Evante frowned as he tugged at a strand of his silvery white hair. He was curled up in one of the library's comfortably large leather chairs, and up until then, had been fairly content-- for once.

Yet, now... he'd read the same line of the page in front of him at least seven times. His thoughts were all over the place, a whirlwind of action in his head that made him wince and wouldn't let his mind rest for a moment. He'd woken up with a bad feeling, but had shaken it off quickly, hoping it was just paranoia.

Apparently not.

Pale blue eyes slid closed, images and memories playing across his eyelids.

Things he'd rather forget, words he'd wished he'd never heard. Fear, so much fear and worry. Not for himself, of course, but for his sweet mother, who was always there when he needed someone the most. He couldn't contact her as much as he wished, unwilling to have his letters intercepted by them, but he would never do anything that could potentially put her at risk.

If only his father...

Evante grit his teeth, growling under his breath. Mixed in with those growls were nearly inaudible whimpers.

"Why now...?" He muttered to himself. "Why flashbacks now?"

There, in one corner of the library, only the slow, but shaky flipping of book pages could be heard. Eros was browsing through a couple of books while seated on the floor between a cold wall and a dusty shelf, hoping to find more helpful spells for his problem.

His glasses were destroyed a few days ago. These glasses weren't for his vision, but to suppress his still-uncontrollable ability to attract and seduce people. He's relied on them for years. Thankfully, there were other things he can resort to now that he was in this magical island. Specifically, temporary wards. He's been using them for a couple of days, accessing them through the spell books in the library; however, he needed to renew them every few hours, which was a hassle. And so he tries to search for a more permanent solution, but he couldn't find any.

A long sigh escaped his lips. With a soft thud of hardbound book closing, he stood up, returned the books, and walked out of that hidden part of the library. He had his wards on for now, so he was temporarily safe and normal. That wasn't making him happy though. He walked slowly, seemingly dejected. At least, until he noticed the form slouching in one of the comfy couches.

There was pain in the silver-haired male's eyes, and Eros was close enough to see him mutter something to himself. As a naturally helpful person, Eros found himself walking towards the guy, despite not forgetting his own problem yet.

He habitually pushed a finger against the bridge of his nose where the glasses were supposed to touch, but he flinched and brought down his hand as he remembered he didn't have anything on. Honestly, he felt naked. But that didn't matter at the moment.

"Uh... Hey," he greeted. His voice was soft, mostly because they were in the library and he didn't want to make commotion in the middle of silence. "You don't look well. Do you... need anything? I'd take you to the infirmary if you're feeling sick."

So lost in the maelstrom his mind currently was, he didn't even notice the stranger closing in. It was quite unlike him, as he'd grown to being extremely vigilant to his surroundings in case someone who meant ill tried sneaking up on him. As such, the quiet words startled him and he nearly jumped up a foot into the air.

"O-Oh, hello there~" He tried to get his usual mask of gentle arrogance and trickery up, but it was a struggle. He'd always managed to flee to relative solitude when he was having a breakdown like this, but now...

"Thank you, but... I'm fine." He mumbled quickly, rising to his feet and dislodging the book from his lap so it fell clattering to the floor. There was still pain reflected in his features, but Evante grinned widely to try to hide it. The expression came out more like a slight grimace, but he hoped the stranger wouldn't bother questioning him further.

There was something bothering him in the back of his mind, but he firmly swept it away. He didn't realize it yet, but there was something off with the young man in front of him-- he wasn't very affected, if at all, by Eros' natural aura of seduction.

{{Sorry for the short and terrible post but ;;;;; }}

A small curious frown crossed Eros' lips the moment this man grinned and pulled himself up to his feet. The book created a thud against the floor. It opened a little and even its leaves rattled the quiet air. Eros was quick to bend down and get it, and then to hold it out to its previous reader. The gentle and worried expression didn't leave his face. It wasn't mixed with that much anxiety either, since he knew his temporary wards were set up right. Distracted from his own problem, the dejected look on him just a moment ago also faded away.

"You don't look like you're so okay." No, this man looked like the world was on his shoulders. Eros wouldn't pry but he wanted to do something, anything, with or without any sensible reason for doing so. He couldn't quite put a finger to it, but something about this man felt... familiar..? even though he was sure this is the first time he's seen him.

"You look like you could use some company. Or distraction from whatever's stuck in your head."
