Emily licked her lips a little, and unconsciously took a small step closer to Elias. It always tasted better when someone was enjoying themselves then otherwise.

She tilted her head a little bit, a slightly puzzled expression on her face. "Shouldn't it w-work anyway? I thought that was how observatories worked, th-that it didn't m-m-matter what time it was... W-Well, flowers are nice... We c-could see those."

She glanced around a little bit, checking all the exhibits that lined the paths. "I-Is there anything a-about... Astrology?... W-W-Well, no... There w-wouldn't be... W-Would there..." She blushed a bit and looked down at her feet, embarrassed she had voiced the comment.

"Oh, I probably worded that badly, huh?" Elias chuckled. "I kind of meant that they do maintenance on the telescope during the weekends. Think it's just an excuse to force more people to come in during the week. It's nice to be able to take walks here on the weekends with lesser people, though, even if the observatory is basically a no-go."

Although the staff did tend to get angry if he got too rowdy with the other visitors, even if there were few others around. Not wanting to be banned from the place, Elias had wisely elected to not pick fights with people at that particular location. Besides, it was a museum. You just couldn't fight in a museum.

"Astrology? Is that what interests you then?" Elias thought for a moment. "I don't think this place has anything like that but if you want, I'm pretty sure there's a few fortunetellers close by that can help you out with stuff like that. I know there's a bookstore around here, too. If you'd like, we could just head on over there."

"Ah..." Emily just nodded a little as he clarified his statement. She let her eyes turn up towards the telescope again, tilting her head thoughtfully as a slight breeze played with the hem of her dress.

Her face then turned bright red and turned sharply away from Elias at his next statement. It wasn't that she was ashamed of her interests but... there was just something about the way he had said it. Now she was just embarrassed about looking embarrassed.

"I-I-I don't n-need... a f-fortuneteller to... I-I was just c-c-curious... I-Is all..... B-But I could... I c-could look at b-books... i-if that's something y-you'd want to d-d-do..."

"I'm kind of book dumb," Elias told her, because it was totally true and there wasn't a point in not saying it. "It's nice to see other people getting something out of them, though." It made the world feel a lot fuller, he meant. Even if he personally liked living life in a relatively straight line, it didn't mean that he didn't appreciate the sheer amount of stuff out there in the background.

"But, if you'd like to take a look, we should definitely do that," he said. "I'm just happy to be out with you, no matter what we're doing." It was, after all, very important to spend time with friends and people who could be friends if you just gave it a little time.

Emily licked her lips while looking askance at Elias. He wasn't lying, or if he was he had different tastes. There wasn't any of the sterility of boredom on the air around him.

"Th-That's... Kind of f... Flattering..." She turned away when she realized she was blushing. "... A-Alright... B-B... Books, Then..."

Emily would follow Elias to the bookstore, since she didn't know it's specific location herself. Once there, She'd begin wandering aimlessly through the stacks examining the book spines. Occasionally, she'd pull one off the shelf and look at it. A mix of fiction, poetry, psychology and the like seemed to hold most of her interest.

He led the way to a nice bookshop set up at the entrance of a wide alley, a one level red-brick building with large, well-polished windows to display the stacks and shelves full of books within. It wasn't big enough to lose track of somebody inside but it was still a decent sized place.

It wasn't really Elias's favorite place but even he could recognize it as a place that book-loving people enjoyed spending time at. For the most part, he followed Emily around, picking up books that looked similar to what she was looking at. He did kind of want to see what sorts of things she was into to but whatever Emily was looking at, he knew that he'd probably have to dumb it down for himself. Most of the books he ended picking up were along the lines of "Topic for Dummies."

Fiction, though? Fiction he could completely get behind, even if some of the more complicated stuff went right over his head.

"So what's good?" He asked, looking over Emily's shoulder to see what she had picked up next.

Emily looked up and blinked a little as Elias came up behind her. She held up a copy of Alice in Wonderland to show him. "I-I... Um... It's b-been a little w-while since... S-Since I read this last... I thought it m-might be nice t-to explore again..." She looked down at the small bundle of books she was gathering. "... I'm m-mostly just browsing... And p-picking up anything that seems i-i-interesting... W-What have you found...?"

She glanced down at the selection Elias had collected, tilting her head a little. "... Y-You like... informative b-books...? Y-Your quite the scholar... A-Aren't you...?"

"Ahhh, not really?" He gave her a sheepish look that turned a bit clueless as he skimmed the pages of the book he had just picked up. "I try to be sometimes but I'm not too good at this sitting quietly and reading thing. Whenever I try, I just go from book to book. One chapter of this, one of that. I'm not really good with linear but having a bunch of things across the board can be fun."

He paused for a moment, trying to recall the last time he had seen an Alice in Wonderland movie. Had he even ever read the actual book? "I do like fairy tales, though," Elias told her. "Godmother keeps picking out all the wrong parts, though."

Emily tilted her head to the side, examining the book Elias was holding. "W-Well... You've b-been skimming a lot of b-books... F-For someone who i-isn't good at reading... O-O-Or are you just t-trying to impress me...?"

He body leaned back a little, rocking on he heels a bit as she listened to him. "... G-Godmother...?" Her eyes drifted towards the ceiling as she tried to remember if he'd mentioned his Godmother before. "So... Are y-your parents... U-Um..." She stepped forwards before finishing her thought, raising her stack of books a little in her hands. "I-I-I'm gonna go ch-check these out..."
