Darth Vader walked over to where Chloe Bella Skywalker was cornered. He reached a hand for her. His cape was billowing dramatically in the wind.

"There is no escape! Don't make me destroy you. Chloe, you do not yet realize your importance. You've only begun to discover your power! Join me, and I will complete your training! With our combined strength, we can end this destructive conflict, and bring order to Hell."

The giant blue and grey shaft turned into a hellish landscape, however the narrow path was still the same.

"Wait, what the —"

That was the moment that Chloe's suspension of disbelief fell apart. She could deal with Darth Vader and punk rock vampire girlfriend, but she couldn't deal with Darth Vader wanting to rule hell with her. Her mind hadn't gone on any sort of tangent like that yet. Chloe wasn't ready for Darth Vader the demon lord.

"So... I'm obviously dreaming. None of this is real."

While Chloe wasn't paying attention, her hand had grown back. She got back to her feet slowly; she wasn't in any hurry. "And... oh, for fuck's sake. Now even my dreams are treating me like I'm a demon." Once she got to her feet, she faced Vader down, unarmed and un-worried about the ease with which he could kill her. It was just a dream. "I'm not a demon. Demons... aren't even a thing! Hell isn't a thing either."

Seneca Yates

"I've encountered my fair share of interesting people," he started thoughtfully. "Although, fairly early in my career, there was an incident with a Spanish family who had immigrated to Chiang Mai. The husband had died and the wife had apparently developed dementia. The children were still in their early teens."

"The Spanish like having their dead buried within a day of their passing but Thai funerals can stretch on for days. I remember that friends of the family kept rushing me to finish everything on time." But really, in hindsight, that was the least stressful and disturbing part of it.

"My powers pick up more than just the dead," Seneca said. "The Thai have a very vibrant collection of ghosts among them. When the wife came to see how much progress I had made, I could see a haze around her and, um." He made an awkward motion with his hand, bringing it down in a slithering vertical line. "To put it simply, she was a krasue. They're female ghosts who look human during the day but during the night, their heads and internal organs separate from their bodies."

Looking down into his tea, he dumped onto the ground in the next moment. "Anyways, they're nocturnal blood drinkers who prey on pregnant women. Sometimes people can turn into krasue if they ingest food contaminated by them, which is what we think happened to her. There's nothing you can do to stop a krasue during the day so I had to wait until night with a Catholic priest and a Buddhist monk. We spent a few hours tracking down where its body was and burned it."

Afterwards, we had to spend the following week making up plausible stories to the family's friends for why we had her "cremated" before anybody had known she was even dead. It took intervention from the Church to keep them from asking anymore, and also some from the local temples to keep the neighbors quiet."

==> Allan

Allan sat there quietly, listening intently as Seneca told him his story. Part of him felt like inserting a comment, something about the krasue that reminded him of manananggal except the latter at least had a torso to hide those organs. Ah, but interrupting this sort of tale was something Allan decided not to do. He listened and simply drank his tea, occasionally nodding to show Seneca he had been listening.

He was both fascinated and a little scared about Seneca's experience with that creature, and a little astonished at how they had to deal with that little incident. "Yikes," he finally said after Seneca was done, "That must have been pretty problematic for you." He had friends who supposedly could see ghosts, but people who could see the supernatural always had it worse, as he heard. Having both probably takes the cake.

Allan looked down on his cup of tea, "It must get really stressful then; seeing a lot of supernatural things around you. Much worse since this island has more than just that." Allan laughed just a little bit, "I mean for starts, collective dreams aren't really a thing unless someone actually started this."

Darth Vader took off his helmet to reveal Mikhainon's face... but from the looks of it, she probably wouldn't recognize him. He leaned against the metallic railing.

"Chloe, sweetheart, you have seen your horns and tail yet, right?"

Wow. Darth Vader was actually pretty hot under that mask. Or, at least this guy from Chloe's dream who was dressed like Darth Vader was pretty hot.

Chloe sighed, exasperated by Hot Darth Vader and his entirely unfounded assumptions about her life. "Why yes, sexy version of Darth Vader, I do have a mirror in my dorm. But I go to a whole school full of people with 'supernatural' powers and bodies," she held up her fingers to make air quotes for the word 'supernatural,' "and none of them have to deal with this religious shit. Nobody questions that they had noumenal cascades making them the way they are. But someone looks like something from your stupid christian mythology and suddenly that's different?"

She threw her hands up in frustration. "What makes me different from everyone else?"

[Adelene Cross]

Adelene had no idea what was happening. She was suddenly a child again, back to her thirteen-year-old self, and she had no idea what was supposed to happen to her now. She didn't know she was dreaming. She didn't know that she was actually lying down her bed in her dorm room, resting after a very long day from school and work.

What she thought was that she was on the run, a little girl trying to survive from the danger of the person after her, this person being the person she loved and considered as an older brother. She was panting heavily, and her feet never ceased to race against each other, her hands grabbing on her dress to keep its ends up so she doesn't trip.

Her cheeks itched with her dried tears and the air on her face. She couldn't see much, all there was in front of her was a narrow dirt path, and some occasional trees and bushes. Beyond that, there was nothing.

She was tired, so tired, she wanted to just lie down and cry, but her feet wouldn't stop. And nothing was stopping her.

Dreams were stupid and pointless. Kirika hated dreaming. It always made her groggy and confused in the mornings. And there were all these people she never knew running around.

She was on her way to the mythical Point Of Origin, where she could destroy all dreams and stay awake forever. Walking on the dirt path, she heard the sounds of light footsteps running. Uneven steps too. This person must be tired. Nonetheless, she quickly hid behind a tree and pulled out her gun.

The runner happened to be a child. She waited until the girl had run past, before stepping out into the road, pistol at the ready, aiming at whoever was chasing the girl. Whether friend or foe, no one endangered children on her watch.

[Adelene >> Kirika]

However, there was nothing. Nothing solid at least. What was coming after Adelene was a voice, a sinister laughter, that seemed to be from a young man. And as it passed Kirika, it vanished.

Adelene, not feeling its presence, finally stopped. The little girl stumbled on the ground, and decided not to get up when she fell. She was tired, oh so tired, she didn't have anything, not even tears.

There was only fear, and the will to live.

Adelene started to wonder about what happened, when she's finally gotten her mind cleared. She sat up, and for what felt like a long time, turned her head to where she came from, just to see what made the young man disappear. There was a person there, standing where she once was. She looked at her curiously, but didn't dare come close, or even speak. She just... waited. Because she didn't know if this person was out to get her too, or if she was just a random person passing by. Needless to say, she was still afraid.

Seneca Yates

"Members of my family seem to have a knack for getting into trouble," he noted, almost idly if it weren't for the fact that it actually terrified him. "Lots of them also have some version of the Sight and I don't think I've met even one who likes having it." If he remembered correctly, there was one distant cousin of his from Korea who had the Sight, affinity for demons, and almost magical bad luck in the same package.

"As far as places go, we honestly can't make up our minds over if Manta Carlos is the safest place in the world or the most dangerous." Although they liked to think it was the former, just because it would drive people mad with paranoia if they didn't.

"The dreams are kind of nice in their own way, though," Seneca admitted. "I can't keep up with it all but at least I know they're not real." He hesitated for a moment. "I think."
