Not going to be ordinary.
Name: Niles 'Nilesy' Felis
Race/Species: Human Warlock
Age: 21
Birthday: October 31
Gender: Cis male, doesn't care about pronouns or terms used to refer to him.
Orientations: Doesn't label sexuality, doesn't think too deeply on it. Has a tendency to get ridiculous crushes and chatter about them, often over-glorifying things and then quickly getting bored.
Category: Student, Public Annoyance, Dark Lord Wannabe, NPC
Class: College, mainly studying dark magic and any side branches of the subject, wants a doctorate in the subject some day.
Appearance Description:

Nilesy wears whatever he wants, when he wants it. Usually, this happens to be either stereotypical dark wizard garb- or cute, very feminine dresses and outfits. He likes flowy clothes, what else can he say?
Nilesy is just slightly on the shorter side, at five feet six inches tall. Which is often added to with the very tall best friend he's often seen next to. However, Nilesy usually makes up for that with flair. The guy loves to stand out. He'll usually try to take up a little more space with actions, stance, etc- all very unapologetically. He goes to the extra effort, and wants to be seen.
Nilesy has a rounder face, a snub nose- and down turned, poison green eyes. Sometimes he wears some very light makeup, but usually it just feels too sludgy on his face, so he skips it. There are spells for that. Nilesy's hair is thick, a mix of waves and curls, goes down to his waist, and is a shiny black- he likes to wear it in various ways depending on mood. Casually, he favors a side ponytail a lot. For working, more tied in the back. It hides his ears. He has thin eyebrows, and some facial hair.
Nilesy is pretty average weight wise, not too slim or heavy. His body in general is pretty average, except for the smattering of weird scars caused by his experimentation with black magic. He got most of them when he was a teenager and mostly figuring things out for himself- but he still manages to add to the collection as an adult. Nilesy has very light skin.
Personality Description:
Nilesy wants, more than anything else, to be special. And although he'll go out of his way to make it seem effortless, he works his ass off near constantly. Nilesy is narcissistic, and feels like the whole world owes him success and fame, but insecure in the same breath, feeling that if he doesn't reach all the goals he sets himself he'll be worthless. Just as worthless as everyone else. Ordinary. This need of Nilesy's is the driving force behind everything else in his life.
There's something quiet and bitter in him, angry at those who simply have their powers, because he pushed and pushed until he earned what he has. It wasn't easy and never will be, and he didn't manage it the first time he tried, just a kid trying to be special like his best friend had been born as. And oh, he could never hate Milo. Never. Milo had gone through enough to earn what he had, twice over. But Nilesy still envied him. He envied a lot. Special people weren't supposed to envy.
Past that, Nilesy is someone who says and does what he wants as much as possible- and really, has almost an intensified persona that he hides things behind. He's dramatic, and inserts himself into things whenever possible, and is, well, rather obnoxious. Attention is attention, good or bad. Overconfidence and drama are things Nilesy likes to play with.
Nilesy has a serious studious side to him. He's extremely passionate about dark magic and all things related to it, always ready to learn more, and an overachiever. In this area, he doesn't give himself enough credit. In his mind, he thinks of himself as special and deserving of things, but in his mind he should also already be the best- or fake being it/knowing more than he does. But his ability to focus, and put in effort, is a power of its own. Just a person power, but a power. The fact that he clawed his way into all of this, rather than being born into it, should be given way more credit than he gives it- but his bitterness clouds his thoughts there.
Nilesy is intensely stubborn, a perfectionist, and a workaholic.
Nilesy makes for a surprisingly loyal friend. The kind you bury bodies with.
Species traits/Powers:
Not going to be ordinary
Nilesy has all the fierce determination of a human with something to prove, a very underrated but surprisingly dangerous thing.
Dark arts affinity
Self explanatory. Nilesy's put an intense amount of time into this stuff, another underestimated talent. And if Nilesy has anything, it's willpower- will can be a big deal in magical pursuits. He's also smitten with the whole thing, putting his whole heart and soul into the practice. It's his life. He's got the mental intensity and effort needed in the area down.
What Nilesy can do without much preparation, aka what he taught himself as a teenager very early on, is just basic small usage of energy he can will up from his hands. His go to thing is fire and pure dark energy bursts. Usually he can just let these things swirl around his hands, and throw small bits of them with a little more effort. These are small things, usually to play around with.
After he got down that basic magic ability, he was able to move on to learning more specific spells and mindsets that made it easier to cast them. Most of what he does is spell based, some memorized, some that he has to read out from spellbooks. He has a collection of notebooks he likes to jot things down on, and that are rather precious to him. He writes down his own experiments and progress there as well. It's rather messy and confusing looking for people that aren't Nilesy, as sometimes his thoughts just jump all over, and he just writes all of it down.
