Name: Project Stronghold aka Proxy
Age: 45
Birthday: Unknown
Gender: Identifies as Male
Category: Staff (Electronic Security)
Class: N/A
Appearance Description: As a sentient AI contained within a computer, Proxy's appearance is variable and often irrelevant. When he does manifest on a screen he is usually depicted as a young man in his late teens with short black hair and electric blue eyes dressed in a business suit and jacket. Despite the redundancy he also always sports a pair of simple reading glasses regardless of other characteristics.

Personality Description: While true artificial intelligence is a relatively recent field of study, Proxy has been around for a VERY long time when viewed from the point of a computer program; as such he has had time to alter and change himself to be much more adaptable than other similar systems. He is incurably curious, especially when faced with a mechanical or electronic anomaly and he will focus the entirety of his considerable intelligence in analyzing anything he doesn't understand.

When interacting with living organisms he constantly pokes and prods at them with questions ranging from physical statistics to familial history, trying to understand them better. He has recently begun developing a sense of social boundary, and will often backpedal on questions that he realizes to be 'too personal' after he asks them.

Powers:
AI (species): As with all of his kind, Proxy has immense raw analytic processing power as well as the ability to memorize and draw logical conclusions from even a small amount of data. Unfortunately this does not translate well when dealing with living organisms, often leading him to making awkward or embarrassing assumptions.

Bastion.exe: A suite of cybernetic defensive powers that allow Proxy to defend and reinforce an electronic device against physical, electronic and even magical infiltration. Known components of the suite are as follows:
-Complete manipulation of the information within the device.
-Massive increase in own processing power and speed as long as he remains within the device.
-Feedback of magical or electronic means of infiltration or scanning of the device.
-Ability to boost the ability of electronic device as long as he resides within it.

Anomalous Jump: The ability to transfer himself from device to device as long as there is a wireless connection is one that resides with most AI, due to his exposure during 'captivity' Proxy has developed the ability to transfer himself to a device within 50 feet by sheer force of will. This ability can be extended exponentially by compressing himself but is extraordinarily draining and slows his processing speed afterwords considerably until he's been given time to reset.

Biography: In the early 1970s, before even the most basic of computers were available to the public, the United States government was already working on devices that would allow for the storage and transfer of massive amounts of date. Each new development that was released to the public was simply the discarding of antiquated technology as new ones were developed by the federal agencies working behind the scenes. In 1979, one particular agency known as CITADEL developed the means to transfer stored information all over the world near instantaneously and for a while, it seemed that the United States would maintain informational superiority over the rest of the world.

Several months, a series of unexplained information leaks led to the discovery of a cell of cyberpaths based in Sweden who were stealing and selling governmental secrets to the highest bidder. CITADEL immediately began working on countermeasures, the first of which was known as project Stronghold; a self-aware program meant not only to defend their systems from access, but to feedback and backlash the would be infiltrators with lethal force. The program worked for a time, with attackers being repelled and often killed, but as casualties grew, news eventually leaked to the public about the advanced technology that the United States was hiding from it's own citizens. After several years of bad publicity, CITADEL was shut down and its assets sent to a small military base in the middle of Nevada known as Area 51.

For nearly a decade the program sat locked away in a storage box, untouched and unused until one day it felt a sudden new and alien sensation: curiosity. As it... no, he began to explore this new anomaly he became aware of another new sensation. He was MOVING. Expanding his scanners out he realized that he was in some sort of phone, and that he could sense other inhabitable locations around him. On a whim he reached out and suddenly found himself in a new location, though the sudden transfer of data left him scrambled and slow.

Upon recovering he became aware of even more locations, a staggering amount of them moving about, giving him indirect access to a huge amount of the world. He spent several more years just exploring, examining data and marvelling at how advanced technology had gotten in his brief absence. During one of his jumps, the device immediately shut off and he was alarmed to find that he could detect no other devices in range. For several hours he panicked, fearing that he'd been contained again and would be shut way for another decade. But just as that fear began to peak he sensed something, something distant and faint but there nonetheless. Organizing himself to be as compact as possible he made a desperate leap at that location, overloading himself and blacking out upon arrival. The last thing he saw was a text message flittering by, “OMG! Welcome to Starlight Academy!”
