Pastel colors, a flower crown, and a mess of freckles were not exactly common undead traits, and he had to wonder if he was perhaps mistaken. But he supposed it didn't matter - she would not have signed up at all, otherwise. She would have to be 'Gloria'. Astor was possible, but Gloria seemed a much more fitting name.

He gave a quick glance to the clock on the wall, and decided he'd waited long enough. They were already a few minutes past the time, and it was possible that someone might not even be coming. He would simply have to go on, and if they came in late, so be it. Pario was already staring at him, and there was no point in delaying further.

He cleared his throat, suddenly aware of so many eyes on him. "My name is Makara Som. I'm the faculty advisor for the club, and Pario is our club leader." Hadn't he already said that? Yes - but only to one, to the girl who called herself 'Iridian'. "For those who haven't met me before, I am actually a ghost." He paused for a second, catching himself. It must have sounded silly, to hear him say that when he was so clearly not.

"At night, anyway." Well, he was a ghost all the time, but he looked and acted like a ghost at night. "I also serve as a counsellor for undead related issues at the school. I thought this club might be helpful, to bring together those whose powers lean towards death and the like. It can be difficult to get appropriate support." He knew that much at least. Even on an island filled with magic, death was still an uncomfortable topic.

Gloria Eugenia Sandoval

Though sentient beings certainly did not fall into the scope of her powers, Gloria did feel a tad more comfortable with herself as she took her seat. It was such a wonderful thing to have so much death magic in the nearby proximity that she found herself lightly humming a short tune. Her normally soft and gentle smile was observably a few shades sharper than it had been when she had first entered the room.

"I do not believe that we have met, sir," she said after Makara had finished speaking, though her next words were directed at everybody. "I am Gloria Eugenia Sandoval, also on the staff. I specialize in early education down at the daycare. My powers are a bit unusual for this group but in any case, I am a necromancer. However, I am strictly confined to plant matter." She tilted her head charmingly, a warm but somewhat distant feeling present in both her voice and her expression. "A pleasure, I am sure."

Watching them all for a few moments, Iridian felt slightly out of place. She shouldn't have, due to them all being death-related. A ghost, a plant necromancer, though she did wonder if Pario was more like her. "My name is Iridian," she said as the adults concluded their conversation. She wasn't sure what to say. What did you do at a club for the dead? She couldn't decide if this was a good idea or a bad idea. She supposed there was pros and cons, and she had to weigh them out. Everybody seemed nice, she thought. She wondered if that would change.

Astor Hollis Grimm

Astor wasn't late. Er, technically he was, but it wasn't because of irresponsibility or anything. It was more... well, people. Mama Bat very gently hinted that clubs would be good for him and he agreed! Theoretically, they would be! But were they supposed to be this nerve wracking?

Then again, everything was nerve wracking. Might as well join something small and closely related to your future career. After all, the undead, death and morbid stuff in general happened to be his specialty.

The little reaper pulled his hoodie on and crept into the room, body stiff, movement resembling that of a flickering shadow. He looked at the small crowd, nodded and made his way to a seat near the back. "H-hello, I'm sorry I'm late... My name is Astor. I signed up. I'm in the list... right?" he said, vaguely, to the short looking professor.

Please let him be in the list. He'd die of embarrassment, otherwise.

There were so many things to say, as everyone was introducing themselves and sitting down. As he looked over at Makara, he gave him a nervous smile, before the looked back at the people in front of him. After the two already members had aid their peace, Pario opened his mouth to speak, but stopped as he saw one member go and sit down. After introducing themselves, another member did too. "Well this is quite a turn out!" Pario said happily, rubbing his hands together. "It is a pleasure to meet you all." He said with a short bow. "As some of you know already, I am the club leader. Now as most of you have said our connection to the dead, it is only right for me to say mine."

He paused and took a breath. "Though I don't have any magical powers or a cool backstory, I am linked with my dead sister Acellyn." Pario nodded weakly as he watched her fly around the room. "Only I can see her. Due to this though, I am able to sense and sometimes even see other people's loved or hated ones that could be lingering around them." Pario added on calmly, putting on a light smile at the end. "So if you find me talking to myself, I'm most likely talking to her."

