[ Duke Mikhainon ]

The halls of the pizzeria were dead silent, thick and heavy with shadows made more eerie with the faint luminescence of the moon that gave the place an eerie glow. Only the flapping of a stray raven's wings could be heard within its wide hallways.

Mikhainon hears all sorts of things in Gomorrah. Gomorrah is one of the hottest clubs in Manta Carlos, so it only followed it was filled with people that were gossip mongers. Mikhainon knew everything there was to know in Manta Carlos, and he knew there was a video going viral on the internet about the local pizzeria.

Two unremarkable teenagers broke into the place at night and were subsequently attacked by supposedly live animatronics. People said it was a hoax but Mikhainon knew better. They said Strings was a hoax too, but she was real and she existed. There was a very real possibility of the viral video being true... which was why he decided to check. The creature would've been able to sense him even before he arrived because of his aura, but that was all right. He always wanted people to expect him. That was part of the fun.

The raven landed a few meters away from the rumored head of the animatronics. When he reached the ground, he shifted back into human form, his feathers flying all over the place.

He felt a lost human soul stirring within the fur suit.

He grinned.

"Creature," he said, addressing the animatronic. "Let's speak civilly. I know you have a mind underneath your shell. I implore you to use it."

Snow was standing in the standard position on her place on the stage, head low and eyes closed. If anyone looked at her they would be able to easily tell that she was deactivated, as she wasn’t needed until the pizzeria’s opening at 8 AM the next day. This night was one of those calm ones for the looks of it. The lazy night guard left right at 11:30 PM and there were no unexpected visitors like the other night…darn, some animatronics had to be pulled to the back room and repaired after she used them to test their abilities and were still stuck there as the employees worked to fix them. The owner of the place was even considering to demand them for all what they did to the pizzeria, simply too stubborn to think that they were actually attacked and didn’t just made everything up to earn views on Youtube. She was surprised to know that the night guard went unpunished even after it was made obvious to the world that he left his spot during said night.

It was then when she felt it, that strange yet somehow intimidating aura. Not wanting to reactivate the animatronic body for something like this, which could be just a guy passing by. A dark mist enveloped the animatronic, soon taking the shape of a female human silhouette with glowing ice-blue eyes half-hidden behind the animatronic, only a small portion of her body peeking to see what was going on.

It was then when she saw the raven flying out of the hallway and towards her and the other animatronics. She just rolled her eyes before allowing her ghost to get inside the animatronic suit. Probably an employee forgot to close a window and the darn bird came in looking for food. But as soon as she was back inside the animatronic suit the bird landed, transforming.

The masculine voice was more than enough. The eyes of the animatronic opened widely on the act, her head lifting and landing on the human with the odd aura in front of her. She just stared at him for a couple of seconds before the mist once more enveloped the suit. A loud deactivating-like sound came from her before her eyes turned black with glowing white pupils, a screech coming out from her mouth as she showed her sharp fangs and claws, jumping towards the man, her lethal intentions clear as crystal. She wasn’t going to let this aura to stop her or intimidate her at all.

Mikhainon sighed and stepped to the side, dodging the attack way too easily and any subsequent attacks. Mikhainon possessed unnatural reflexes for a human. It was almost as if his brain didn't need to process movement. That was because it didn't.

He expected some resistance from lost spirits. After all, their volatile nature was the reason they fascinated Mikhainon so. But convincing them this dance was pointless was difficult.

"You can't defeat me," he said, but not cockily. He stated it as fact. "I'm a demon in a clay shell. You noticed it when I came in, didn't you? My aura isn't like a human's.

"If you kill me now, I'll just transfer my consciousness into sand and live another day. You can kill me again and again and it'll be pointless. So why don't we talk, hmm? I can be a surprisingly helpful ally if you choose to at least listen."

After a couple of dodges Snow decided to just look at the man, fairly annoyed. She knew when an attack was completely futile, usually that kind of attack was the most effective thanks to the default surviving instinct in all living creatures that forced them to react either violently or by running away of a potential predator, but this guy was just shrugging her off, not allowing her to get a single hit. She may wanted him dead, but she wasn’t stupid, she wasn’t going to keep using a technique that had already proven to be useless, she needed a new one.

A demon? Well, that obviously would explain that intimidating aura that surrounded him and tried to make its way inside her wires and servos. She didn’t know if she should believe his resurrecting-like tale, maybe he was just saying that to make her feel more insecure or to lower her guard. In most cases she would go with this option, as it seemed to be the most logical one, but this place had a complete different logic than others, so she couldn’t be sure.

“Wha-a-at do you-ou-ou want?” Her voice was deeper and gltchier than usual, mostly thanks to a mix of her current annoyance and the usual aggressive behavior that she showed at this hours, which heavily collided with the animatronic’s friendly programming. It could be annoying, but she knew better than to just talk to a demon as a ghost outside the animatronic for just that kind of stuff. After all, that would leave her soul completely unprotected and in the open and there was a risk of him taking advantage of that…or at least that’s what she thought, could she be wrong? Better not risk it.

When she stopped, Mikhainon wore a devilish grin.

Good girl.

He was more powerful when people were willing to listen. His powers were unremarkable. His greatest weapon was words.

To keep the suspense going, he didn't answer immediately. Mikhainon made his way to a nearby table among the other animatronics and climbed on top of its wooden surface by pushing his weight up with his hands. He crossed his legs and looked her in the eye.

