Life was super hard sometimes. Or most of the time, really. There was always something stressful or worrisome happening. Or plain old painful, like now.
He pouted at the stranger from under his hands and bangs. "The corner got me," he muttered. The offer of help was welcome... but wait, that would mean that the guy would have to get in close to him, and what if the spiderness was too much and he scared him?!
He should try to get up on his own. "I-I'm o-okay," he stammered, and took a deep breath. He was good at breathing. He had to actually practice it for work, after all. Now. Getting up was usually super easy, since all he had to do was hook a foot or too underneath his bulk and then push up, but Shikkanuka forgot something rather critical. The grocery store's floor was quite smooth and rather slippery, and when he went to stand up he just tilted sideways instead -