Nilesy has to study for the majority of what he does, and it's all an individual process to work through.
Magic Types (that nilesy studies, and sometimes practices)
Extra note: Nilesy isn't a fighter, he puts a lot of work into his spells and magic, he's thorough and a perfectionist. He does what he does more out of fascination than to get some other goal done. Repeat, he's not a fighter with these things, it's for long term purposes and education.
Necromancy: He enjoys this school of dark magic a great deal. He's decent at it, could be better- mostly for study.
Monster/Demon summoning: Another enjoyed pursuit, as he can observe or speak with what he calls. He's good at this. Strong area, but takes extra time to be that.
Mental manipulation/corruption: Something he finds interesting and studies, but not something he practices as much, seeing it's frowned upon. Includes memory alteration and removal. Study only, but perhaps not for forever.
Possession: Another thing Nilesy studies, but doesn't use in any way. Covers both full body stealing, and temporarily controlling others from a distance. Study only.
Blood magic: Also see magic powered by one's own or someone else's life force. Study only, Nilesy likes this a lot, especially interested in blood magic that uses one's own life force and the reasons individuals might go that far. Study only, but perhaps not for forever.
Dark magic in culture/history: The changing and unchanging views on dark magic, how it influenced people/the psychology of it, different religions and cults based around it, facts and theories, etc. Study only, clearly.
Voodoo: Side study, not something Nilesy is as experienced with yet. Study only.
Curses/rituals: Stronger for Nilesy in both knowledge and practice, these things can be simpler and more fun in some ways, and don't always have to be practiced with people. (More complicated rituals can get intense and be infamous in the dark magic community/history. Effects should fit into other categories.) Rituals can sometimes cross over with summoning. Rituals can be for offering up something and earning the 'blessing' of an evil spirit, to enhance your abilities or something similar, or crossing over with curses to bring about things as bad as plagues, or simply minor bad luck. Rituals are similar to curses but often add a lot of work, steps, ingredients/offerings, even more reading from some ancient language, or being assisted from an outside power source. Rituals require a lot of work, curses a lot of vengeful intent. Note that intenser rituals take a lot of time. Strong area.
Nastier potions: Another very fun thing, especially for Nilesy who's so detail oriented, that he's decent at in theory and practice. He really enjoys potions. (Potion abilities will usually fit into the other categories, complex potions might be able to do extra things and take a lot more work, and an additional area is things like glamours, permanent appearance change, and poisons.) Strong area.
Darker creatures: Similar to dark magic in culture/history category, sometimes leans into being a lesser study, but still necessary. General knowledge of darker creatures. Includes old gods. Study only.

Nilesy was born to a household with a lot of kids, and even more coming. He didn't like it at all, and spent a lot of time trying to either compete for attention or find time to be alone.
He both pulled outrageous stunts to get eyes on him, and hid away to make quiet efforts to improve. As he grew older, he grew more irritated with his family and others around him. Mostly those who just didn't seem to care. He cared so very much, over analyzing social interactions and trying to be the best he could in school, deeply afraid of ending up amounting to nothing and just dying like that. Even so young, he was afraid of an end, and of a lack of meaning. He spent a lot of moments like they could be his last, like they were more important than they were.
He mellowed out as he grew older, or perhaps learned to fake it, and met Milo Constantin as a teenager- his now best friend for life. Nilesy went out of his way to befriend Milo, as although Milo seemed intensely antisocial, there was an intensity in him as a person and the interactions the two had. Milo really looked at him, in a way others didn't. And there was something in them that was similar, Nilesy could practically feel it. A great understanding that could be nurtured.
When Milo trusted Nilesy enough, he told him that he wasn't normal. Told him about the rats. Nilesy was thrilled, and wanted to be just like Milo. So he tried, a whole damn lot, to follow through on that want. He fully committed.
While he dug up a lot of things related to the fantastical, something in Nilesy was drawn to the darker things in particular. He spent a lot of his teen years experimenting, and at some point was even good enough to help Milo out with a problem of his.
Eventually, when Milo turned eighteen, Nilesy lived up to the 'friend you can bury bodies with' thing and did just that, helping get rid of Milo's abusive mother. After that, as two legal adults, they went travelling and learned a lot more about everything out of the ordinary. They learned of and were invited to SA, but waited until they were twenty and satisfied with their taste of freedom and lack of schoolwork before officially going.
Additional Information:
When he isn't studying, practicing, experimenting, or around Milo, Nilesy likes to use over the top fiction for entertainment. That, and pointless crushes.
Nilesy has darker leaning morals, and often just doesn't have time to waste being sympathetic towards certain things.
Nilesy is in it to win.
