Adelene had a good amount of free time for the week. She knew she's done well in school so there was no need for extra studying today, she didn't have work either, and she's met her quota for the week's training and she wanted to rest.

Just a few weeks ago, such a good day didn't exist in her life. Because such a day was so boring when one's always alone, and so she tended to overwork herself. Today though, she wanted to spend more time with Leon, and specifically Leon because he was such a sweet friend and she wanted to get to know him more. They've only known each other a couple of weeks, after all.

She was uncertain whether visiting their shop was a good or a bad idea, but she was already on her way, carrying nothing big with her. She had her usual clothes on, a black t-shirt and a pair of white jeans, her sneakers, and the white goggles from Leon on her head. And her money and new phone in her pockets.

She wanted to drop by mostly because she was curious what it was like in the Norama shop. It wasn't so hard to find, thanks to Leon who gave her the address. She was there in no time, entering the repair shop with a rather stealthy lack of presence, having trained herself before to be like that when she didn't want herself to be noticed. She was using her skill because she was new to the place, nothing more.

She stood near the door, wondering who was around.

"Leon how are the buns coming along?"

"About another minute."

"How about your Dad?"

"Already got took him some food."

Leon was helping out his parents for the day. His mother had all but chained him to the store and prevented him from leaving because she needed his help for the day. Still he did his work with a smile. Leon walked out of the kitchen in the back wearing an apron with the shop's logo on it, two black oven mitts, and a white shirt and blue jeans underneath, a pair of orange goggles covering his eyes.

It had been a while but he had other reasons wanting to head out. He didn't want to just run out and jog, but he wanted to check up on Adelene and see how she was doing. Removing the oven mitts and hanging them up on the wall, Leon walks over to the counter and takes a look at the store. Customers were enjoying the baked goods, watching the TV up on the wall, talking among themselves.

Leon's gaze stopped on the front door and his smile grew wide. He didn't even think twice as he leaped over the counter and ran right to the door.....And right into it. It was pull from the inside and Leon had a momentary lapse of judgement. Rubbing his face he walks pulls the door and walks out immediately giving Adelene a pat on the shoulders.

"Oh hey! What's up Adelene! Man you coulda cal-Oh right sorry. Forgot for a moment."

"Leon what the hell! Why did you jump ov- Oh hello. Whose this? Friend of yours?"

Out from the door popped the the head of a a red headed woman with blue eyes matching Leon's and a grin forming on her face similar to the one Leon would get. Expect this grin looked more....Playful.

"Or is she something you've been keeping from your father and I, I wonder?"

"Mom!"

Leon turned around only to receive a look of innocence from his mother. She just winked at him, "So what's your name? And how did my son come across you? Not another one of those stupid girls with nothing up top are you?"

"Mom!"

Leon was embaressed, but in a good way. He let out his nervous laugh while scratching the back of his head and moving to the side to have both view of his mother and Adelene.

Adelene frozen in place seeing Leon appear from nowhere and attack her with a pat on the shoulder. A little shocked, she stared at him with wide eyes, before calming down and putting a soft smile on her face.

She was glad it was Leon who saw her first. Because if it were someone else, she wouldn't have known what to say or do. She might even just storm out of the place. But she was glad it wasn't like that.

"I'm sorry I didn't call first. I'm not friends with my new phone... Were you busy?"

A redheaded woman peeked through the door, startling Adelene and making her jump a little with a gasp. She blinked at her, before turning to Leon, and back.

She was teasing Leon. Adelene felt her face burn because... she didn't expect her to be his mom. She was beautiful, though she should've expected that because Leon was a good-looking son.

"Oh, g-good day to you! I... I'm Leon's friend... My name's Adelene... Um..." She realized she had no idea how to act in this kind of situation. What do people usually do when they meet their friend's parent? She's never tried being in such a situation before. And she had no idea how to address Leon's mom.

"A friend you say? Leon is this that girl you made those goggles and that sword for? Ahh I would notice your craftsmanship anywhere. Those goggles look oh so adorable on you Adelene. "

"Mom! Come on!"

"Alright, alright. Well Adelene, I'm Leon's Mom. You can call me Robin if you'd like or Mrs. Norama. Whichever you prefer. Behave now you two."

Robin disappears back inside with a giggle and a wink as Leon glared at the door before turning to Adelene. He let out another nervous laugh and tried to brush off everything that just happened.

"And they wonder why I don't bring many people around here. Sorry if that was weird for you Adelene. Mom is...Weird sometimes. Well now to restart before she decided to embarrass both of us. So you're having phone problems? I can try to help. Have to keep up so I know a little here and there. I'm free now anyway, thanks to you. So, how've you been?"

Leon crossed his arms over his chest while looking at Adelene with his smile, which was strangely bigger then normal. He loved it when people came by and he could get a break and off work. But he didn't know how the little teasing would make Adelene feel. He sure as hell felt awkward and a little flustered by it all.

Adelene was indeed feeling embarrassed, seeing Leon get teased by his mom, and getting involved herself too. She was mostly flattered when the gifts were brought up and when Leon's mom said she was adorable. Normally she was going to reject that and deny it but she didn't want to sound rude, and so she smiled sheepishly and offered a small single nod.

