Half a sigh and half a laugh escaped Adelene at Leon's reassurance that the people weren't going to push it. She felt something weird when he said he's brought other people... other girls here, but she told herself it wasn't anything she should be concerned about, because Leon was simply a really sweet and friendly guy. Of course he had other friends. Meanwhile, she's been nothing but a snob until a couple weeks ago.
She was, however, feeling a little... unsettled. Leon was so kind, she can't help but want to be around him often, and Leon would willingly keep her company all the time. She found it to be a special kindness, but to him, it was but a normal thing to do around other people. Maybe she was disappointed somehow.
She was eyeing the pastries behind the counter, until she caught him in her sight already grabbing some cream puffs for her.
"Thanks, Leon."
She took the paper plate and grabbed some paper napkins. Her attention was caught even more when Leon mentioned the spicy loaf. While she liked chocolate, Leon knew she loved spicy food. Too bad they didn't have it right now. Well, brownies were really good, too, no regrets.
"Those brownies look good... Actually everything looks good," she chuckled. "You won't mind if I come back next time, will you? And by that, I mean more as a customer than 'just a friend coming over'. I'd want to taste that spicy loaf next time."
She looked around the shop for a moment, wondering if it would be better if they stay by the counter, but she figured maybe less people would notice them if they were somewhere else. "Uh... The back sounds good." She shot him a shy uncertain smile. While she was used to stares despite being embarrassed about them usually, things felt different when she was with Leon. At times like this, she couldn't seem to tolerate them too well. Maybe it was Leon that made her feel embarrassed after all? In any case, she wanted less possible eyes to see her.
