Half a sigh and half a laugh escaped Adelene at Leon's reassurance that the people weren't going to push it. She felt something weird when he said he's brought other people... other girls here, but she told herself it wasn't anything she should be concerned about, because Leon was simply a really sweet and friendly guy. Of course he had other friends. Meanwhile, she's been nothing but a snob until a couple weeks ago.

She was, however, feeling a little... unsettled. Leon was so kind, she can't help but want to be around him often, and Leon would willingly keep her company all the time. She found it to be a special kindness, but to him, it was but a normal thing to do around other people. Maybe she was disappointed somehow.

She was eyeing the pastries behind the counter, until she caught him in her sight already grabbing some cream puffs for her.

"Thanks, Leon."

She took the paper plate and grabbed some paper napkins. Her attention was caught even more when Leon mentioned the spicy loaf. While she liked chocolate, Leon knew she loved spicy food. Too bad they didn't have it right now. Well, brownies were really good, too, no regrets.

"Those brownies look good... Actually everything looks good," she chuckled. "You won't mind if I come back next time, will you? And by that, I mean more as a customer than 'just a friend coming over'. I'd want to taste that spicy loaf next time."

She looked around the shop for a moment, wondering if it would be better if they stay by the counter, but she figured maybe less people would notice them if they were somewhere else. "Uh... The back sounds good." She shot him a shy uncertain smile. While she was used to stares despite being embarrassed about them usually, things felt different when she was with Leon. At times like this, she couldn't seem to tolerate them too well. Maybe it was Leon that made her feel embarrassed after all? In any case, she wanted less possible eyes to see her.

"You can still be both! Nothing wrong with just dropping by to say 'Hello' and grabbing yourself a snack. Just have to remind me a head of time so I can get that spicy bread going. We hand make all our bread so it would take a while to make."

For a change Leon decided it would be a little fun to be the one dragging Adelene around. Leon gentle slipped his arm back around her's and led her to the back. Then a whistle he was expecting emitting from his mother just to tease them both. What surprised her is that Leon actually sped up his pace and hurried the pair into the back. Wasn't his normal attitude towards such a thing so all Robin could do was smirk before returning to talking with her guests.

Passing through the door the kitchen looked rather normal compared to what one might expect from a bakery. There was a sign above a nearby door that said "Home" with a flowery design on it off to the right. In the middle of the kitchen sat a rather large table with mixing bowls, spoons, and other utensils hanging over it with a smaller table next to the "Home" door with four chairs gathered around it. Compared to the larger table, it was a rather plain wooden table with just a flower pot in the middle with a few red roses sticking out. Upon further inspecting one would notice they were actual roses and not decoration. Leon led Adelene to the table and let go of her arm for a moment to pull out a chair for her before pulling out one for himself. Snapping his fingers Leon walked over to a pair of fridges, one black and one white. Opening the white one Leon grabs out a plastic container that was full of fruit and walked back over to the table and took a seat. Inside the contain were pieces of watermelon, apple slices, orange slices, and grapes.

"Sorry if they were bothering you. They normally aren't like that. Though I think what gave them the idea to do so is the fact I jumped over the counter to see you. Have to admit it does leave one to wonder what kind of friend you are. Most people who come by I rarely leave the counter for till they walk in."

Leon picked up one of the orange slices and dropped it into his mouth and began to chew it before looking from his bowl to all of the pastries he gave Adelene. Maybe he should have grabbed more brownies. Oh well he had fruit.

"So anything fun lately? Oh right you want something to drink? Got milk, juice, some soda, and regular ole water. And please make yourself at home. You're as welcome here as you are in your own place."

Leon just seemed to do nothing but stare at Adelene and smile with a very cheery voice. He was glad it was her own idea to come here and say hi without as much as Leon having to ask her to come out today. Well he did ask her to come by at some point but that was different. Compared to a lot of others he brought by he genuinely enjoyed Adelene's company. He was confused by this himself but something about her made him just feel right at home.

The way Adelene looked around inside the 'home area' of the place wasn't as ordinary as mere genuine curiosity taking over. She hasn't come over anyone else's house before, and seeing Leon's home thrilled her. So this is how a proper home looks like, was mostly the thought stuck in her head. Again, she felt jealous. There was such a warm atmosphere here, and she hasn't experienced that for years. It's been so long, she almost can't remember anymore how it was like. She can't even remember her adoptive parents' faces anymore, and she had no idea what her biological family was like.

Adelene went close to the roses to get a good look, before taking a seat on the one Leon pulled for her, and she put down her plate as she said her thank you. She watched when Leon took a container full of sliced fruits. Which reminded her, she hasn't been eating fruits recently.

