Basil wasn't annoyed- that wasn't something that really happened to him. Instead, their continued denial was just a source of amusement to him. Hey, maybe despite all of the evidence pointing to it, they weren't in juvie right now. Maybe it was all a big joke, a mistake, whatever one might jump to next as a personal defense. Sure, why not go with that, if it made them feel better? The truth would come out eventually, anyway. Even if it didn't, it all meant nothing to him.
Everyone else was a lot worse off, in this situation.
He laughed a bit, airily, when Iridian turned to him again. "Why are you asking me? I gave you my thoughts, and you already decided they were wrong. Well, I can play along if you'd like? A joke, a mistake, we're all perfect angels..." He cut himself off and paused again, then grinned very widely. "Waaait a second. Do you think I'm in on it now? Is that your new theory? Haha! Maybe next time, right?" Or maybe she was just generally using him as something to be angry at. He didn't mind.
He then turned to the other boy, who looked much closer to having an outright breakdown than the girl did. Basil still thought he recognized the guy, for some reason, and his curiosity was pretty relentless. He'd figure it out. "So, you've been here before then? Ah, excuse me, been to juvie before, because it's not like that's where here is or anything! My mistake." He smiled, sickly sweet. "So this doesn't look, or feel, familiar at all? Hm, interesting."
Basil tapped a few fingers on his bracelet, thinking absently about eldritch hazards to mankind. If he was supposed to be here (and well, he'd gone along politely under that assumption), he hoped they'd properly read all the paperwork. "Hey, no hard feelings on you two's whole totally doubting everything I say situation. I'm just making conversation- and I'm sure you'll get some solid facts to believe in soon." To settle your mental state, or make it worse.
