APPEARANCE
Tavish has dark chocolate hair. His eyes are blue-grey with light blue outline just around the irises. He likes them for their uniqueness. He stands at 6' and is quite thin despite his round-ish face.
He loves raglan shirts. He owns a closet of short-sleeved to long-sleeved raglan shirts with all the color combinations you could think of. During the colder days, he puts on a plaid shirt for extra layer. Most days, he's also using a Heely/Wheely (shoes with built-in wheels in the sole).
PERSONALITY
Being the eldest child of three, he's used to being in control, used to getting what he wants, to being the alpha. He is therefore quite stubborn and bossy. Because of this, he often gets into arguments with others who are also stubborn.
He is also mostly quiet and somewhat introverted. Tavish likes knowing what's going on around him and what people are up to. Needless to say, he's mostly updated with things. He's not one to tell about rumors he hears though, he just listens. What information he gathers, he keeps so that he could use them against whomever they are about to get his way.
Tavish likes everything done fast. He's impatient when it comes to a lot of stuff. He's the type to wheel his way to a place via skateboard, longboard or Heely, instead of walking; to pre-order coffee in his favorite cafe instead of wait in line; to get most homework and projects done not too long after they're given. He also values whatever free time he has, using most of it to take a walk and listen to some tunes while taking pictures of the island or make some of his own with his new guitar, bought for the purpose of avoiding boredom. Before, he would use his time to spend time with his siblings but now that he lives in Manta Carlos, he has more time to himself.
He also has a tendency to become pretty moody at the worst of times, this characteristic of him coming from him assuming a lot of things, till proven otherwise.
Though Tavish may seem to be quite the brat, he is actually being just cautious about who he lets get close to him. He was told once upon a time that the people who he deserves are those who would accept him despite his attitude. Apparently, he was too young to understand what it really meant. Now, he just doesn't care if he comes off as rude or domineering. And he's got few friends because of it.
During class, he won't hesitate to take lead of a group or two, despite what others might say against him. The words hurt, of course. But the thing is, he knows he's good and he knows they know they need him in order to pass. His escape from the self-inflicted hate of society against him is usually going out to wander around the island with a wheeled board. If that's not possible, he'll just take his guitar to a quiet, isolated place and practice.
POWERS
His special ability is Chronokinesis, specifically he could control the passage of time in others. Ironically though, the limit of his abilities (as of now) is only to any four people or any eight things, and only to slow time down for these people/things. He could use Chronolock, which is to completely stop time for one person, however it has only happened once in his life and he had never been able to do it again.
BIOGRAPHY
Tavish grew up in the city with a younger brother, Finnegan, 17, and younger sister, Pauline, 12, his partners in crime. His father is a known lawyer and his mother is a magazine editor. Since both parents are normally absent from the house, Tavish took over as the substitute 'parent'. You could say he's become quite knowledgeable in many things because of that. Responsible, able to cook, able to take care of a sick child, understanding, kind; all that except patient.
Tavish hates waiting. The need to always be accomplishing something probably came from his father, whom he had always looked up to. That is before he grew old enough to understand that the man's obsession with his work was actually pretty toxic to the rest of the family. He swore then never to become someone like his father; to always finish whatever work he could finish as fast and as best he could so he could use the rest of the time to focus on more important matters.
The day he found out about his powers, he was fetching his then eight-year-old sister from school. They were walking down the sidewalk with ice cream he'd bought for her when a car swerved out of the road and towards the sidewalk. He and Pauline were going to get hit head-on and the only thing Tavish could do was to instinctively stretch out his hand in a flinch. The car slowed down enough for Pauline to run out of the way with a scream, pulling Tavish aside as well.
The incident had shaken them all up pretty badly, especially their parents. They made a lot of promises that day. Some they've kept, some they've forgotten. Tavish was glad for the change though because finally, his parents were acting more like parents again.
Two years after that life-changing incident, Tavish was forced to use his hidden ability again. Some bullies from high school had somehow put him in their sights. And they also somehow found out that he was gay. They were threatening to out him in front of his crush if he didn't do what they wanted. So he complied, let them pull him to the front of the school at one in the morning and vandalize the windows, the walls, the gates. Police sirens rang from the distance and the three were getting ready to scram when he was pushed to the ground, so he'd take the fall for them.
Tavish wasn't going to take any of it. He'd somehow done it again--he'd outstretched his hand to their direction by instinct. Suddenly the two bullies were moving a half inch per second. Tavish had no time to stare or examine the snails for the police still moved at the same speed. He escaped before the authorities could arrive and left the two to be caught while they were staring at each other in surprise and confusion, too late to turn and run without being seen.
He tried again and again after that, knowing for sure now that the first time he did it, it wasn't just his imagination. It wasn't until after four months that he finally was able to obtain some progress. He kept trying and trying every day and so far after two more years of continuous attempts, he's only able to do so little.
One day, a letter came. Tavish was reluctant to go until his sister had come to him to remind him of the reason why she's still alive. She was the only one who knew about his powers though and she'd promised him that he would be able to do more after he'd gone to Starlight Academy. That was all he needed to take the invitation.
ADDITIONAL INFO
- He's taking up BS Architecture.
- He has slight color blindness, not enough to affect anything too badly. His take on colour is just slightly off.
- He loves drinking anything with caffeine in it. Coffee most of all.
- He has a collection of headsets and headphones.
- He can skateboard, longboard and use Heelys. Mostly he just takes his Heelys though because the longboard and skateboard are a hassle to bring around campus. He likes longboarding best though.
- He has an eye for photography and it's one of his most productive hobbies, making him quite a celebrity on the internet.
- He doesn't like snakes or worms or anything that slithers.
- He's still just learning how to play the guitar. Despite that, he likes to make up tunes as he plays. He doesn't necessarily memorize them, rather he just strums random chords or strings to make music to last for the moment. He's not a singer.
- He's got 0 experience with regards to a romantic relationship.