And then Leon apologized, but Addy quickly waved a hand in front of her and shook her head. Honestly, that time, she hadn't really noticed. But she felt her face heat up when her mind started forming thoughts such as Leon treating her differently than others. It made her heart skip and her stomach turn in an odd manner. "It's okay, really. I was... I was so absorbed looking around anyway," she giggled. "I'm glad you went to me a while ago though. I was really hesitant to come here inside 'cause... I dunno, I was nervous."

She lowered her head and quickly averted her eyes and grabbed a brownie, munching on it immediately and taking small bites. Not for long, though. Suddenly, she stared at the brownie, before glancing up at Leon with slightly wider and seemingly sparkly eyes. "Leon this is amazing! It's really good! Oh, and milk sounds nice for this. God, this is perfect!"

She took another bite, a larger one, and made sure to chew it carefully before swallowing. She beamed at Leon.

"Speaking of my own place, I decided I'd move out of the dorm. I already have a place to move to, so I'll be moving next week. I came here to let you know, too. 'Cause you should definitely drop by some time. Also... I was wondering if you can help me move out... I mean, well... I don't have anyone else to ask. I met a new friend but... I'm not that comfortable around him yet."

Leon just smiled and chuckled a bit at Adelene. She was that nervous huh? Well it was alright. She wasn't used to doing such things so it was really understandable. With how much she was opening up lately Leon felt like maybe this is what she needed. A person like him to help her out.

"No need to be nervous around me or my family. You're one of my closest friends. Means you could walk on it and start calling my parents Mom and Dad and they'd treat you like their daughter. Well I think Mom might actually start doing that considering the way I went to see you. Not necessarily bad mind you. You're fun to be around."

Leon got back up and went over to the cabinets and began going through them seemingly forgetting where the glasses were. It may be his house but there were those times he forgot which cabinet held what. After finding the glasses he walks back over to the fridge and opens it up quickly grabbing the milk and grabbing out a bottle of water for himself. After pouring the glass of milk for Adelene and putting it back in the fridge Leon walks back to the table and sets the glass down before taking his seat again, scooping up another orange slice.

"Glad you like it. Mom made all the fun pastries this morning. I did most of the breaded stuff out there like, well, loafs of bread, muffins, and the like. I'll have to put together a gift basket before you leave later so you can take some with you."

When Adelene mentioned about moving to her own apartment, jealously almost shown in his eyes. Sure he could come and go as he wanted and do what he wanted, but he still was living at home. Guess it was mostly the whole "I want to be out on my own thing" like most people his age. At the mention of helping out Leon just pointed his thumb at himself and winked at her.

"Only need to say the word and I'll be there! It'll be fun! I can even get Dad to drive his truck and trailer over so we don't have to rent a moving vehicle. That way all we have to do is make sure to pack everything and get it all brought out! And of course I'll visit you. It'd take the end of the world for me not to keep that promise."

As Leon spoke a door opened with "Garage" labeled over it as a man walked into the kitchen seemingly unaware of Leon and Adelene being there. He went to the fridge and pulled out a can of Pepsi, opened it, and moved his wielding mask up and took a drink before turning and noticing the pair. A simple wave as he set the can down and removed the mask completely. The man looked almost exactly like Leon expect for some facial hair and an older looking face structure.

"Huh? Oh hey Leon. Whose your friend?"

"This is Adelene. Adelene, meet my Dad."

Leon looked a little embarrassed to be seen alone like this with Adelene. Befgore he could speak up his father let out a small chuckle. Compared to his Mom, Leon's father seemed more relaxed and the same type of attitude and tone in his voice could be seen where Leon got his own. Jason looked at Adelene and then saw the brownies before smiling a bit.

"Letting her try some of your mother's cooking? Might have to go steal some after I clean up. Oh sorry. Name's Jason, Leon's father. I'd shake your hand but I think it's greasy. On second thought I should get back to the garage before my wife walks back here and yells at me for making a mess of her kitchen. Well you two have fun."

As quick as he came into the room Jason went back into the garage to go back to whatever work he was doing prior. After he walked out Leon just looked at Adelene and scratched the back of his head as his face grew a slight bright red. Adelene wasn't alone in being embarrassed by this.

Adelene felt something heavy form in her chest when Leon said she can call his parents Mom and Dad. A side of her was glad about it, and she wanted to try it at least once, but another side was suddenly taken over by sorrow, because she couldn't remember her own parents, and her adoptive parents were dead. Remembering them saddened her, but it was almost unnoticeable because she kept her smile despite her eyes going paler.