<table><tbody><tr><td><div style="padding:15px;"><div><div><div style="border:8px solid #ffffff;width:125px;height:125px;margin:0px 10px 0px 0px;float:left;"><img src="http://i.imgur.com/gb3zdDk.png" style="height:125px;"></div></div><div style="text-align:justify;">Makara was, he had to admit, a bit nervous around necromancers. He knew it was a bit silly, considering the odds of one of them trying to bind him to their will were fairly slim, but it made him nervous just the same. Hearing that the woman he'd mistaken for a student was actually a teacher was unexpected, and he tensed and then relaxed slightly when she explained that she was a necromancer... for plants.

He couldn't quite blame Iridian for not explaining exactly what she was - or what she could do. Makara's powers were fairly mundane as far as the undead went, and even so he still hesitated about being upfront with people at times. Certainly he did have to explain a lot of the time, but that also came with being a teacher. You couldn't just hide behind not having to tell someone - not when he was trying to be someone people could go to if they needed help.

Their meeting was interrupted by the arrival of the last person, who was probably Astor. Of course, almost immediately after, he was both proven correct - they were astor - and wrong, because they were not the last person to arrive. Two people slid into the room, neither of which had signed up. Makara supposed he should have been happy for the larger turnout, but instead he just felt thrown off.

"Ah... yes. Welcome." He said to the newcomers, glancing around before gesturing to some empty seats. "Grab a seat, we were just doing introductions. My name is Makara." He said, letting Pario do his own introduction. Pario's connection to the dead was certainly unusual, but it wasn't that much weirder than a teacher who was a plant necromancer.

Unfortunately, Makara was running headfirst into one of the many reasons he'd been so hesitant to start a club in the first place: He had no idea what to talk about. He had no school club experience, having never even gone to school before, and he genuinely didn't know what they were supposed to talk about.

"I wanted - there's already a club for magic folks, and one for demons. It seemed appropriate that there be one for undead students, and those aligned with death. The school does a good job of making accommodations for power practice, but it can still be hard to speak about powers like that." He said, his voice seeming to grow quieter the longer he talked.

Gloria Eugenia Sandoval

"It was a wonderful idea to establish one," Gloria said kindly, with an encouraging smile. "I was rather delighted when I saw it finally appear on the listings. Though people constantly toy with the idea of doing so, unfortunately, it simply seems to be one thing after another."

Since he seemed to be struggling along, she decided to lend a hand. Or a voice, as it was. "So what is it that you intend for us to do now that we are all gathered?" She asked. "Do you have any particular goals for us at all? Are we meant to be a closed away society? Personally, I think many of these sorts of clubs do benefit from grassroots types of projects. Take the the Demonic Union, for example. It is a very lovely example that seems to be fond of bake sales. Though I am of that mindset myself, it would hardly do to seem as if we are aiming to completely emulate something that already exists."

As far as clubs went, things went fairly smoothly. No one ambushed the club. No one broke down the door to try and exorcise the lot of them. It was about as good as he expected. He ran down his rough plans (to advertise subtly so that people would know it existed), opened the floor for discussion, and then realized they were running out of time. People had arrived late enough that it had bit into their club time, and he gave everyone a little smile before declaring that it was over. It would be another week or two before he could find the time to arrange another meeting, but he had high hopes after the first.

"Thank you everyone for coming out." He said politely, giving them one of his too-formal bows and making sure to usher everyone out before he closed the door behind him.

Gloria Eugenia Sandoval

Well, while Gloria could not say that she was totally satisfied with their club leader, she could at least appreciate the fact that he did want to advertise their existence. If the meeting had ended in the typical manner of a secret society, then she supposed that she might have simply refrained from showing up again. Obviously, being a secretive for the sake of secretive with no goal at all was a complete waste.

While she was still not convinced that attending was not a waste of her time, however, she was willing to give it a shot. Makara's hesitant leadership was inherently flawed and it seemed like the ending point for the club was made of only vague, circular goals. So Gloria supposed that once she had really settled into the mind for it, she might take a more active role. Much more than a mere advertiser, she hoped!

"Thank you for the meeting, dear," Gloria said to the man, once the other members had left. Only the two of them remained then by the door. "I found it informative and will keep in touch with my progress." She did so wish that the pace would pick up but there was still plenty of time for that. "In any case, I need to make up schedules. Feel free to drop by the daycare if you need me."

She dipped into a slight curtsy and left, heels plodding quietly against the ground.