"Thank you, Mrs. Norama..."

She caught her wink. She blinked, wondering what that one was for, and gave Leon a curious and confused look. He laughed normally, and she tilted her head at him.

"Your mom's beautiful, Leon." It seemed easy enough for her to ease up though. The pinkness on her cheeks didn't go away, but she seemed at ease enough. She was smiling brighter too. "She sounds fun, actually. I can see where you got your fun side!" She giggled, reaching up to pat Leon on the head.

When Leon asked about her phone, she brought it out of her pocket and showed it to him. She bought a black touchscreen phone that fit just perfectly in her hand. "Yeah... I just bought it. I'm still trying to figure it out... It's not really similar to a computer, is it? I'm more used to using my laptop, this is uh... small." She didn't mind if Leon would want to check on it, so she held it out to him.

"Are you sure it's okay to bother you though?" On that part, she felt a little guilty. She saw that the shop was pretty busy, and she did disturb them. Mrs. Norama didn't seem to mind, Leon seemed okay, but she couldn't help to feel that way. "I'm sorry... I just um... really wanted to visit."

"You think so? Well aside from the hair I do tend to get told I look more like Mom over Dad. Got the hair color and style from him. And thanks! But to be fair both my parents are rather playful like that. How I grew up the way I am."

Leon sounded extremely proud of his parents. And he was. He couldn't have asked for a better way to be brought up in a house of laughter. Leon had to admit though his Mom got away with a lot more then his Dad and it scared him. He really hoped Adelene wouldn't see just how playful his Mom could get. That would be bad. Or good. He didn't know.

As Adelene got out her phone Leon noted it was a normal smartphone. He was used to using one and was a little surprised when Adelene mentioned that she was was having trouble with it, sounding almost like she thought of it more like a small computer. Well, it was and wasn't true on that part anyway.

"Alright I can show you what you want to know. Really it is kind of like having a tiny laptop in your hand with a touch screen instead of a keyboard. Just takes some getting used to. Here how about I do....This!"

Leon had taken the phone from Adelene's hand and pointed the screen so she could see it while he went into her contact list, tapped on New Contact, and put in his own number. He had stopped for a moment before his eyes lite up with an idea as he bent over and put his head next to Adelene's and smiled.

"Say cheese!"

Leon snapped the photo and put it as the picture for whenever Leon called her phone. That way when Adelene saw him calling she'd see their faces. He hopped this would bring a smile to her face each time. Reverting to his normal posture Leon quickly adds in his home phone number and address to her contact list if he wasn't answering his cell for any reason.

"Alright. I might have moved too fast so if you didn't follow I can show you again. Any questions go ahead and ask them and I'll do what I can to explain and show you. Easier that way, no?"

Leon held the phone back out to Adelene, quickly texting himself on her phone so he'd have her number to add to his own list later. Seeing Adelene worried about taking him from the shop he gave one of his big smiles and laughed.

"While it looks busy, most of them are people who just come in and sit here for hours just waiting to see what fresh goods we bring out next. No worries either! Sayyyyy, you want to come inside and try some? There are some fresh cinnamon rolls coming out of the oven soon, some French Bread, and some other goods. Don't worry about paying for anything either. We get carried away sometimes and bake more then we need to. Besides Mom loves it when a new person tries our goods. Just uhh, try to ignore what the customers say. You heard how Mom was teasing? Well they can be just as bad. In a good way mind you, but..."

Leon didn't want to embarrass Adelene again, but sometimes it couldn't be helped. Leon just held out his elbow for Adelene and continued to smile while giving her a look that said 'Allow me Ma'dam.'

(btw if you can think of it then the baked good will be in the store. it's kind of like an old fashion bakery where you can buy break, cookies, brownies, etc. Stuff of that sort.)

Adelene tried her best to follow whatever Leon was doing to her phone, and really it wasn't so hard to figure out, but sometimes, things get a little confusing.

She was watching him until he struck a pose with her and did a thing with her phone. Right. It had two camera lenses, one at the back, one in front. Adelene blushed at seeing the photo because... she felt like she was ugly in it. She was caught off guard and wasn't smiling, instead she was giving the camera a curious look.

She took the phone back when Leon offered it to her, and she looked up at him, eyebrows slightly furrowed. "I'm ugly in pictures," she merely said. At the same time, she thought Leon was picture perfect. She put it back in her pocket after that, giving her friend a sweet "Thank you!"

Leon went on to tell her more about the shop and the people there, about his parents' playfulness and such. She smiled at him, quite amused, though a part of her was really, really jealous of Leon's family, she wouldn't be shocked if she suddenly cried. But she wasn't going to cry. This was a happy day.

"I'd love to try some! I bet they're really good considering you cooked really well for us before," she said, before holding onto Leon's forearm when he offered.

"You probably know this by now, I get embarrassed easily... But as long as things don't go beyond decent, I'll be fine," she said, just before they entered.

