods. I have some early stuff about them, basic details.

THE ARGELION LORE!

NEW GOALS: DEMONS!: in the newest posts you will find find suggestions to the origins of our demons. Please vote or suggest ideas.

There very ancient, the pantheon predates mankind, based on a alien planet. They vary in purposes and powers, from physical things like elements to more complex things like wisdom. There ruled by the Divine Council, which are the head gods.

I'm thinking overall many of the worlds are a combination of advanced tech and powerful magic.

Now if a god is killed permanently with a divine weapon the Council will seek out a replacement. But if there killed by other ways the domain in locked in that gods soul, so the Council must wait for reincarnation, at which they'll either bring that god back to the pantheon or transfer the domain to a replacement.

Now when reincarnated there born just like anyone else and may or may not gain access to their past power depending on life experience.

Important Things:
These gods exist in cycles of sorts, so if killed they are reincarnated, only a divine weapon can permanently kill them.
The Divine Council can choose replacements if a god is permanently killed or if the council decides to remove them.
Gods can either be based on the Argelion home planet or have their own planet.

And its first come first serve for domains though feel free to play demigod children if the people playing the gods agree.

Divine Council: the ruling gods. Very op so there off camera NPCS.

Sounds interesting! If there's availability for a character I'll take it!

Ive got this idea for a god whose main gimmick is that he simply wishes to observe. He has great power, but he hardly ever uses it. The powers he has include omniscience, to a degree, he can see all possible paths and choices people can make, but he doesn't know the path they WILL take. He also has the power to grant otherworldly powers to mere mortals, but again he rarely ever indulges this power. The only times he ever grants his power to mortals is when a mortal shows himself to be unpredictable, or in a position to cause great change in his actions. As such, he never grants his power to those whose actions will be predictable, or who won't change anything even with newfound abilities. Even when he does grant his power, he never attempts to control the outcome, seeming to gain joy in merely observing what his champion does with his or her new abilities. His gifts can come in the form of either magical powers, increased physical strength and capabilities, or even just providing information that no-one else (except of course some other gods who specialize in such information).

I also have an idea for a god of sorrow, regret, and despair.

Ok news on the God of Sorrow I had an idea for. Been talking with Saberteck and Strange.
Sorrow (as we will call him till a proper name is found) is a god with a very troubled history, one of poetic tragedy fit for a god of sorrow. In collaboration with Saberteck and Strange, Sorrow was once in love with another god. She was a goddess of the deformed and discarded, beings who were born with hideous or otherwise deformities and whom were banished, or shunned from their respective societies. Sorrow took pitty on this goddess whom for now we will call Deformed and at first merely helped her in her duties but at some point developed a deeper relationship with her and the two fell in love. However, the Goddess of Love (in collab with Strange and whom we will call "Love") had also developed a deep crush for Sorrow, and grew jealous of his feelings for Deformed. In an attempt to seperate the two, Love used her powers to make it impossible for others to love or care for Deformed and her followers. However this backfired in many ways, as Sorrows own followers began to dislike the deformed and prayed for Sorrow to denounce his love for Deformed.

Love's plan backfired again when instead of driving Sorrow away from Deformed, Sorrow grew ever closer to her instead, as he became saddened at the mistreatment of her kind and was quick to stand at her side to help however he could. As her followers suffered more mistreatment than they ever had before, Deformed was reduced to tears as her people suffered for no concievable reason. However, her sorrow soon turned to anger at the treatment of her kind! Eventually she began commanding her followers to commit horrible acts against their tormenters and to retaliate. Deformed grew more and more rebellious to the council, to the point where the council seriously considered removing her from her duties. But once again, against Love's original intentions, Sorrow not only supported his lover, but outright declared himself enemy to all who dared bring harm to her or her followers. Some gods were sent, either by the council or for more personal reasons, to confront and kill Deformed. But they were all turned away by Sorrow, who would protect his love, right or wrong.

But as time went on, Deformed became ever more vengeful in her acts against her enemies, she commanded her followers to torture and murder those of other gods, desecrating shrines and causing chaos. For a time, Sorrow continued to faithfully protect his lover from all comers, his armor becoming scarred with various dents, cracks and scratches, his cloak turning to rags with each battle. He would protect his love no matter what, even if she was wrong. At least, that WAS his mindset, until one fateful day. Deformed's rage filled gaze turned to Sorrows own followers, who never took action with or against their god, merely pleading for their god to turn away from Deformed and come to his senses. Disgusted at what she percieved as treachery from her lovers followers, she commanded her own followers to torture and slaughter any of Sorrow's followers they found who would not support their master and her lover.

Sorrow looked on in grief as the terrible revelation hit him of the horrible acts his love was willing to commit on his own people. It was then that he finally admitted the terrible truth, his Deformed was not well, she was not the same one he had fallen in love with so many years ago. Soon after, Sorrow showed himself before the council, ready to accept the punishment he knew he deserved, but in the end, he would have begged for any other punishment, but the one they gave him. He was ordered, as punishment for his unruly and rebellious behaviour, to strike down the lover he so faithfully supported and protected. With a heavy heart, Sorrow approached Deformed, casting aside his shield for good. When Deformed turned to embrace Sorrow, he stabbed her through the heart with his sword, watching the pure shock and despair in her eyes as her one true love murdered her.

In the present day Sorrow keeps Deformed's world close by as the moon of his own world. He built a memorial site on her moon and buried her there, to this day he visits often. A replacement is being sought by the council to replace the position of God of the Deformed and Discarded, a position Sorrow silently hopes remains empty. Love, meanwhile, does what she can to undo some of the damage caused by her plot, but continues to pursue Sorrow's affection, despite him having yet to truly move on and who is, for the most part, unaware of Loves feelings for him. Wether further plots for his affection will continue to do more harm to him than good is yet to be seen.

Like the idea so far? Edits, additions and ideas are welcome!

Can I do a God of chaos and change? I mean technically it could be bad, but at the same time it COULD be good. As long as the world changes, for better or worse, they are happy. Sometimes plays the villain, sometimes the good guy. No one knows what role they take. Hell even what they look like can change every time they appear.
