In his bundle of blankets, Wei found himself curling as best he could against Arren, similarly to how a young monkey would curl against their parent for safety. He could feel Arren shifting on the bed into a more comfortable position and Wei let out a soft yawn. He hadn't managed to make it to deep sleep before his nightmare kicked him out of sleep, so he was oh so, so tired.
The blankets were loosening around his body and the small monkey stretched out a bit, sleepily wrapping his tail around Arren's wrist as he turned to look up at him.
His eyes were cloudy and clearly tired from crying and not actually sleeping, but something seemed to be keeping him from falling back into sleep. Probably the same thing that had been keeping him from sleeping unless he was totally exhausted. Like the plague he avoided sleep.
The small student's aversion was only compounded now that Arren had promised to stay with him. He didn't want to scream in the night and wake him up.