"Leon, I don't even know them that much yet," she said, letting out a soft and awkward laugh. "The thought sounds wonderful though... But I gotta admit... I miss my own."

She munched on her brownie and took a sip from the cold milk, which, as she thought, was perfect with the chocolate pastries. Light and cheerfulness came back to her eyes when Leon said he'd help her move. "You'll do it? Oh Leon, thank you!" She showed him the brightest of smiles, she wanted to show him how much she appreciated this. "The unit is studio type, and it probably won't be too spacious, but after we move my things, I'll cook lunch for us and we can eat together again! Ah, I'm not as good a cook as you though."

She giggled softly. She was obviously starting to loosen up and relax, but then the door to the garage opened and she flinched and tensed up again when Leon's father came in. It wasn't so hard to guess who he was, they looked almost exactly like each other. She didn't even realize she was staring, because, well, who wouldn't if they just saw their friend's older version?

"Um... Good day, Mr. Norama," she smiled at him in hopes that he wouldn't dislike her. He was just like Leon, even in voices, which kept her awestruck and amazed. She was starting to imagine what Leon himself would be like in the future...

And Jason was gone. Adelene cleared her throat, because that's what she does when the air gets awkward, and she smiled at Leon again.

"Has anybody ever told you that your dad is cool? Also, I see you really did take from him! I bet you'll look like that, too when you're older, huh? Oh your wife would be so lucky!"

She chuckled, before taking a cream puff. She bit it very carefully, but some of the cream inside still oozed out and smeared on her lips. She panicked for a moment, putting the rest of the cream puff down and taking a paper napkin to immediately wipe her lips. "Mmn... Sorry, I'm making a mess..."

If there was a talent Leon had, it was noticing the tiny details about a person. Despite her smile something was clearly bothering Adelene. Ahh. That's what was. She was thinking about her own family that she didn't have anymore. Without even giving it so much a thought Leon stood up from his chair and gave Adelene a quick hug by wrapping his arm around her shoulders and pulling her close. He held her there for a minute before letting go and returning to his seat. The hug said enough.

"I get to try your cooking? Can't wait! Doesn't matter how good a person is at cook. Eating with friends is always the best and the taste always seems to be five star!"

Leon was doing his best to boost her confidence. He had years of practice and a professional cook to learn from. He wasn't lying either Adelene could serve them mac and cheese and Leon would sit there and eat it like ti was the best thing on earth. After watching how Adelene had reacted to his parent's being around he could tell she was just really nervous. Well, it was weird for him to be sitting here. Alone. With a girl in his home. Was weird for Leon too but right now Adelene was a great friend so he didn't mind much.

"Dad? Well I do get that a lot. I know I'm a spitting image of Dad when he was younger besides the fact my hair is darker. You really think so though? I think I'll end up like him too. Finding someone he truly cared enough about to both marry and pledge himself to. It scares some people when they seem him and me in the same room with how identical we look. The looks are priceless! Got Dad's looks and Mom's smarts. And Dad's pretty smart too."

As Adelene bit the cream puff and the cream oozed out Leon looked at her and his face almost went completely red. It was....Well he had seen enough TV and Movies to get ideas. As she wiped her lips with a napkin Leon just laughed.

"No need to apologize! Reason why Dad would get in trouble is he'd be tracking grease and who knows what around. A tiny mess from a cream puff? A paper towel and a wet rag would clean it up real quick. Umm...I have to admit you did look pretty cute with the way you looked with it on your lips and suddenly wiping it away."

Without even realizing what he had said, Leon had started flirting with Adelene again. It just came out sometimes and he was unaware of how it could be taken till he saw reactions. To him it was just someone enjoying his mother's cooking and that brought a smile to his face.

"Sorry if that uhh, embarrassed you again. I can't help but say what's on my mind. You're pretty cute and adorable when you do things like that and think you've done something wrong or in this case making a mess. Least we can say this though. You're enjoying Mom's cooking."

While smiling and looking at Adelene, Leon had picked up the salt shaker from the table and threw it at the door they entered the kitchen from. Upon hitting the door whispers and a the movement of feet on the other side quickly moving away could be heard. Leon didn't even look at the door during any of it and only gritted his teeth as his face turned red more.

"God damn it Mom."

It happened too fast and too slow, it didn't sink into Adelene immediately that Leon pulled her to a hug. She was sad she didn't have her parents anymore, not sad enough to cry about it, but sad enough to welcome Leon's hug and let it comfort her.

She smiled at him after that, muttering "Thank you."

But her demeanor changed completely when Leon said that c word again, and on such a strange context. She unconsciously glared at him, even though her cheeks were too red not to notice. Leon was right, she was really embarrassed.

