“I’m in the business of trading wishes for souls, my dear. Unless you want to sell everything you have, in this case, your entire consciousness, in the name of vengeance, I’m not going to access the earth’s intelligence network to give you the names and faces you want.”

He tapped his lip, a wide grin forming in his face because of her question. She was ‘testing’ him.

And it was almost too easy.

Souls often formed attachments to places and objects that were related to their murder. Her attachment to the silly looking animatronic was no coincidence. “They hid your body inside the animatronic suit you haunt now. When the rot began to settle days later, they disguised themselves as employees and took it out into the lake with nobody the wiser. Somewhere at the bottom of the lake is your cadaver getting eaten by leeches and bottom feeders. Are you going to stay here and let them get away with that?”

Snow had to grab the edge of the stage to not fall, going completely silent and staring at the ground. The demon did the worst thing he could do, he told her the truth, he knew. Too many emotions started to torment the soul inside the animatronic, not allowing her to focus or even have coherent thoughts. After calming down a bit she looked at the demon in front of her again.

She couldn’t just give away her consciousness, could she? If she did, would she even be able to achieve her revenge on the very first place? Also there was a small problem. She wanted revenge, yes, but that was just a theory of why she couldn’t move on, what if it wasn’t the true reason? What if she got her revenge on them and found out that she gave away her soul to this demon for nothing?

There were a lot of questions, and while one part of her was pushing her towards the demon, wanting to get the revenge more than even regardless of the price or the risks, the other part of her was holding her back, throwing a lot of ideas of terrible bad endings on her head if she acceded.

“Four males, one female…all of them usually go to the underground” It had been 35 years since she was murdered. The one that killed her was a young adult or older, what meant that he had to be at least around his 50 by now…unless the one that killed her wasn’t human…darn it, too little clues, she needed those names, she needed that info but she wasn’t sure if she should make a deal with this demon. Where was the jack in the box, here? She let out a small mechanic whimper, not knowing what to do.

The animatronic was considering something.

And he knew exactly what it was.

"Four males, one female, all of them usually go to the Underground," he repeated, walking over to her and wrapping an arm around her shoulders in a mock comforting image. He pulled a business card from an inner pocket inside his blazer, showing it to her. It had his symbol and a seemingly normal phone number. She could choose to call him or draw his symbol anywhere to summon him herself. Whatever she wanted. "You can hunt for them yourself, bring them to justice and avenge yourself..."

He smirked.

"Or you can ask me for help."

He jumped off the stage, walking backwards and never breaking eye contact.

"Bear in mind my help doesn't come cheap."

He turned around and shifted back into a raven, flying out of the Pizzeria.

One thing's for sure.

Something was going to happen after tonight.
