Name: Subject HS-04 (Self Designation: “Gomph”)
Age: 18
Birthday: July 22
Gender: Male
Class: High School (Truant)
Grade: 12 (Senior)
Appearance Description: Unremarkable in almost every way, Gomph stands at a completely average 5'8 and weighs a rather mundane 160 pounds. In fact, everything about him is purposefully meant to help him blend in. He wears clothes that capitalize on his forgettable features with pants ranging from faded jeans to black cargo pants and tops running the spectrum of neutral colors, usually hidden beneath an unobtrusive hoodie of some sort. The only really defining article of clothing is the silver belt buckle in the form of a scarab that gleams silver despite his best attempts to hide it.
Though slow to engage with people in general there is one being that is an exception to the rule. Pan, a shapeshifting child of lust and his housemate, is one of the only beings in the world he shows genuine comfort around. While he certainly finds their various forms attractive, the constant gnawing hunger he experiences keeps him grounded around them. Instead he finds most attractive their intelligence and ability to manipulate and coerce others so readily, two talents that he has never had much affinity for.
Personality Description: While not a genius Gomph is clever enough to realize that he is far from normal and after his recent escape does his best to keep his head down and out of sight. That said his incessant appetite tends to draw more attention than he'd like. Soft spoken and passive soul he tends to mumble and gives off a sense of simplicity that is often perceived as stupidity by others, an assumption that he is in no hurry to correct. His own power is strange and foreign to him, and while he is now technically a demon Gomph strides to try and see things from both the view of an unstoppable force of gluttony as well as that of a normal person, a fact that occasionally causes him to act uncharacteristically under odd circumstances.
Powers: Unholy Consumption: As a suspected child of Beelzebub it should come as little surprise that Gomph possesses a digestive track that would politely be referred to as 'strange'. As of this time the following attributes have been observed:
-Eternal Hunger: Perhaps one of the most obvious demonic traits that Gomph seems to have acquired from his father is a constant state of hunger. On <date redacted> he was seen entering a Las Vegas buffet sometime in the early morning and began to eat, 14 hours later he was ejected from the premises by a pair of employees, one of whom was screaming at him about driving the business to bankruptcy. During that period the subject was observed consuming approximately five pounds of food per hour, resulting in a total of about 70 pounds of food total before he was tranquilized and taken back into custody.
-Adaptive Digestion: In addition to being able to consume vast quantities of food, the subject also seems able to eat objects not usually digestible by humans. In addition to organic matter, he has been observed ingesting rock and metal though it appears that he does not enjoy the act.
-Ingested Immunity: Further studies have shown that toxins and medication administered through digestion have no effect upon HS-04. Common demonic weaknesses such as holy water and crosses also seem to have limited effect if consumed though skin contact causes visible pain. Of note, it seems that the subject has a particular aversion to solanum tuberosum, the common potato. Whether it is an allergy or restriction bestowed by outside forces he will quickly regurgitate anything that has more than trace amounts of the starch in it.
-Gluttony's Gullet: A final, if minor, trait observed or rather not observed is HS-04's alleged ability to consume things in their entirety. Things that could not fit in his mouth have simply disappeared if not carefully observed in his presence. If pressed about where the object in question went, the subject shrugs and simply answers 'ate it'. Again, this only seems to happen when the object in question is not observed by any means so there is not yet actual proof that he actually eats the items.
Consumptive Transmutation: A second and rather disturbing 'suite' of abilities that the subject has displayed is a rudimentary form of transmutation based on things that he has devoured. While the exact limits of this ability are unclear the general idea of them have been recorded as follows:
-Composite Breakdown: Purely speculative but the base of the rest of these 'gifts' seem to stem from the fact that anything he eats is not in fact digested but rather stored or broken down into base components. He appears to be able to identify WHAT it is broken down into but how he does so is unknown.
-Regurgitative Reconstruction: As a follow up to the previous power HS-04 can apparently take the components he has broken down and reform them into objects before regurgitating them in their whole. Once again, how he identifies what is needed to construct any given object is unknown but the technology level that he can is vast.
-Restorative Devouring: An unsettling ability, the subject can apparently heal himself by ingesting large amounts of living tissue. Much like the legend of the wendigo he appears to also be able to eat living matter (or, as agent Blightman discovered, corpses) when healthy and 'store' the energy for when it is needed. As such he has been attached to a bite guard to keep him from devouring anything unapproved by us.
Biography: Some people are born evil, some people give themselves to evil, and a few unlucky sods have evil thrust upon them. Such is the tale of the man known as Gomph. As a child he was brought up within the foster system after being left as a baby on the steps of the police station with a small silver charm in the form of a beetle as the only identifying article. From a young age Gomph's oddities were readily apparent. Even for a growing child his appetite was tremendous, consuming food and nonedibles with reckless abandon his foster mother quickly realized that there was something fundamentally wrong with him and after several inconclusive doctor appointments she finally turned to the church for help. As he was tugged through the threshold of the cathedral the young boy began to scream in pain, and the silver emblem that he wore around his neck began digging deep into the skin, small tendils of smoke coiling off of it as he thrashed about. The preacher, Father Carmichael, correctly identified him as a demon on the spot, and urged the foster mother to release him into the church's care so that he could be cured of his ailment. She reluctantly agreed and that was the last she would ever see of little Gomph.
The next decade and a half became a metaphorical hell for the young demon. Handed over to a branch of the church referred to as SERAPH, the entirety of his remaining childhood and subsequent teenage years were constant tests and experiments performed to locate and exploit weaknesses and limit his abilities. Cut off from anyone that could even remotely be called friendly Gomph retreated into himself, sentances were reduced to monosyllabic replies and he relied more heavily on body language than actual words to convey what he was feeling. It wasn't until he was nearly 17 when another demon was brought in and placed in the cell across the way. The being called itself Pan and through its own apparent telepathic abilities it began to explain to Gomph exactly what he was. As a son of Beelzebub he was destined to consume, to devour and twist things of this world to suit his needs. He descended from one of the lords of hell themselves, and a touch of that demonic power had given him these abilities. It was a lot for him to take in and he shied away from the being for a time. But as a year passed he found himself with questions. What was a demon exactly, what did they want, why was HE given these gifts. It was with those questions that Pan gave him the one thing he truly desired; answers.
As time continued to crawl on they educated him on the basics of demons, gave him knowledge that he'd been deprived of since the very beginning and for the first time, Gomph wanted to do something about it. Together they began to plan.
After months of planning and practice, they finally put their idea into motion. On a quiet night Pan did...something to one of the guards. Gomph couldn't quite tell what they had done but several minutes later the power went out, plunging the entire lab into darkness.. At Pan's urging he chewed his way through the now unelectrified cell bars as well as those confining his new friend and, after inflicting a horrific amount of damage to the guards still active in duty, managed to escape. Where would they go now? Where COULD they go? Well, as luck had it they came across a port, and a small old man beckoned them onboard without a second look and slowly the old trawler slipped quietly into the fog towards the Manta Carlos Islands