"Y-You don't have to say it th-that way, geez..." She looked away and covered her lower face with another paper napkin. She wanted to put the glass of cold milk on her face, but that was too weird and she was too embarrassed to do weird things.

"I'm not really cute, you could just... you could just say I'm funny when I mess up... yeah, that's probably it..." She bit her lip for a moment, before trying to calm down and putting her hands down to the table. "Well--"

She flinched when Leon threw the salt shaker to the door, blinking at Leon before she turned her head to see why he did that... People were eavesdropping...? She tilted her head, confused, and turned to Leon again.

"Leon, you okay? What's up with that and your mom..?"

"Sorry. You know I can't help myself and give compliments when I see fit. And with such a reaction I know that you enjoy them. Guess now I'll just have to save them and pull them out at the right time. Can't let you get too used to it or else it won't have the same effect."

Which was true. Getting told you were cute, strong, handsome, or anything similar all the time the effect tended to disappear and it was just an empty thing. Especially being told all the time by the same person. So for now Leon decided to only give the good compliments when they were the right time.

"Funny huh? Well it was funny how quickly you went to clean yourself up from something so small. Honestly I would have just licked the cream off my lips. Actually I think I like that about you. Some girls have actually waited and thought I would kiss them because of a mess on their lips before. Don't understand why."

Leon saw the confused look on Adelene's face at him throwing the salt shaker at the door. Well, Leon wasn't exactly used to his parents eavesdropping on him or even taking an interest with the people he hung out with. Well, his mother was quite the gossiper. And what mother wouldn't want to know why his son was so friendly and excited to see a girl?

"This is her form of teasing me. See, I've never actually had any female friends past the store. You're the first I brought back here. Bring some of my guy friends sure. I think she's just wondering why you're so special to me or why I'm acting like such with you here. Can't explain it myself but I am really happy whenever I get to hang out with you."

If Leon was anymore sincere in his tone, you'd think he was trying to put on an act for someone on the other side of the door. He was just genuinely excited and happy when Adelene was around. Maybe it was because they were so similar that it was just that easy to get along with her.

A soft and almost inaudible sigh escaped Adelene's lips, and she shook her head slightly. But she was smiling, and then she muttered "Can't be helped," before finally finishing that cream puff. She was still embarrassed about being called adorable, but Leon explaining himself just made things slightly funnier. "Does that mean you're used to being called handsome?" she asked in attempt to tease him.

The story about girls waiting to be kissed only made her laugh more. She covered her mouth as her giggles escaped her uncontrollably, she even curled up a little when she started having a hard time to breathe. "W-Wow... seriously..? Ha... Haha... I think those girls... They're... pfft..." Pathetic was the word. She wasn't going to say it, but she hated girls like that. They're a laughing matter to her, but at the same time, they're the type of people she'd love to shoot bullets at.

She calmed down enough, her laugh toned down to a grin as she wiped her eyes with the ball of her right palm. She looked Leon in the eye, leaned over the table, and put on a serious face. "Leon, you have to understand," she said, "You're a good-looking guy, so girls won't have a hard time liking you, actually they'll have a harder time not noticing you." And then she snickered, reaching to pat his shoulder. "Be careful, some girls won't even wait. There are temptresses out there and they're evil." And then she let go and leaned back, and put on another gentle smile. "Don't worry though, I'm not that kind of girl. I'm glad you think I'm kinda special, but maybe that's just 'cause I'm a little boyish myself and I don't flirt around like other girls. When I say I like you, it's because you're a really likeable person, and we're so similar, I can't help but feel comfortable."

"Depends on the person and the tone. I can tell when it's just a normal compliment, but also when it's a genuine compliment. Like when I call you adorable, I mean it."

Leon looked at Adelene as she tried to hide her laughter. Leon took a moment to think as he started eating an apple slice and then realized how sad it was that some girls did that. Well good thing Leon never did anything like that. No point in kissing unless its family or serious.

"You'd be surprised how many girls have 'accidentally' showed too much skin just to get my attention or tempt me. If you can't do it with your personality and have to, well, cheat then they shouldn't try. I'm a guy yes, but I have some standards. Not going to let some girl showing her cleavage think she can capture my sole attention," air quotes completed the accident part.

With the rant from Adelene about different types of girls, Leon just nodded and let her say what she wanted. Truth be told Leon knew what his looks do sometimes and the amount of dates and such he got asked on. He just was too nice to say no most of the time expect for certain things. Leon smiled wider as Adelene said what she did about their friendship.

"I agree to that. I feel, well, comfortable around you. We're hanging out not because it's a guy and girl, but as two friends who enjoy each other's company and get along. Having similar interests helps too.