"I want to talk," he said plainly. "You aren't exactly discrete with your killings. What ails you, creature? Why go on this rampage?"

They might've been questions, but Mikhainon looked like he knew the answer, like he was... testing her. In truth, he hadn't the slightest inkling to what it might be, but he preferred assuming a stance of superiority to the people he talked to.

Snow couldn’t help but have a lot of mixed feelings at the moment, this guy was acting like if he owned the place. He was way too calm and she could almost touch the aura of superiority that surrounded him completely. She let out a small mechanic growl as he started to talk, his words reflecting a lot of power and self-reliance. If this demon was trying to intimidate her in a subtle way it wouldn’t work, but he was indeed starting to get on her nerves.

“Why-y-y do you wa-a-ant to know-ow?” She almost hissed, her eyes landing on the feline-like ones of the man in front of him. Uh, bad choice, she wasn’t sure why, but his eyes alone were a bit more intimidating than the rest of his body and actions. She didn’t looked away though, not willing to show that she was a bit uncomfortable with this, this was one of those moments when she was grateful about having full control over the animatronic, since she wasn’t allowing the threatening expression to change.

She just had to wait until this man lowered his guard enough to attack once more…if he ever dropped his guard while he was around here, of course.

The ghost was posturing, like a snake that wanted to show it wasn't afraid. It knew he was something to be feared... It might be smarter than he originally thought after all.

"Think of me as a friend," he said, in an intimidating, almost non-friendly matter. "I've heard whispers about this place. There lingers a vengeful spirit that slaughters all those that came near, mindless, feral... In other stories, it's a misunderstood one that wants to communicate. I don't know what the truth is. Truth be told, I don't care. But you fascinate me."

He paused.

"So few creatures have the privilege of catching my attention. I offer you this: You tell me what ails you, and I'll help. I have the knowledge of the universe at my disposal. I can help you point your claws to the right direction. Won't you take advantage of that?"

Well, to actually being asking to her to consider him as a friend, he wasn’t acting very friendly, it actually felt like if he was discreetly threatening her. Under common circumstances that would had been more than enough to cut off the conversation and bite his head off, but as much as she wanted to do this, the demon in front of her was proving to be fairly threatening and probably dangerous. This were the situations where she preferred to test the living ones with the other animatronics before attempting to attack herself and land a definitive blow.

But before she could activate the animatronics around her, the offer reached her ears. She stood silent for a couple of seconds, carefully weighting her options. After some thinking she narrowed her eyes a bit “I wa-wa-want revenge on the-e-e one that murdered me-me. If you-ou-ou really ha-a-ave universal knowle-e-edge you’ll be able-ble-ble to tell me where-ere he is” She looked at him, evaluating him, trying to find any kind of nervousness or hesitation that would allow her to know that he was all bark and no bite. If this proved to be the case she would ignore him from then on and attack him until he escaped from her grasp or was killed, not willing to keep hearing lies.

Mikhainon knew jack shit about what happened to her.

But it didn't really show in his posture. He was as smug and as confident as ever.

"How are you so sure it's an individual him, though?" He hopped off the table and started walking around the room. He can feel auras on top of auras in this place, from the original settlers to the eventual pizzeria it became. It was true. Gruesome murders did happen here. But he wasn't privy to the details. What he knew was enough for a lie, though.

"Now, I can't give you exact names without payment, but I can tell you the scene of the crime from what I can tell from these rooms' auras." He raised all five of his fingers. "There were five of them. Four male. One female.

"You worked here as a security guard long ago. These five... they had it out for the old owner. This lot used to be an abandoned building they played in, but along the way, the owner bought it and they lost their favorite place to hang out in. They sneaked in years later for revenge, and found you were the only person standing in their way. They threw your body in the lake to be forgotten."

He moved closer to the window, looking out to the distance and to the full, bright moon overhead. "Those five frequent the Underground these days. Rowdy teenagers growing up as rowdy adults, after all. They're not going to come back to the scene of the crime. It appears you'll have to search for them yourself."

Snow’s eyes followed the demon around as he walked, listening to his words carefully. She was surprised though, she was expecting hesitation, insecurity, at least some sign of him not being sure of what he was saying…he showed none of these. All the other way around, he was so confident and his words were so firm that she couldn’t help but start believing them.

Wait…payment? She wasn’t surprised, if she had any memory of demons retained in her systems is that they never offered their help for free, but she needed those names, she needed to hunt those five guys down and get revenge on them. But without a name she wouldn’t be able to do much “Wha-a-at kind of payme-e-ent?” She almost growled at him, not sure if she really wanted to know the answer.

At some point…she noticed that something was a bit out of place…or at least she hoped that it was out of place. Her body was stuffed inside the suit that she haunted, and some days after that it was taken away from it by the employees of the pizzeria. Her body couldn’t had been thrown to the lake…or was it thrown after it was removed from…no…nononono, it couldn’t be, she refused to believe that. She could feel a mix of panic and rage building inside of her, her only hope after it was taken away was that it had been given a proper burial

“How the-e-e murderer hid-id the evide-e-ence?” Her voice reflected perfectly the panic and the rage, her refusal to believe his words. If he…answered correctly, if he said that her body had been stuffed inside this suit, she would obviously suffer a mental breakdown. If that happened she would only be more convinced of what she had to do and get her revenge no matter what.
