Lucianne was running late, which was becoming somewhat of a trend. There had been a rush a little before one and before she knew it, it was 1:05 and she still hadn't clocked out yet. Now it was 1:20 and she was keeping up Jude, who hopefully was still waiting around for her and hadn't given up and left. It would have been a shame, really. He seemed like a nice guy. She could only hope that she wasn't making a terrible impression on him.

She rounded the corner and the facade of the Delphi came into site, a bright red brick building with emerald shutters and two, technically three, stories. Squinting against the sun, she held her hand up and waved at the figure she saw standing in front of the door.

Jude was not behind. Jude was on time, because he was the kind of person who was always on time. His dad had been pretty specific about that.

That said, he wasn't the person who was exiting the shop. Jude was inside, going through the shelves. He'd waited about five minutes outside, and then wondering if Lucianne was already inside, headed in. And now? Now he was letting Gil pick out a book or two, wandering down the stacks. Every so often he'd pick up a book, skim through the table of contents, and then put it back. Gil was picky, after all. The information had to be very high quality.

Oops. As it turned out, that person was not Jude. It was just another customer on their way out. Seeing as she was so late, she asked if he had, by chance, seen a young man by Jude's description in the shop. Relieved that he had, she hurried on inside, waving at Ithai as she entered before doubling back to ask where Jude had gone.

"Jude, are you there?" she called down an aisle.