She had already had a peek of what it was like inside, but getting a fuller view of the place wowed her a bit. Moreover, the scent of freshly baked goods started to make her feel hungry. "Mm... That smells good."

Leon rustled Adelene's hair a bit at her calling herself ugly in picture. To Leon the word really didn't exist. It was just people who had a weird notion that things are at their worst, least how he sees it. Leon decided they would do something later about that.

"We could take a better one, just wanted to see how it turned out on a surprise. Wasn't all that bad. Sides you do look cute anyway so a picture means you look beautiful."

With Adelene now hooked on his arm Leon opens the door and leads her in, giving her a smile of confidence to tell her not to worry about what people would say. The smell of the bakery was normal to Leon so he didn't smell much different then normal, but for someone like Adelene who had never been in there before it must have smelled wonderful. Hearing her say that made him grin wider and let out a proud chuckle.

"Oh it doesn't just smell good. It's all delicious. We've tried different recipes from all over the world so if there's something that isn't here you want to try then by all means tell us and we'll make it! Mom loves to try new recipes and I get to eat them as the guinea pig."

As they walked towards the counter a few snickers and remarks towards Adelene and Leon were made. All of them lightly teasing the pair. Leon hadn't mentioned to Adelene he rarely got friends to come over and with it being a girl it made all sorts of ruckus. Leon just shot them a glance with a small glare that got some of the customers to laugh and ease up on the teasing. Till one spoke up anyway.

"Say Leon where have you been hiding this lass?"

"Wasn't hiding anyone. Just a friend coming over to see a friend."

"What kind of friend? Ehh? Ehhh?"

"Hush Milenda! You too Fred!"

The two customers, sitting together and looked like they were married, both chuckeld and went back to their own conversation. Leon sighed and let out a slight chuckle trying to reassure Adelene it was just normal fun. Normal. Fun. Nothing else.

"So Adelene, what looks yummy? Don't worry about paying either. Just pick something out and enjoy!"

A door opens off to the side and a metallic wielding mask pops out, takes a quick look around, then returns back behind the door. That would be a door to go behind later. Leon's Mom had taken to sitting with the customers and talking with them, leaving Adelene and Leon in their own little spot. Robin was still keeping an eye as every mother does when they see their son with a girl. And to tease them again. Was ohhh so much fun.

"I'll be honest... It's embarrassing..."

Adelene thought it was better than Leon knew. While she didn't mind being teased by the customers, their eyes on her still bothered her a bit. Instead of letting Leon go, she clutched on her arm even more, feeling secured knowing Leon was there to keep anything from happening to her.

For some reason, she was getting the impression that maybe the people around them were misunderstanding her relationship with Leon. She felt awkward, but she knew the truth and that's all that mattered.

When the words died down though, Adelene released a relieved sigh and turned back to the counter with the baked goods. She smiled at them, and then at Leon. He had every right to boast for the shop, it was amazing. "I don't really know a lot about pastries, but I bet these are all delicious! Do you have chocolate cream puffs? Oh, and I don't mind trying anything else, what's your Special?"

By this time, Adelene's already let Leon go, because she was holding on the counter as she looked at the pastries.

"Don't worry. They'll leave you be now that Mom is keeping them distracted. You're my friend, but she also sees a potential new customer and doesn't want to see you frightened off by a few teasing remarks."

Leon did his best to reassure Adelene that everything was going to be fine. He knew she got embarrassed easily and didn't want to make it anymore awkward for her. Leon had felt Adelene hold on to his arm more and smiled. He knew from the times this has happened mostly told him she was needing some comfort and this was all she needed. Unless he was misreading and she just wanted to feel safer. He didn't know.

"Don't mind them alright? To be honest they're so used to seeing me with random girls I've been nice too that they give everyone the same treatment. If I told them you were just a friend they'd look at me and just laugh in disbelief till I gave them a look that told otherwise. So don't worry too much about it."

Leon did his best to give Adelene his most reassuring smile which seemed to not be entirely needed with Adelene going straight into looking at all the baked goods like a kid in a candy shop. Leon had to think about it for a moment whether they had chocolate cream puffs. He was about yell out to his mother when she was already pointing towards one of the counter tops where all the chocolate filled goods were. Leon walked over, after putting on some plastic gloves, reached in and grabbed a few for Adelene before walking over and setting them down on a paper plate for her.

"Special? Honestly the only thing I would say is the Norama Spice Loaf. Well that's my specialty anyway. Mom s better with sweet goods, Dad can do both but prefers to stay in the garage doing his work, and I make spicy food along with most of the normal breaded goods. I haven't made any spicy bread today since only a few people eat it. Mom! Got anything special made today?"

"I made that rich dark chocolate brownie batch today. There's some in the back I hadn't brought out yet for own personal batch."

"Thanks Mom! Let me go grab some of that because it sounds good. Man I love brownies."

Leon turned around and walked through a nearby door into where their home part of the shop was and started looking around for the brownies. Within a few minutes Leon returned with a couple of brownies on another plate, one in his hand that he was eating, and set them down on the counter.

"Wanna sit out here or in the back? Don't mind either way, just whatever you prefer."
